To think people are missing the main point that Brooklyn Beckham is trying to reveal ?

Firstly I know the goings on of this family are not important news and there are more important things to worry about in the world .
But I’m finding it surprising that people are fixating on things like the wedding dress and the dancing . There are a couple of points in his statements when he is clearly saying what I have always believed- that David and Victoria are not a couple as they like to portray . I’ve always thought David’s disdain of her is quite obvious in the way he talks to her and that she appears lost and soulless but intent on preserving the brand .
BB says “ 'The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
Then - “ media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.'”

To me it seems obvious what he is hinting at ?

Really? I am genuinely shocked people think they are a solid couple. It's very well known in many social circles that they sleep in separate beds and David in particular will shag anyone he likes (check out reddit for this) and they have an open marriage. His body language alone around Victoria is pretty obvious that he despises her, it's really quite sad.

It's absolutely obvious. The term 'married in name only' applies to them.

i think lots of people believe they are a devoted couple ! Especially after recent documentaries selling this .
and yes I agree lots of people are disinterested - as I said it’s not that important just interesting that I think the main point has been missed .

It’s really sad. Children are not products. Things are clearly very wrong in that family.

The one he married into isn't any better.

He earned the money that let him buy a seat in first, though. His kids didn't. That's his point.

Surely that's true of any parent, though? Not just GR. I assume this must have been when his kids were of the age to earn, if not then that is very odd. Even if they were, I still think that is quite cheap of him. I don't like him anyway, he is a nasty man with a piggy red face. He can get in the bin lol.

Have you really thought about this that much? I don’t know the ins and outs of my best friend’s marriage and foibles in their relationship - let alone a couple I’ve never met. You need to get out more.

No I haven’t given it that much thought .. it was just something that interested me as I thought the press hadn’t really looked at that angle .
Thankfully I get out plenty - just been to the gym and now going out for dinner - so I don’t feel the need to be nasty to strangers on the internet !

Essentially Brooklyn seems to be saying that while everyone called him a nepo baby, he didn’t want to be a nepo baby, he wanted to be idle rich and anonymous. And he cares more about his wife’s feelings than his mums.

Sausagedognamedmash · 20/01/2026 19:17

I believe him. After going NC with my father there was so much pressure to reconcile from family and so many rumours amongst family and friends that I ended up having to publicly set the record straight, or at least my side and view of the situation. I couldn't imagine being in the public eye my whole life and having what would feel like the world discussing my choices. I can totally understand why he made the statement he did in the way that he did.

Wapentake · 20/01/2026 19:17

Gahr · 20/01/2026 19:12

I actually think that was tacky of him to leave them in coach. I have no objection to children not being given everything on a platter but letting your family fly cheaply while you fly in luxury is a bit off. Why not fly coach himself if he feels so strongly about it?

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 20/01/2026 19:15

One thing that I think is the most interesting in this - he doesn’t seem to want to be famous. He’s happy with his rich wife and doing their own thing. He’s given up trying to become famous in his own right, he’s not doing his cooking or photography or anything else like this. He’s just quietly living a wealthy life.

And he’s not sold this story. He’s not monetised his family split. He’s not done a celeb interview or spoken out on a platform that would pay him. He’s not talked to a journalist or written a book.

We only know about the drama because the Beckhams can’t just be quiet. We only know he wasn’t as various special occasions because they stuck those private moments all over social media for the brand.

Someone needs to tell Victoria and David to shush. He’s got his knighthood now, the several years long campaign worked. He can ease off and perhaps if they didnt drag their other children to photocalls it wouldn’t be noticeable who’s not there.

I was just pondering that Pail and Linda McCartney had done well in bringing up their children, when I realised that they weren’t a brand in the same way. The music is - that is the product.

But they still did well as the ch who are exceptionally rich and would never need to work do seem semi normal and happy .

Stella had a huge leg up, though. I've never thought she was particularly talented and she comes across as fairly obnoxious.

Gordon Ramsay made his children stand on their own two feet though. He was very vocal at one point that though they grew up with privileges cos of his hard work and wealth, they wouldn't be living off him forever. One famous example being him flying first class and leaving them in coach. He said he worked his arse off for years before he could afford first class. Some people applauded him and some ripped him apart.
I had a friend who worked for him and said he seems a really decent down to earth guy, despite his on screen persona.

I think we ALL know the unspoken truth though?

