Where is it?

Will they even do one?

Has anyone changed their initial viewpoint on the whole thing?

And lastly….Team Brooklyn or Team Beckham?

The Beckhams PR are out on this thread! Either that or there’s a lot of really strange, unintelligent arse lickers of the Beckhams on here.

Would they really be bothered with a thread on Mumsnet?

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 26/01/2026 06:50

Why are people constantly harping back to money, money doesn't buy happiness as we can see from Brooklyn's statement. Maybe he wanted a normal childhood, which he wasn't allowed.

And saying he can't have done the statement himself, it must have been Nicola, because he's a man that has been taken from his poor family by the cruel, jealous wife. Like men can't think for themselves.

Also saying his parents love him, like he should be grateful that they brought him into the world. They sold his childhood and plastered his face all over the media for money, they gave him no privacy, everything he's failed at has been publicly ridiculed(people on here are doing exactly that) because he's had no privacy as his parents are obsessed with promoting Brand Beckham and using him from the moment he was born.

Also the constant bashing of him and his wife by the press (so obviously Beckham PR) is just proving him right.

Team brand beckham and VB, stuck up talentless Brooklyn ! What lack of respect - know your place

His press release did not read as if he had written it himself. It looks to me that he was guided in the expression - I'm not saying it was his wife, but I'm sure they have people able to phrase it for them. I think he's probably easily influenced l, which is kinder than saying controlled. I think the best thing for the Beckhams is to simply say they regret the estrangement and the door is always open for Brooklyn and Nicola to reconnect with the family. Any further revelation/allegation from Brooklyn and his wife should be met with no response.

I think they'll stay silent. None of BBs statement rings true. I think Nicola wrote it. If the wedding had really been the catalyst then he'd have cut ties then, not 3 years down the line. His social media posts to his family after the wedding tell a very different story.

I imagine BB’s defence might be, if faced by this good evidence, that things weren’t so very bad at the mill, he HAD to do this & put on a happy front! He says his parents love was determined by his compliance!

Agree, but I think the cultural gap may be the bigger issue. The Beckhams have about half of Nelson’s wealth, poss a bit over half, & are half his age more or less. They’ll only get richer.

His fortune divided 10 ways - 10 children - means NP on a financial par with BB?

Agree. They came from fairly normal UK backgrounds. I have no idea what dance VB did but I expect we've all done the same and will likely do it again. My nephew got married in October and me and his mum definitely took over the dance floor 😂

Kingscallops · 25/01/2026 17:28

I wonder how many celebs have personally been in touch with Victoria since the statement. I would hazard a guess quite a lot in empathy.

Alliod40 · 25/01/2026 17:22

Have you seen everything that people have said about Nicola..from 10 years ago to now.. even her ex's mum has contacted Victoria as she knows what she's like..if he had such a big problem with his family..sit down with them, with solicitors if needs be and thrash it out..there was no need for this big drama..I like the Beckhams as a whole and I hope for his sake billionaire Nicola sticks around for him

Tobythegreat · 25/01/2026 17:21

Why should they acknowledge this silly childish behaviour.
It should have been a family conversation if he felt that way, not public announcement.
Maybe wife got some input??

Agree entirely with @Glumgal . Many of the stories on BB are linked to his shyness, his anxiety and his difficulty with being in the public eye. Unfortunately that was the life he was born into. The security they put round him and the control they put on his activities? What else could they do? It was to control and limit photos etc, no different to what the Royal Family have done. The brand thing ? Well of course that was done and I expect by the lawyers. It's easy to say it's a control from VB. Of course it's a control as the kids get older and start up their own lives the lawyers are telling them to protect them and stop others taking advantage.
He's married into a ruthless family though and the Beckham's just don't fit in. They've been used to being the bigwigs and in US they mean nothing. I expect like all families, where there is a big financial difference, that's very difficult. NP is clearly also controlled.
Best thing is to let him get on with it. He may realise what an idiot he's been.

The Times article suggests Mr P can help launch BB & set him earning serious £. He’s helped others who have married in to the clan. BB perhaps not having his own name fully at his disposal perhaps threw a spanner in planned works & he was angry. I can imagine him sitting with P family lawyers…

Any just points he made were lost by trivial examples he made, IMO, & the stated fact, Mum dance awkwardness the worst tragedy ever anyone had to endure.

But that is not true is it?

The Netflix doco explained and complained.

And they did one each!

Plus - so much of what is written now will be their PR driving conversations on blogs, SM, and so on. Enough will be said to muddy the water, and if their son is made out to be a buffoon - so be it.

They do speak, and then some.

Just in a different way.

Edited

I'm talking about their reaction to this, happening now. If they've got any sense they'll continue to say nothing much about it and if they do speak they should pick their words very carefully and keep their statement short and dignified.

Yes you're so above it all arent you, so above it you cant spot scarcasm

Of course I can spot “scarcasm” :) Apparently, I think I’m superior because my opinions differ to yours but you’re trying to outsmart me. Ironic.

soupyspoon · 25/01/2026 08:50

Happysummerrain · 24/01/2026 21:20

I’ve never said I’m not remotely interested, quite the opposite. My interest is in the reactions to the drama rather than the drama itself so of course I’m aware of some of the details of the situation. It was clear from my first comment that I knew about the situation. Almost everything I’ve said is about the response to it.

KrimboBell · 25/01/2026 08:46

I’ve just read the Tom Bowers book - it’s a good read. I am now very much team Brooklyn.
i don’t think there will be a statement as such but I can already see that there are articles in the press dissing NPB and how controlling etc she and her family are.
Having read ‘House of Beckham’ I’m pretty sure these will have been put there by the Beckhams PR machine. They will do anything to preserve brand Beckham.
I don’t think he will be the last of their children to break out from their clutches.

Kingscallops · 24/01/2026 20:53

Considering you're not interested in speculating you've done exactly that on a thread you're not meant to be remotely interested in.

I don’t disagree but it’s more about spoofs of the dance and people requesting to see it, at least from what I’ve seen anyway. That just seems to be people after a laugh rather than people intentionally trying to insult her.

Those goalposts are moving, again.

Kingscallops · 24/01/2026 20:53

Happysummerrain · 24/01/2026 19:42

That’s an assumption. “I’m not against the support she’s getting” doesn’t mean I’m not against hostility, surely? I’ll just speak for myself rather than you assuming you know my position on anything.

Tableforjoan · 24/01/2026 20:12

Thing is the more bad stories that get printed about Bb and Np the more Bb can feel or even prove he is right.

So either the press are printing bs wanting to just stir the pot and d&v are staying silent rather than calling it out or D&V are doing exactly what he claimed.

Happysummerrain · 24/01/2026 19:42

Kingscallops · 24/01/2026 17:30

Yet not against the hostility towards the Beckhams. 😒 🤔 Fess up, you're as invested as the rest of us.
