Where is it?

Will they even do one?

Has anyone changed their initial viewpoint on the whole thing?

And lastly….Team Brooklyn or Team Beckham?

Fat Tony currently on front of Daily Mail backing BB on inappropriate dancing leaving NP in tears.

Oh my lord - Allison Hammond offers to ‘mediate’.

www.dailymail.co.uk/tv/article-15491289/DJ-Fat-Tony-finally-confirms-EXACT-nature-Victoria-Beckhams-inappropriate-dance-son-Brooklyn-confirms-Nicola-Peltz-left-wedding-dancefloor-floods-tears.html

PinkPanther57 · 23/01/2026 11:16

NP apparently felt upstaged re: dance & VB & ran out of room crying. Fat Tony suggesting it WAS the first dance. VB instructed to put hands on BB’s hips & he sounds blindsided by it & Latin moves. Fat Tony has said her moves not inappropriate in themselves. VB called the most beautiful woman in room.

This was years ago…

NeelyOHara · 23/01/2026 11:15

“Like it or not, if BB has children they will be able to - when they're old enough - contact David and Victoria as their grandparents and have a separate relationship with them. Given this very public statement, they may very well decide they want to hear the other side of the story. They may not be happy if they feel they've been denied a grandparental relationship based on Victoria not doing a dress / supporting a dog charity / dancing inappropriately.”

Except it’s not about a dress is it? Why so desperate to make it sound trivial?
It’s about parading him around for photo opportunities since the day he was born, and planting negative stories in the press about him and his wife.
And the hypothetical grandchildren’s take on this, is one of the weirdest things I’ve ever read.

soupyspoon · 23/01/2026 11:15

Ive been watching a few series about the tudors recently, the Beckham's come no where near that, nor does any modern family.

Kitterkitkat · 23/01/2026 11:14

I'm always faintly suspicious about famous family spats played out in public - it's difficult to assess what is engineered and how accurate it is

Who paid Fat Tony's wedding invoice?

I thought he was a friend of the Beckhams overall, would expect he was paid by the brides family though

Team Beckham

The worst thing to come of all this, is having Rebecca Loos back on the scene.

Ginnyweasleyswand · 23/01/2026 11:09

I think it's a sign of the times as well. Gen Z people are very much encouraged to bear their souls emotionally and to see 'toxicity' at every turn. They are very quick to cut their families out, go low or no contact and to declare that their parents are emotionally abusive, narcissistic and toxic, don't respect their boundaries, etc. They seem to lack the emotional resilience to work disagreements through, preferring to wipe the slate clean and walk away whenever they feel their 'boundaries' haven't been respected.

They never seem to consider how THEIR children will feel about public statements and this sort of behaviour when they're older. It all seems quite narcissistic.

Given this very public statement, they may very well decide they want to hear the other side of the story. There seems no capacity for thinking beyond the self or long-term consequences.

Oh well. Poor future kids, I guess.

Except Harry wasn't young, he was in his late thirties, H&M are almost 20 years older than B&N. Harry and Meghan did it for the money, hundreds of millions if the reports are true, lets' see if Brooklyn and Nicola will do Oprah, Netflix and books in an effort to financially benefit. I bet their PR are being inundated with offers.

Young person growing up, meaning a child who lived through it, like BB

Their ages now are irrelevant, both these men feel aggrieved about their childhoods, they may have grounds, they may not but its about when they were young obviously

If they've got any sense they will say nothing, or at most do a 'recollections may differ' type statement. There is absolutely nothing to be gained for D&V (unfortunate initials there) from adding fuel to this whole tawdry fire.

As for whose team I am on, it's neither. I feel sad for them all. As a mother of young adults I really feel for Victoria. This must be devastating for her. That said, I am cynical about celebs who put their childen in the spotlight and there is an element of 'well this was bound to happen with at least one of them, wasn't it?' It must be hard growing up in the glare of the spotlight when both your parents are massive over-achievers and global icons. If you are pretty average and struggle to make your mark in anything, I imagine you'd need a lot of therapy. Brooklyn seems like a nice kid and when people mock him for trying to find his niche, it must really hurt. He should probably have just gone off quietly to be a paramedic or a quantity surveyor or something. That's where real happiness and fulfillment probably lies for the children of ultra-celebrities. In being as ordinary and below the radar as possible, but in the knowledge that mum and dad can still bail you out if things get financially sticky.

She's always seemed like a decent, pretty astute person and a good mum to me. I'm sure there is some truth to both sides of this and there is no straightforward villain or victim. As is so often the case with these things, there's your truth, my truth and the truth, which is somewhere in the middle. It's very very sad for all concerned.

On another note, I am loving all the wedding memes doing the rounds on facebook at the moment. VB superimposed into photos of the happy couple, standing in front of them doing high kicks, break dancing, jazz hands, cartwheels and elbowing Nicola out of the way and cutting the wedding cake for her. Absolutely priceless. 😂

I think we’re losing the plot on ‘truth’ thing.

