I used to talk to this guy we meet on some app at the time called “Ki he was three year younger I was 17 when we started talking obviously nothing sexual was talked about due to the age gap at that time. Fast forward a few years and our last messages to each other was 2023. He’s now deleted me from Facebook so I guess that’s a certain he wants nothing to do with me. I did think about him in that time but just had so much other stuff going on and didn’t message neither did he he mind. I’m tempted to message him for clousure but I guess deep down it’s not right. Forgot to say they had been light flirting over the years but never meet in person mainly to do with ne

How would you feel if a 14 year old girl was “chatting” to a 17 year old boy?

Dress it up however you want to justify your behaviour- it is fucking weird. He can see that now, I’m sure.

Regardless though it doesn’t matter the reason, you’ve been deleted, that is your closure.

Funny how I’m being called rude yet people are swearing at me. No need to put chatting in quotes we were just chatting about school and holidays normal things

I think what people are picking up on is the age 14years for him and the 17years for you.

You should have explained that you are both in your 20s and when you were 17years you innocently spoke with a 14year old, although I can't see what those ages have in common, but I do understand that things like gaming you speak with all ages, I don't know if that was the case or just one to one private chatting which tbh is a little weird.

You said there was light flirting, however you don't say when ? When he was in his 20s or 14/15 which isn't appropriate.

I would just forget about it, he's deleted you so he has made the decision that he doesn't want any contact with you.

He was in his 20’s and it was instigated by him.

Yeah he had a clear out and realised it was weird behaviour hence why you were part of the clear out. You don’t “clear out” people you actually like OP.

How am I rude exactly? When I’m the one being laughed at and called a predator.

17 year olds are not adults

You are incredibly rude, borderline incoherent, and appear to have a very strange lack of boundaries and instincts -- most adults would be horrified to discover they had inadvertently been talking to a 14 year old online, and would have immediately ended the online relationship once they found out, even if that was after the younger party was an adult.

In the nicest possible way, this is someone you've never met, and with whom you've had no contact in two or more years. He has now deleted you. Just leave it there.

Excuse for what exactly. I didn’t actually do anything.

You asked if you should contact him, we all think you shouldn’t. That’s not going to change.

What more do you want from this thread?

Leave him alone.

I’d ask for this thread to be removed as well, otherwise you’ll keep coming back to it and winding yourself up about it. It isn’t good for your mental health to do that and I wish you all the best.

Him deleting you is closure. In fact it's a massive slamming of the door in your face!

MMO · 16/01/2026 16:13

You never said how old you are now? How long ago did this chatting take place? I'd cut your losses and not even think about it going forward.

Bit weird you chatting away with a 14 year old when 17.

Not surprised he deleted you now.

I think he most likely has had a clear out as he doesn’t see you being in his life any more. In which case you should accept it and move on. It’s really not a big deal. People come and go in our lives all the time.

Whyohwhy88 · 16/01/2026 15:29

JayJayj · 16/01/2026 14:42

You clearly have issues reading. 20 and 23 fine. 17 and 20 fine. 14 and 17 not fine.

And you’re clearly very rude

I agree with this tbh. It’s not so much the age gap, it’s the age at which it started. The maturity gap is much bigger between a 14 and 17 year old than it is a 20 & 23 year old.

He has probably realised exactly what everyone on here is saying- that is was weird- and deleted you. Accept that and move on.

Could just be a normal clear out why does everyone on here always have to view people as a bad person

Where have I mocked anyone? I merely pointed out that had the person read other comments they would see I’m not the only one who thinks that a 17 year old should not be messaging a 14 year old.

I have no interest in your sexuality. It’s wrong. End of.

It’s not exactly a big age gap.

Have you posted about something similar before Op? I swear I read a post recently about a lady who wanted closure of a "friendship" that didn't even actually sound like a friendship in the first place. More an unusual obsession. How old are you now?

No I haven’t
