To believe there will be no justice fo Renee Good under the Trump administration

Nodramalama85 · 13/01/2026 18:23

Renee Good and the way the American government has responded. The broader shift toward more aggressive ICE operations and federal enforcement under the Trump administration is clearly influencing this response. Surely there should be more demand for accountability, transparency, and a government that protects all its people—not just those enforcing the law.

Am I being unreasonable to want justice for Reneee and to be concerned about the broader implications? Surely this sets a precedent for aggressive, potentinally leathal enforcement, even in communities not typically associated with immigration enforcement. Is America moving towards authoritarian practices? Under Trump is this a surprise?

He’s an immigration agent, not a traffic cop. Her blocking traffic is not his jurisdiction. The video captures him saying, “stupid bitch” when he shoots her. This is tucked up on so many levels. They’re conditioning US citizens to be too frightened to exercise their First Amendment Constitutional rights, for fear that they might fall foul of an immigration agent who doesn’t follow protocol. The Right are saying she should have been home with her kids, rather than out exercising her First Amendment rights (her kids were at school, but that’s by the by). The message is clear, and we should read our history books to get a glimpse of the outcome. Those who fail to learn from history are destined to repeat it. No matter how thick their presumed bubble is and despite their “it could never happen here” attitude.

Do you believe your own blather.
She was impeding an ICE operation, that absolutely is his jurisdiction. If you are going to spout off about the law, take two minutes to learn it rather than repeat lies that don't stand up to a second of critical thinking.

To avoid lawful arrest she drove her car into one of the arresting officers.

And the man who called her a fucking bitch was not the man who shot, but a man who watched his colleague get hit, deliberately, by a car.

Impeding federal officers is not a first amendment right, it is a crime. It is absolutely protocol, even specific protocol signed in Minnesota by Tim Walz, that an LEO is within their rights to shoot someone who drives at them.

Her death is a tragedy but it was made inevitable by people who constantly tell egregious, hysterical lies like those all over your post. There are FIVE outright lies in your short post, all so you can whip yourself and others up into a state of hysteria and feel like freedom fighters.

None of this is true. You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself. This is utterly repugnant.

To break it down very simply, even if all the Trump administration say is true (it isn't), in civilised societies we don't summarily execute people because they won't do as they're told. The excuses are fucking ridiculous. "Oh, she behaved badly". So fucking what? Do we now shoot everyone we judge to be behaving badly?

We in the UK do not. But this isn't the UK and the US police forces have the problem that anyone they deal with could have a gun...he completely over reacted, his gun was out and ready... but knowing that the police are armed, that they could shoot you, seeing a cop in front of you reach for his gun... Would you drive away when one of them is trying to stop you and another has told you to get out of the car and tried to open the door?

He was a feral officer, she was interfering with him carrying out his duties. A federal crime in the US.

But he was all to ready to shoot her.

Would you want to get out of a car when a masked, unidentified man comes screaming at you to get out of your car? I’ve heard talk that the other agent was telling her to move on, so she may well have been following those orders. I’ve heard it’s a well known ploy with ICE to give conflicting information, so the victim will inevitably make the wrong move, and then they pounce.

JR would have clearly seen the steering wheel was being turned to the right, so he knew her intention was to drive away from him. He wasn’t hit. Reports of him going to hospital are false, as he walked away from the scene perfectly well.

Even if she was protesting, she wasn’t doing anything illegal, and she certainly didn’t deserve to be executed in cold blood. The immediate words of JR after he shot her say a lot about his true intentions. He didn’t like that she didn’t submit to their demands, and, in his mind. he was going to make her pay.

He may try to justify his first shot as being self defence, but why then did he make the second and third shot through the open window? She was no threat at that point. He did it out of pure anger and rage, just as he did with that first shot.

Unidentified man! The car had flashing blue lights, he was wearing a vest saying police and she was talking to the guy who shot her as was her wife!

Sartre · 14/01/2026 06:50

Of course not but this isn’t just a Trump thing, it’s an America thing. I wouldn’t exactly say Breonna Taylor received proper justice back in 2020 either.

She wasn't going about her daily business she was blocking the road to stop ice. Her wife was out of the car filming ice agents. She ignored a request to get out of the vehicle. She drove at and clipped the man who shot her...if like the poor Brazilian who was shot by British police she was carrying out her daily life, I think the reaction would be completely different from the top down.

She was interfering with ICE. They asked her to get out of the car and she moved the car forward. I don’t like trump but she should have stayed home and not gotten involved. She spent 5 hours causing trouble. Should she have died, no but there are a lot of problems in some of these states with illegals.

Wonderlandpeony · 14/01/2026 04:40

It wasn't justifiable self defence. His actions were wholly disproportionate to hers ....It amazes me that there are still people watching the videos and desperately clinging onto the narrative that it was self defence. It wasn't.

She has been killed because of her own foolish actions. She hit that officer with her car and showed total disregard for him. Its awful and it's sad but I don't think he should be punished for her actions that day.