David Beckham had at least one affair and it has never been admitted. Its an open secret no?

For anyone comparing with the perfect Ramsay clan, Tana Ramsays dad had a secret family.

He does come across as a petulant spoilt brat.

He has been bestowed with more wealth, opportunity and privilege that people could ever dream of. He has resource, choice, options, everything a young man can wish for.

He will never have to worry about paying a mortgage, being sacked from a job and having to draw benefits, not being able to afford to get his kids into a decent school or worry about medical costs.

the trouble with people like him is that he doesn't value what he has because he has never had to lift a finger, graft or feel the stress of everyday life. He lacks resilience and resourcefulness, valuable life skills, just woe is me, poor me.

I can't feel an ounce of empathy towards someone who just has to waft through life. Jeez if he's that screwed up by his parents he can even source the best counselling money can buy. For the next 10 years if that's what he needs!

"To me it seems obvious what he is hinting at ?"

Yes, or he could just be working for the "brand" by getting them headlines?

I always thought they were an actual real loving couple but I don"t really pay too much attention to them so might have missed something.

As I said in another post if he doesn"t like how they choose to conduct themselves he could go "off grid" somewhere and live quite happily?

For me the need to still be in the media at their age and wealth level is the most disturbing aspect, they make money from it but they also seem to actually enjoy all the photographers etc. or is that just a part of the "job" if you want the income stream to continue?

I suppose the problem with going too far off the beaten track or hiding out in some less developed country for someone like BB is the kidnap risk?

Vaxtable · 20/01/2026 18:42

Well he could have left home at 18 and made his own way, cutting back on SM and the rest

did he? No he continued to use it to his advantage, so I have no sympathy

Their life is a business.
Lots of celebrity couples' and politicians' lives are a business.
Charles and Diana's marriage was a business arrangement.

I think their son should have kept quiet tbh.
His parents both worked hard to give him the life he has.
He's married to a billionaire's daughter thanks to their efforts.
Ungrateful nepo baby.

He does come across as a petulant spoilt brat.

Look at the rest of his instagram and the way he writes is a totally different style. He uses different vocabulary and it just doesn’t match what was written in that post. I’m not saying that someone took over his instagram and physically typed it for him but he definitely had some help, he talks about his parents and their team so why wouldn’t he have his own team with all the money his in-laws have?

He did, until right before this got posted.

I think parents using images and videos of their children and babies to make money is abusive and should be illegal. So you’re right OP, he is speaking to a larger point and that so few get it is disturbing. You don’t own your children, you have no right to put them in the public eye without their consent. And you certainly shouldn’t be profiting from it. Sadly these people also appear to have zero shame.

I wouldn't come out and say so. This statement is a threat - leave me alone or else. More info is the "or else".

That’s how I read it. As a threat that he’ll expose more if they don’t stop interfering.

Gahr · 20/01/2026 18:34

Lollylavender · 20/01/2026 17:50

Does anyone ‘like’ them? What’s likeable about a nouveau riche footballer and a ex pop band singer? Genuinely?

I don't think that they are all that well liked at all. David won some points for 'respectfully' standing in the queue to see the Queen lie in state rather than jumping it, but I don't think that they are generally adored. If people side with them, it would more be because of a general disdain for nepo babies than because they love the Beckhams. Which is ironic, considering it is their fault that he is a nepo in the first place.

Brooklyn didn’t know him when he was building his fortune and probably has no idea how tough his FIL is (his daughter is unlikely to either).

Do we want to dwell a moment on how tough DB is? A very competitive man - with enough stories rumbling around over the years about how controlling he is, how dogged, and so on.

He is like the royal men - hiding behind wifey.

In this case she gladly walks out front. In her silk nighty. That she wears to weddings...

David Beckham isn’t in the same toughness league as Nelson Peltz. DB is Jake Paul to NP’s Anthony Joshua.

DB may be more (superficially at least) likeable/popular but Peltz is a self-made billionaire who is immensely powerful and notoriously aggressive. I would not want him as a father-in-law and definitely not as an enemy.

So no pressure Brooklyn. Better keep the missus happy. Or else.

I’m not on instagram

I don’t know the man but I can’t see that if it was written by a prof or a team as you say they would have posted it with so many grammatical
errors and in this clunky way - he could have said the same in a third of the words - obv it’s not going to be jokey like other posts 🤷‍♀️
