To believe there will be no justice fo Renee Good under the Trump administration

Renee Good and the way the American government has responded. The broader shift toward more aggressive ICE operations and federal enforcement under the Trump administration is clearly influencing this response. Surely there should be more demand for accountability, transparency, and a government that protects all its people—not just those enforcing the law.

Am I being unreasonable to want justice for Reneee and to be concerned about the broader implications? Surely this sets a precedent for aggressive, potentinally leathal enforcement, even in communities not typically associated with immigration enforcement. Is America moving towards authoritarian practices? Under Trump is this a surprise?

There's video evidence from several different angles, showing her accelerating her car directly at him. The officer had been hospitalised several weeks before from a similar incident from a member of one the groups targeting ICE.

The video footage from his own camera shows that she was turning her wheel to a full right lock - not towards him. It also shows his feet are out of the way of the car. It also shows him drop his hand to the car when he decides to shoot her, like he thinks that he can try and stop it from moving. That isn’t her hitting him.

The fact he was in another car related incident is irrelevant. That doesn’t give him licence to shoot. It means that he needed proper counselling, not to be back in the field with a firearm if it was going to impact his approach.

Snippit · 14/01/2026 11:11

ICE reminds me of what the Nazis did in Germany during and before WW11. People were disappeared as with ICE, no due process, it’s terrifying and abhorrent, what in the bell is happening in America??

Steven Miller is whispering in Trumps ear, this is his baby. If you listen to him speak he’s absolutely unhinged. It’s ironic really, his family fled from persecution in the late 1800’s and settled in America, some of his family have spoken out at how ashamed they are of his vile behaviour.

She did hit him though? There’s footage on CNN of her driving into him and carrying him forward a short distance, which is aiui when the shots are fired.

Have I got that wrong? It seems to pretty clearly make it self-defence (or possibly defence of someone else if the person being hit isn’t the shooter). It’s probably not even an excessive use of force.

What footage is there that she hit him and carried him? The footage from his phone camera certainly doesn’t show that, nor does the bystander footage.

Propaganda works. For those who fear to question.

Clearly there won't be, they literally had her, a private citizen with no power or influence, smeared by the President within hours of her death and continue to do so at the highest level. It's both pathetic and deeply sinister.

What next - any guy with a gun can go shoot someone and say 'Oh, I was just trying to help ICE, that person was an illegal immigrant and a criminal and threatened me and I had to shoot him' and the government goes 'Sure, fine', no questions asked?

oscalo · 14/01/2026 10:52

Anyone who sets foot in America now for whatever purpose bears some blame for supporting this regime. No excuses.

I doubt anyone would go to North Korea as easily, conscience or safety wise, so what's the difference please?

For the 85,000th time, no she did not use her car as a weapon. She did not aim at him, she did not hit him. She also wasn't blocking the road as other vehicles were easily able to drive past her.

"his instinctive response was to shoot"

Think about that for a moment. Most people's instinctive reaction to thinking they might be hit by a car would be to get out of the way, maybe while also shouting or screaming. Possibly even to pee their pants a little. But you're claiming that this man's instinctual response to perceived danger was to kill someone.

Is it me, or is that every single kind of fucked up?

Agreed. They’re trained to de-escslate.

It occurs to me that, as he was filming at the time - ie, looking at and through his phone- he would not have seen her turning the wheel. I think he was concentrating on taking a video to support an arrest for obstruction of ICE activities, a 360 degree video of her car’s relative position on the road. So focused low and wide. He had remained very calm while RG’s wife got on his face and tried to wind him up

while he was still in front of the car, RG’s wife called ‘Drive Baby Drive’, the car did indeed start moving forward, - caught him ? - and his instinctive response was to shoot I don’t think he was looking for an excuse to shoot her

He was a feral officer, she was interfering with him carrying out his duties. A federal crime in the US.

But he was all to ready to shoot her.

He was a feral officer

You've got that right.

CarlaLemarchant · 14/01/2026 09:48

I think the Trump administration is starting to realise that they may have misjudged this one. Popularity for Vance is dropping, they are being less vocal about the domestic terrorism label and Trump has started to use more sympathetic language about her.

US people need to keep the pressure up on this one.

Trump signed an executive order that overturned the need for federal agents to wear body cams. No one should be filming with a phone and carrying an automatic weapon in their other hand.

That is not an excuse. He did not need to shoot her in the face, let alone three times. He could have shot out the wheels of the car as they are trained to do. He is not one of the newly hired agents. He is a veteran agent, who had been through proper training, and a military veteran.

No excuse.

Trump sent his Stormtroopers in and they are acting exactly as intended.