There is only THE truth & your opinion.

Ffs there’s ’flawed as parents’ then there’s selling your child’s life to the paparazzi from birth when you’re already very rich

Im not sure its accurate to say 'selling your child's life'

They lived in the eye of the press as did many families at the time, the Geldofs for one and that also turned out horribly, Whinehouse is another, the royals of course Princess Di

He may have, and likely does have beef about that, and needs support with that. But a 'statement to the press' as if he is a statesman or world leader is nonsense. Deal with your issues personally, either with the people that you have got the issue with or your partner/friends supporting you

Katherine Ryan's podcast is excellent about this.

They absolutely shouldn’t put out a press statement. It’s a (/should be a) private family matter and they’ll hopefully behave as adults. Maybe they have had failures at parenting effectively but their son is now an adult (and has been for some time!) and is still flouncing around throwing tantrums… They were really at the inception of social media & its use - they had no more idea than many others how it would come back to bite them.

It’s a shame he didn’t continue with the football, friends, comradeship etc. Doesn’t sound like he was hopeless either.

It sounds like BB grew up in a suffocating, controlled environment. If he suffers from anxiety having an exacting FIL, akin to stuff of Godfather, may not be a cakewalk.

Yes, it probably would've done him good. I wonder if it also first showed a divide that ramped up his anxiety, all the other kids carefree enjoying their sport Vs Brooklyn, whose going to be compared to his well known famous footballer dad and his security team.

I do struggle to believe he needed bodyguards while football training aged 14. I remember there was a kidnap threat to one of the Beckham children (I have it in my head as being Romeo but might be wrong) when they were tiny and so that could have influenced that decision. But perhaps therapy for the parents rather than 24/7 security for the children would've been better.

It's a little hypocritical, to say the least, to say you want privacy in a social media post. And also to say you want privacy for future children when you're making allegations about their family members on SM.

Arguably he's doing what his parents did to him to his kids before they're even born. I'm sure they won't want to read about their grandmother's inappropriate dancing or whatever when they're older, but this will always be there to find. So when they're angst ridden teenagers looking for answers about why they're unhappy they'll be able to find it all.

Even someone's who is a bit dim can surely figure that out? When over on MN we're deciding if putting the back of our child's head on FB posts (only for friends and family) is ok. It's not rocket science.

I find it difficult to believe someone if they claim they want 'privacy' in the most public and incendiary way possible. The media obviously will love this and run with it but it has a short attention span and there are many famous people who manage to keep their family out of the spotlight. He's fuelling the fire and I can only assume that's what he wants to do.

Edited to add: I agree with PP, I don't know the truth so I can't fully believe either party. Like most things, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle and different people interpret the same events differently. However, involving the media from either side is clearly not going to result in healthy family relationships.

Will he be forced to release the dancing vid that only he has access to?

TirednessOnToast · 23/01/2026 10:23

There are some paralells with the Royal family & the Harry & Meghan situation.
In that, a young person grows up in a very unusual set of circumstances, enormously wealthy but fairly isolated from normality. When they meet their 'significant other' they are (both) heavily scruntinised. They may have things to say about their upbringing, but are young & make some public statements, emotion-led, about family of origin. This is then gobbled up by the media & made infinitely worse than it might have been. Family of origin may say nothing publicly but will no doubt leak their own side of things. Very sad for all of them.

Team Victoria - like Prince Harry, if you want Privacy and Peace, just keep out of the limelight, easy enough to do. Not posting an attention seeking essay on insta…

I suppose he felt his feelings hadn't been considered... who knows. Hopefully they'll find a way to heal at some point. From experience of going NC with my family, it isn't easy and takes a lot to get you to that point. I've said some horrible things to other members of my family about my mum, some of which were said in the heat of the moment and others I think were totally justified... I am sure she would say otherwise though.

Edited

Would you go full on Kevin the teen in a public press statement? I’m betting not. I hear you & some examples of abuse can sound crazy out of context but am sure most could better illustrate our point (especially with time & help).

Wintersgirl · 23/01/2026 10:34

WildFlowerBees · 23/01/2026 10:26

All of the statements from people is a bit nuts. No one knows what kind of parents that actually are, we don’t know if everything BB states is fact, we don’t know anything other than there’s a family who’s probably painful estrangement is being played out on the world stage. Doesn’t anyone else think this is so odd that so many people in the world are loving this, making memes at the expense of others and generally enjoying the public fallout. Some have normalised laughing at others pain and being Schadenfreude merchants.

Edited

This for me is the crux, everyone on social media saying "team Victoria or team Brooklyn" sound rather immature imo, they've only heard one side, I hope they never serve on a jury...
