The more tenuous the better.

I don’t want any of your “My mum used to clean for a famous pop star” because that turns into pages of tiresome questions and “Oh go on tell us who it is/give us a clue/no I can’t sorry”

I want such tenuous connections that nobody will bother asking follow up questions.

I’ll start.

My dog was Mr Tumble’s dog’s mum.

Waiting in the chemist for my child's prescription to be made up, Amoxicillin, ear infection, son aged about 3 was grizzling, the late Rick Parfitt of Status Quo came in and said "what's the matter mate?"

I use to speak to an elderly lady when I was a child that lived in my nans old people home, she was a child on the titanic, her father died but mother did not.

Edited

I’m obsessed with the titanic - she wasn’t Eva Hart or Millvina Dean was she?

I was very stressed at Waterloo with a huge bankers box of files and couldn’t get the taxi door open. Asked a passing couple to assist. It was only once I (and box) were in taxi that I realised it was Anthea Turner and Grant Thingummy whose name temporarily escapes me…

NannyOggsScones · 11/01/2026 20:33

I went camping with grindcore pioneers Extreme Noise Terror - lovely lads 🤣

Last winter we had new stair carpets, and because we are happening people we decided to go for ones with strongly coloured borders. But wait… that isn’t the most exciting part. The carpet guy told us that it was a good choice because Simon Le Bon had just chosen exactly the same, and ours could only be fitted after Simon and Yasmin had had theirs done.

My mum worked on Blue Peter in the 60s and looked after Lulu the famous elephant .

I sat on David Souls knee when he was on Multi Coloured Swap Shop in the 70s .

I sat next to Eddie redmayne’s granny on an east coast train to London. She seemed quite taken aback when I didn’t know who he was and didn’t believe me when I told her I don’t watch telly!

My tenuous link to a famous person is my best friend is the cousin of the woman who writes Call The Midwife.

Well in that case Spooky, I have a tenuous link with you.😂
My dd's former dance teacher is friends with Heidi Thomas, who is the woman who writes Call the Midwife.

He must have a thing about talk blondes ,a friend of mine who is also a tall blonde claims to have snogged him.

Is she American? This woman looked very American, with her tiny white tshirt that had an American flag on it. She just looked like a victoria secret model. I mean no way he would have got her if he didn't sing 🤣🤣🤣🤣

My ex boyfriend’s e was going out with a young woman who was in a band. She was nice quiet quiet we went out as a group a few times. Her friend came out with us once who was also in the band. She was loud and obnoxious and told us with absolute certainty that the band would be the biggest band ever. We all rolled our eyes

the quiet one was Victoria the loud obnoxious one was Geri

Gok Wan and his film crew filmed me walking along the street. He gave me a ‘you go girl’ look.

Gok Wan and his film crew came into Macculloch and Wallis (big London fabric/haberdashery shop) when I was in there buying a zip. Everyone in the shop studiously ignored them

I was secretary at a folk club the night that Peggy Seeger of the Seeger family (and wife of Ewan McColl and mother of Kirsty McColl) performed.

As a folk club organizer who often puts up our artists at home to save hotel costs, I have washed the underpants of some big names in Irish and Scottish music, including Micho Russell, Andy Irvine and Manus Lunny. And Frankie Gavin said he liked my chicken pie.

Used to repair Robert Carlyle’s wife’s laptop. Repaired Paulo Nutini’s phone once. Hid from Tommy Flanagan from sons of anarchy at work as he was fuming about his broken phone.