Why would he punish them? Seems odd that the federal government can override the state’s wishes as to the need for the presence of ICE stormtroopers though.

We in the UK do not. But this isn't the UK and the US police forces have the problem that anyone they deal with could have a gun...he completely over reacted, his gun was out and ready... but knowing that the police are armed, that they could shoot you, seeing a cop in front of you reach for his gun... Would you drive away when one of them is trying to stop you and another has told you to get out of the car and tried to open the door?

“He completely overreacted”

Well yes, that’s the point everyone’s making. His complete overreaction was to execute her. That is illegal and he should be prosecuted for it. Decent people in the Attorneys office are resigning because the government are trying to ensure this doesn’t happen.

Also, whilst you are trying to speak with complete confidence about what would and wouldn’t happen in the UK, you are clearly uneducated about it. If a firearms officer shoots someone, they (or their colleagues) will administer first aid, they will then be removed from front line duties and there will be an independent investigation by the IOPC. I promise you that if a UK firearms officer had done what that ICE officer did, they would be facing prosecution.

Oh and your bomb analogy is a pile of shit and not remotely comparable to Renee Good manoeuvring her vehicle away and clipping someone. We all know he shot her because she pissed him off and that is murder.

Goodness, the gullible and the liars are out in force this morning.

@Nodramalama85 Sadly, I suspect you're right. I do think, though, that the American public overall is starting to see the light about this administration. Whether things can still be turned around is another question.

He’s an immigration agent, not a traffic cop. Her blocking traffic is not his jurisdiction. The video captures him saying, “stupid bitch” when he shoots her. This is tucked up on so many levels. They’re conditioning US citizens to be too frightened to exercise their First Amendment Constitutional rights, for fear that they might fall foul of an immigration agent who doesn’t follow protocol. The Right are saying she should have been home with her kids, rather than out exercising her First Amendment rights (her kids were at school, but that’s by the by). The message is clear, and we should read our history books to get a glimpse of the outcome. Those who fail to learn from history are destined to repeat it. No matter how thick their presumed bubble is and despite their “it could never happen here” attitude.

The video captures him saying, “stupid bitch” when he shoots her.

Sorry, this isn't accurate. He (or one of the other agents with him, it isn't completely clear) says, 'fucking bitch' after he shoots her and before he refuses medical assistance.

I just want to make sure the true horror of his actions are represented.

Actual police officers in the States can receive less than two weeks training, depending on state.

Cars are always potential weapons. And people in the cars potentially carry guns in the US. A car blocking the street to ICE is not just blocking the street it is someone with a weapon committing a crime. In this case they also used that weapon to assault an ICE officer. So we have a criminal who assaulted one federal officer with a deadly weapon (the car) trying to make a get away with that weapon. And the victim of her assault making a split second decision of how to react.

It is one reason I am glad members of the public are not allowed to carry guns in the UK and that the police don’t regularly carry guns here. Give people guns and such outcomes are an inevitable consequence.

I don’t know what training Jonathan Ross received at ICE, and whether he deliberately ignored it, however, I do know that actual police officers are trained not to shoot into a moving car. Because the car can go out of control, killing bystanders and other police officers. You do not want a vehicle travelling down the road with a dead driver behind the wheel. Actual polie officers are trained to shoot tyres. Actual police officers are also trained to assess the seriousness of the offender—did they just murder 30 people, or did they block a street? ICE agents either have sub-par training, choose to ignore the training, or a mixture of both.

Do you believe your own blather.
She was impeding an ICE operation, that absolutely is his jurisdiction. If you are going to spout off about the law, take two minutes to learn it rather than repeat lies that don't stand up to a second of critical thinking.

To avoid lawful arrest she drove her car into one of the arresting officers.

And the man who called her a fucking bitch was not the man who shot, but a man who watched his colleague get hit, deliberately, by a car.

Impeding federal officers is not a first amendment right, it is a crime. It is absolutely protocol, even specific protocol signed in Minnesota by Tim Walz, that an LEO is within their rights to shoot someone who drives at them.

Her death is a tragedy but it was made inevitable by people who constantly tell egregious, hysterical lies like those all over your post. There are FIVE outright lies in your short post, all so you can whip yourself and others up into a state of hysteria and feel like freedom fighters.

There are far more lies in your post, you aren't fooling anybody except yourself and your fellow numpties.

Sweetiedarling7 · 14/01/2026 07:51

There is no justice in the US anymore because trump controls the supreme court and even at lower levels judges are targeted for revenge if they dare to go against his demands.

He weaponises the law against anyone he doesn’t like and rallies his supporters with childish social media rants where he calls those he deems enemies stupid names in his shouty capital letter accusations.
