Why would you say the UK won't be invaded? Obviously if there was a war and we didn't fight back we would be invaded and any resistance crushed.

But I don't think the next big war will be fought by mass troops, it will be cyber attacks, biological and chemical weapons and nukes. So our children won't all go off to war they will be slaughtered at home!

This is so weird. I’m a lefty but that’s not my experience. Neither I nor anyone I know has run the country down in the way you describe - except perhaps, more recently, Farage and his mates (and Trump and his mates).

I’m confused about this ‘new identity’ that’s been forced on you. What is it and how does it differ from the one you had before? And how does anyone force an identity on you - your identity is what you feel about yourself, surely?

Well at least after COVID lockdowns we have an army of young lads who would be great at computer warfare/ drone warfare.
I'm not sure how physically equipped they could be though.

If the US invades Greenland then its military capabilities would make it insane to go against. Also, is it in our interests to declare war on our strongest ally (even of currently completely mad) If Russia wanted to invade the UK (v unlikely) ,as someone else said, our military would last a few months against them so defence would be pointless. The only defence is nuclear. If China invades Taiwan then we wouldn't be in a position to do anything unless the US did. Maybe Putin might try to take a bit of Finland or Poland if he wins the war in Ukraine if he thinks he could get away with it? Who knows what the response would be? Will NATO even exist in a year.

What are you on about? Sending old and disabled people to the frontline is counterproductive in terms of military strength. You're sounding a bit botty. And if you're sending literally all adults to the frontline, who is doing everything else?

Russia has a long and storied history of sending wave upon wave of conscripts. One quote I remember (possibly incorrectly) from a German officer in Stalingrad was, “they kept coming and I realised they were telling us that they had more men than we had bullets”. Often these men had guns at their backs and fronts. I assume they still do. We do not want to be Russians. Either in this way, or because they take the UK.

Canada is starting a supplementary reserve force of around 300k of people. Age/fitness/ability are less stringent than the standing army. Teach people to handle guns and large equipment, basic field medicine, and doing things like working drones. I absolutely would sign up for something like that. Support the real service people to do the essential skilled work while unfit 50 yos do what they can. And if the worst happens, help defend my home. I’m a good shot.

Well if Trump invades, I don't mind taking up arms. I'm old (70), I have had a good life and am happy to try to save us from the Orange maniac. Rather be dead than orange, as someone once almost didn't quite say.

Do you know any ukranians, before the war they were considered the human/child trafficking/organ donor etc capital (and hunter bidens fav holiday destination), the corruption is massive there and the goverment itself acts like bullies even with foreign citizens and businesses who bring money in- come into the office arrest all ukranian males,demand ransom from the company and rinse and repeat whenever they feel like it. Life is cheap including foolish british mercenaries lives who have gone there,british media dosent report how many have cried to let out of the 6month contract but have ended up with two choices- go behind the shed to be executed for refusing to go on a suicide mission or go on a suicide mission. In local ukranians news there are regular articles of foreigners inc british being found in reservoirs wirh hands tied up. Do you know how many ukranian men have been left on the fields and not retrieved- no body,no need to pay their wives and kids any money,its estimated the gov has saved already billion in usd by not paying salaries and for the men lost,hence regular protests in kyiv. You have no clue about the way ukranians operate. They are currently building europes biggest ski resort- what a prority during war time.
