He won't go anywhere else fo now because thanks to the bravery of Ukraine, it's leaders but most importantly it's soldiers Russia managed 40meters a day in it's effort to invade. That's why the cowards in Russia particularly the leadership are bombing homes and energy infrastructure.

Its why Trump gets on so well with Putin- two shit back cowards together.

Which country are you in? I don’t think Putin will go any further than what he’s currently doing for now because he is so focused on Ukraine. I have no idea though - I’m just an interested bystander and not any kind of military specialist. What do you think Putin will do?

I don’t understand what you’re trying to say.

The reason why lots of Ukrainians speak Russian as a first language is because Ukraine and Russia used to be part of the same nation (the USSR). Putin is wrongly using that to justify invading Ukraine.

England is not invading Scotland right now and saying it can because lots of Scottish people speak English.

Its not about being brave, its knowing there's no alternative, and there really isn't - only the rich and well connected will be able to flee if widespread war breaks out in Europe, and at some point even they won't be able to.

In terms of Ukraine being ‘Russian land’, it was of course part of the USSR. That is why Putin can say it was ‘Russian land’ and also why many Ukrainians speak Russian as a first language. I, and plenty of others, don’t agree with Putin that this justifies him invading it now though.

Do you mean by this that he wants to expand Russia as much as possible? I agree, but I think he wants to focus on taking former Russian land (e.g. Ukraine, to start with) rather than just occupying as many of Russia’s bordering countries as possible.

FWIW The latest HMG bright idea of pushing post service reserve commitment out to age 60 has met with howls of "you've got kidding me" (well, actually stronger language than that) by many who have served or are serving.

It might work for some enabling roles - MT driver, medic, admin, if working in the rear echelons but by 60 many peoples' eyes/hips/knees aren't really up to running around for hours on doing end doing the sort of stuff the military, especially the army, sometimes needs doing..

So you think that if it all kicks off we should send the oldest people, the ones who are least able to fight effectively?

I doubt anyone thinks this is a good idea and hopefully it won’t be a necessary one.
If it happens they should start at 60 year olds and move backwards, I’m 46 I’d prefer that my children and other young people were spared.

Yes, I did address your point. You said in your post: you're ruling out any possibility of Russia …. invading Poland. I said I’m not sure why Russia would invade Poland. If Russia can’t take Ukraine successfully, why would they invade Poland? It makes no sense. They’d just be setting themselves up to fail.

EDIT: I don’t think Putin will invade the Baltic states either, partly because they’re very prepared for an invasion - which is a disadvantage to Putin - and also because Putin won’t want to spread himself thinly by invading other countries whilst also trying to take Ukraine. If he still hasn’t conquered Ukraine after almost 4 years of fighting, there’s not a chance in hell he can hope to take it whilst also invading Poland and/or the Baltic states.
