He’s talked about peacekeeping a truce in Ukraine. Could you link to one of these hints about war with Russia because I’ve definitely missed them. Unless it’s you reading something in by a massive stretch I have no idea what you mean.

The OP’s question is pointless. What is ‘WW3’? In what precise context might conscription be considered? We imagine we would never do all sorts of things because most of us have never been confronted by war, starvation, genocide, invasion etc… But people do extraordinary things when they are faced with extraordinary situations, including murdering neighbours and friends and participating in horrific forms of torture, abuse and murder.

We live in extremely dangerous times and conflict of one kind or another seems likely. Russia has been at war with the UK for years, murdering people here and interfering with democratic processes. We need to be aware of these threats, especially as NATO looks unlikely to survive.

He’s been sabre rattling for months, as have other European leaders and NATO. After the lies we were told in order to justify the Iraq war, I don’t believe a word of what any of them say.

Hitler would have totally swallowed MN hook line and sinker. He was convinced that the British working classes would never be so stupid as to fight for bunch of entitles toffs and that a few bombs amongst the working classes would topple Churchill (who we now learn actually started the war) and he'd be invited in to run the British Empire.

If he had been alone, you could just paint it as a delusion. But all the Nazi high command believed that. They really thought Britain would fold. After all, we're the same race aren't we ?

There is something wrong with setting up and promoting an idea you don’t think is realistic to stir up anti U.K. and anti government feeling, yes. Ypu coukd have opted to discuss this by saying ‘some people are talking about conscription but I’m not sure why because it’s nonsense. What does anyone else think?’ That would be open discussion.
