Just thinking about it, if we’d lost the war would we actually be speaking German? Presumably we might learn it as a second language but did French people in occupied France stop speaking French? Genuine question.

Nope. They'd be learning it as a second language, like people learned Russian in the USSR.

The fuck did he just say about Somalians?

Last night he rambled on for over an hour claiming Somalians fought in the streets and killed each other because they don’t have police, and that Somalia isn’t a country. Apparently all Somalians are good at is ‘pirating’.

he literally insulted an entire nation in one hit.

The man is an absolute buffoon and a dangerous one at that.

He’s so full of shit

After ruling out using force (read-the US army aren’t going to back some sort of Greenland invasion as it’s essentially unlawful and will destroy NATO ) he’s now dropped the threat of tariffs. Fucking chump of the highest order.

I do hope you potential reform voters are paying attention to just how messed up your Nigel’s best mate is.

Agreed, interesting that #ImpeachTrump was trending on twatter earlier during his droning.

I will say one thing for the UK, we would have got rid of a leader like this ages ago despite not having a written constitution. Meanwhile this dementia ridden mentally unwell man holds the most powerful office in the world. Truly terrifying

I recall the shock when Harold Wilson resigned. He was an honourable man who resigned once he received his diagnosis.

We need to up our defence spending, rejoin the EU and create a European army.

Brexit was a huge mistake.

It’s the only way. As Carney said earlier, the old ways are no more.

Trump is Putin's lapdog. Farage is Trump's lapdog.

I wonder whether those who listened to Farage and voted for Brexit now regret this?

Hardly! The Americans tended to rock up late in the day when the work was already done!

Firstly, we should remember the American bloodshed on European soil. I don't think we should be flippant about it or seek to diminish it.

Now, for slagging of complete nutcase Trump.
How is his speech going down in America? I bet the MAGA lot love it.

Flip Flopping Fool.

It appears Rutte has sat him on his lap, burped him, changed his nappy & popped his dummy back in.

Am still incredibly confused by all his bluster. If he (as he has said on many occassions as well as today) thinks Xi & Putin are "good guys" who does he need this Golden Dome to protect America from?

That’s what I said earlier! Journalists don’t even bother pointing out the basic incoherence of the whole thing.

askmenow · 21/01/2026 20:37

Shmoigel · 21/01/2026 14:14

He is building a golden dome!

And that golden dome will likely be protecting Europe and you, much like Israel’s golden dome protects them.

It was bloody brilliant!! Those woke shite governments deserved to have their noses rubbed into the mire.

He lobs a bomb into the inert morass to initiate action.
About time someone told NATO and Europe the lie of the land.
They alone CANNOT defend Greenland that’s the reality of the impoverished Forces in Europe.

WAKE UP TO THE REALITY!
The wastrels of Europe have been riding on the shirttails of the US for years.

Time to pay your way and stop playing empathetic suicide by allowing unlimited low value migration

Nurse!

Come on guys see sense. If it wasn’t for the US we’d all be speaking German and a little bit of Japanese now

Latest post. He’s had some help with this one as the ChatGPT long dash is in use, plus the exclamation marks and capitals are surprisingly restrained.

He's not wrong about the meetings. Everything else is fantastical bullshit.

Cyclebabble · 21/01/2026 20:17

It is difficult, but we have to adjust to the fact that the US voted in a man who is clearly mentally unstable and where policies depend on who he is currently having a tantrum with. After many years of rational politicians, it is difficult to accept, but this is where we are. The logical response is to back away from the US and for Europe to focus on its own politics, governance and commerce. Who knows what Trump will do next?

Foggybottomblues · 21/01/2026 20:12

@ I'm not personally responsible for the US or Trump. All I said was under all the crazy he does have some valid points and I believe the UK, Europe and Canada should invest in their forces and security. My dad was in the British Navy and served in Iraq twice so I was born in England and I'm well aware of the sacrifices and important role British forces have played alongside the US. You cannot deny in recent yrs the UK has not invested in their forces and the US has and expects others to do the same. I've never once mentioned Greenland.

Tezza1 · 21/01/2026 20:07

SpanThatWorld · 21/01/2026 19:32

I've heard lots of Americans say that we need to support whoever their president is because of what happened 80 years ago. I used to be on a US-based knitting message board and it was a frequently-made point. I always make the same point about Putin.

As an Australian, I have had similar things said to me on a film discussion board.

He is deranged and scary, changing his mind whenever he is confronted or satisfied with his bullying tactics.

Vance waiting in the wings is a scary prospect..New boss same as the old boss

Posters perhaps aren't aware of the depth of ignorance in the US. In general, people seem to have no knowledge at all about other countries.

I used to visit the US a lot, before Trump (I haven't been since he was elected), and I've been asked
(1) Is London near England? (or maybe it was the other way round, is England near London)
(2) Is Canada east of the US?

I have relatives in the US, and they are appalled by Trump.

@CanadianJohn2 "(2) Is Canada east of the US?"
You are joking, aren't you? Surely they occasionally look at a map, accidentally read something that gives it away, or have conversations about "our northern neighbours".

I have noticed a trend for rather tedious YouTube clips asking young Americans basic questions like "How many weeks in a year"? (answer: 103 weeks). I thought they were just a rather clumsy attempt at satire. Perhaps not.

What has JD Vance been putting in his morning porridge?

His cock.

nicepotoftea · 21/01/2026 19:55

He is talking about Iceland now - does he have a problem with Iceland or does he not know the difference between Greenland and Iceland?
