Saw the spectacle for myself. As a woman in my late 20s I have absolutely no desire to participate in this. Seems like an outdated 2013 “quirky” trend that won’t die. I’m always surprised at the diversity in those who participate - old/young, thin/bigger etc.

Maybe I’m getting older but I really just thought “put it away”

Saw the paps at the St I got off and would be mortified being photographed in my knickers.

Some of the hairy, Casper legs were quite frankly gross!

Come summer there will be just as much flesh on display in shorts and skirts

SouthernNights59 · 12/01/2026 23:49

MooFroo · 12/01/2026 22:38

Ridiculous and should be banned.
Simple - put clothes on in public, why encourage people to walk around in knickers?!

Banned! Confused

It's a bit of fun, what a prudish lot you all are. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest, and if I was younger I would possibly join in.

GKG1 · 12/01/2026 23:30

Body hair isn’t gross.

Perrylobster · 12/01/2026 23:28

It’s for exhibitionists. I try not to give it any attention. I do find it pretty 🤮 though..

JoleneYouCanHaveHim · 12/01/2026 23:19

Good lord the pomposity on this thread about pale legs 🤣🤣🤣

I think I'd quite like two layers of fabric between strangers bums and public transport seats. It feels more hygienic, even though I'm not sure my theory stands up to scientific rigor.

As for seeing a diverse range of pasty and hairy legs, crack on.

Your crucial mistake is thinking tube seats are hygienic to start with! I was on one of the night tubes once and there was half an open pack of raw chicken breasts upturned over a couple of seats (no, I can't explain it either - you see some weird shit on the night tube Grin).

I've also seen a pigeon take quite a large dump over an overground seat.

And that's not even counting all the shoes that get wiped on the seats because people have to put their feet up, the air pollution that settles into the fabric (if you blow your nose after getting the tube, it will come out black), and the general dust and grime that simply comes with millions of humans shedding hair and dead skin and doing all the other things we do like spilling drinks and letting dogs up on the seats.

So all that said, I can't fathom why I'd sit on a tube seat in just my underwear.

ScaredOfFlying · 12/01/2026 22:58

Makes me a bit nostalgic for the days when I had free time for this kind of silly nonsense instead of a school run to do and a team to manage!

GentleSheep · 12/01/2026 22:45

Bring back the days of Extreme Ironing, I say!

Yes, agree wholeheartedly.

Every year this happens I remind myself not to go on the tube that day!

EsmaCannonball · 12/01/2026 22:40

'Does Dettol make an upholstery spray?' is what I'm thinking.

I assure you the tube seats have had worse on them than thighs and underwear (which is a very good reason why I find this baffling, but then I don't take part).

AgnesMcDoo · 12/01/2026 22:42

Yuck

not appropriate

Does your username indicate you take part 😁

I don't live near London

I do, however, show about the same amount of flesh when I go to see RHPS 🤷‍♀️

NewPinkJacket · 12/01/2026 22:17

Proaky · 12/01/2026 21:45

I get your point but the participants are the ones making their body hair and skin a public spectacle

How do you make the colour of your skin a public spectacle?

Or your leg hair for that matter?

Cocomelon67 · 12/01/2026 22:16

Can’t get too worked up about it. You’d see much more at the beach.

BunnyLake · 12/01/2026 22:13

BriefEncountersOfTheThirdKind · 12/01/2026 22:07

It's just legs

And the fact people of all shapes and sizes take part should be celebrated not scorned

Well-done those people on not worrying about what judgemental arseholes might think

BunnyLake · 12/01/2026 22:12

Attention seeking Gen whatever they are. Maybe they don’t feel the cold. Not for me. Let’s hope no one has skid marks.

A) I have no idea what this event is
B) Is it hair on the women’s legs that you object to?

Edited: I now see that you’ve edited to add a link. Thanks (but I’m not clicking, simply because I have no desire to see a load of Londoners in their pants).

On those grounds, and on the grounds of your reply about hairy legs, YANBU.

Edited

Quoting myself (!) as it won’t let me do a second edit.

OP, When I saw your edit that included the link, I didn’t notice that you’d also edited the ‘legs’ comment to include a judgement about skin tone. Not cool. YABU.

XenoBitch · 12/01/2026 21:57

Oh no... legs out. The Victorian times called and asked for you to return.

peanutbuttertoasty · 12/01/2026 21:52

LighthouseLED · 12/01/2026 21:47

Skin colour is not a choice. Completely wrong to make fun of any skin tone.

This. Not ok.

Screamingabdabz · 12/01/2026 21:51

I’m not a fan. I prefer people - especially men - covered up thanks.
