Aibu to feel humiliated by this

So my DH had a peloton ride today. When he finished he went upstairs (very sweaty) and sat on the ensuite toilet seat to "cool down a bit", had a shower then came downstairs and sat and had his lunch. While he was eating I took some clean clothes upstairs to put away. Part way through I needed the loo so went to use the toilet. I sat down and the seat was wet. I very quickly realised I was sitting in DH's sweat! 🤮

I feel pretty disgusted by this and we ended up having a big row over it. I feel justified in being upset but not sure if I'm making a bigger thing out of it than is necessary. Not sure what I'm asking, I think I just needed to vent. I'd appreciate some perspective.

No idea why you’d be humiliated. Yes I’d be annoyed and would tell him to make sure he cleaned up after himself. But there’s bigger things to worry about surely. Unless some massive drip feed is coming….

Boomer55 · 17/01/2026 16:32

Best get over it. He was sweaty, and hadn’t covered anything in crap or anything. 🙄

You are very easily disgusted!

When you ditch this chap, make sure you find one who does not sweat.

I hope you're not thinking about Andrew M-W!!!!!!!!

😂

Jinglejells · 17/01/2026 16:30

Do you know what humiliate means op? I think you are confused about the word.

SliceofTosst · 17/01/2026 16:28

Massive overreaction. Not particularly nice but it's a bit of sweat. Not like it was shit.

You - Urgh grim, I just sat in a puddle of your sweat.
Him - Christ, I'm an animal. I meant to clean up. Sorry.
You - Please don't do that again, it brought my bile up.
Him - Of course. D'you wanna cuppa?

Too easy 😂

MyDeftDuck · 17/01/2026 16:22

He probably didn’t realise just how sweaty his thighs and arse were, hence he left a wet patch………but getting so worked up and having a row when simply pointing it out and asking him to be mindful next time would suffice is just OTT.

And feeling humiliated when all you needed to do was grab a wash cloth and wash your legs and bum…….sorted!

If the shower is in the same room as the toilet, which is how I read it, it’s far more likely to have been condensation from shower steam surely? Sweat would have dried by the time he showered, dried, dressed, came downstairs and sorted his lunch.

Hmm, yes.

Notmyreality · 17/01/2026 16:20

Why on earth would any one be “humiliated” by that?

ThisBoldFinch · 17/01/2026 16:19

LTB, ducks in a row

I think you humiliated your DH more than the other way around.

Yes this! How ridiculous to make such a mountain out of a molehill

This.

Youve had sex with him before right? Surely you’ve had his sweat on you before, and other stuff.

BruisedNeckMeat · 17/01/2026 16:17

I think you humiliated your DH more than the other way around.

MaggieBsBoat · 17/01/2026 16:16

Do you have sex with this man? Have you come across his bodily fluids before?

Hiw old are you? Is this what people are talking about when they talk about millenial or Gen Z snowflakes?

seaelephant · 17/01/2026 16:16

Humiliated? I'd think 'ew' and then immediately forget about 0.5s later, long before I was back in the room with him. I've had plenty male excretions around me and I presume you have too or you wouldn't be on this site.

Delphiniumandlupins · 17/01/2026 16:16

If anyone was humiliated surely it's the person who sweats so much the loo seat is still wet some time later? I can understand being a bit grossed out but why not just ask him to make sure he wipes the seat if it's wet. It's part of the normal "leave the toilet in the condition you like to find it" process.

KrimboBell · 17/01/2026 16:13

Not nice but hardly worth having a row over - just ask him to wipe the seat next time.

Livpool · 17/01/2026 16:10

How is it humiliating?!

I can’t believe you started a row about something so trivial. Just tell him to make sure he wipes the seat.

YABU

Wolfpa · 17/01/2026 16:10

How is that humiliating? It’s a bit gross but people do gross things occasionally

FullLondonEye · 17/01/2026 16:09

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 17/01/2026 15:39

a man who doesn’t sweat you say? That’s not the win you might think…

😂You win the thread.

As for the OP on the other hand... Have you not had sex with this man, your husband?

Also I'm not sure humiliated means what you think it means.

Clefable · 17/01/2026 16:08

It wouldn’t bother me really. But I do a lot of exercise and am often sweaty and that seems to have the opposite effect on DH Grin

It's pretty gross and definitely need you husband to clean up after himself, but not sure it's really something to get 'upset' about...

Whosthetabbynow · 17/01/2026 16:05

Fucked off, yes. Do you understand what humiliated means in its correct context?

pictoosh · 17/01/2026 16:05

It wouldn't have bothered me...I'd have just given it a wipe.
Your upset and feeling of humiliation seems a strong reaction.

RottenBanana · 17/01/2026 16:04

Its just a bit of sweat.
I assume you have sex with this man?