Saw something on New York Times instagram earlier-

“Six federal prosecutors in Minnesota resigned on Tuesday over the Justice Department’s push to investigate the widow of Renee Good, the women killed by an ICE agent, and the department’s reluctance to investigate the shooter, according to people with knowledge of their decision.

Joseph Thompson, a career federal prosecutor, was among those who resigned. He objected to the investigation into Good’s wife, as well as to the Justice Department’s refusal to include state officials in investigating whether the shooting itself was lawful, the people familiar with his decision said.”

So, by the sounds of it… no.

Fucking hell.😮

It's gratifying to know there are still Americans who stand up for what is right.

Divebar2021 · 13/01/2026 23:53

I’m happy to believe ICE can “ arrest”’someone for interfering with a federal agent I just don’t believe her actions qualify as interfering. She does have her car parked half way across the road but you can see her wave another car ahead of her. So if the argument is that she is interfering in a physical way then I don’t see that standard being met. She appears to be preparing to leave so the most judicious action would have been to let her leave. He goes up to her and circles her car and then stands in front of her car. How is that evidence of her obstructing him?

Sadly I keep being fed other videos of ICE agents behaving appallingly. They really are a sack of shit. They followed two women in an unmarked car and when they didn’t stop for them they followed them all the way home and forced them out of the car by smashing the side window with a firearm. So you have 2 women ( one seemingly a US citizen… I didn’t see the other woman ) detained and cuffed for not stopping for an unmarked car. So are the Trump supporters arguing that ICE can randomly stop any car they want in an unmarked vehicle and failure to do so falls within their remit? How does the passenger in that car get arrested ?
The other film I saw was of a young black lad who was
picked up on his lunch break and dragged off to some centre miles away and they wouldn’t let him open his phone to show them his passport photo to prove he was a US citizen. When he was finally allowed to do that and released they wouldn’t drive him back ( no coat / snow). The interesting thing about the press conference this lad gave was the police officer stood behind him / with him? I’m slightly unsure how the police are fitting into all this. They’re certainly having to clear up a whole load of mess.

He will not be the President forever. He has two years.

Will Trump be able to pardon every single ICE agent?

He could use an auto pen like Biden who pardoned over 4000 people including his own son for any crimes he might have committed that no one knew about at that point.

MynameisJune · 13/01/2026 23:40

There will be no justice, a Go fund me for the vile PoS who shot her has raised over $500k in a day or so.

Americans, especially white Americans, are so very keen to blame Renee Good because if they voice the truth, that she was shot dead after doing absolutely nothing wrong, then they can also be victims of the same actions.

In their eyes it has to be her fault, because if not the truth is too hard to stomach.

He's still an armed us federal officer and as such interference in him carrying out his duty is a federal crime. Irrespective of that... they were all carrying guns....If I shouted out I've got a bomb at Heathrow airport tomorrow there's a chance that I might be shot as the British police there have guns...so I'm not stupid enough to shout it out just in case. Here she ignored the fed trying to open the door and get her out...What's the worst that could have happened, she's handcuffed, arrested and bailed out again... instead she's driven off, clipping the other cop... stupid, stupid, stupid and bloody sad.

She did not drive at him. The agent stepped in front of her vehicle and then shot her three times. Regardless of her actions, this constitutes excessive force, and there is evidence to support that. He was swearing at her, while she remained calm. His aggression escalated rapidly. After she was shot, an unidentified ICE agent called her a “f b.”
This does not appear to be just, moral, or defensible. It seems aggressive, intentional, and unlawful. Exercising her right to freedom of speech is not the same as shouting “bomb” in an airport — it is protected and non-threatening behavior.

What's the worst that could have happened, she's handcuffed, arrested and bailed out again...

They have her on bodycam footage. Absolutely no reason why they couldn't approach her later and do this if she's committed some sort of offence.

She wasn't going about her daily business she was blocking the road to stop ice.

She wasn't blocking the road, as evidenced by the fact that when the first ICE officer approaches her there are vehicles drawing past her own and continuing on their way.

She ignored a request to get out of the vehicle

Yes, and obeyed the simultaneous one to "MOVE!", so which of these conflicting instructions should she have obeyed, and how was she supposed to know which of them carried the penalty of instantaneous execution for non-compliance?

This is what I believe to be the case. I think JR should be held accountable, but there also seem to be systemic issues that contributed to Renée’s shooting. Reduced training, aggressive raids, and limited oversight have been documented across ICE operations. Lawsuits and reports suggest this isn’t an isolated incident, but part of a wider accountability problem.

Agree.

And part of the reason this works even on those who are not Trump followers is the belief that 'it was her fault' (she was a domestic terrorist/bad mother/wouldn't follow orders) therefore 'it won't happen to me'.

So people can distance themselves from the situation and don't have to be outraged/protest/fearful because, see, they themselves are not at risk.

'If only she hadn't... she wouldn't have died' 'I would never do... therefore I'm safe'. It's a nice (fake) cosy bubble they have created for themselves.

Yep. It's classic "first they came for the.... but I didn't speak up...."
