I have my settings in X set to not show sensitive videos, that helps to filter out stuff I don't want to see.

This isn’t about protecting women and girls - if it was grooming gangs and stranger rapes and domestic violence would be a government priority.

Through the use of Grok's "Spicy" mode. Where Grok will help you pornofy images, even providing wee prompts to make it better, more extreme, more to the user's taste.

Let’s not forget that Mumsnet allowed CSA imagines to stay up for many hours not all that long ago. They were also defensive in their ‘apologies’ and refused to consider certain changes to their procedures to stop something similar happening again (it happened overnight, and MN don’t pay for night time moderation despite its multi million pound turnover). I know multiple people who left following that incident, as that was their line in the sand. Many are still here, obviously, as they judged it to be more beneficial to them to stay than to leave.
I left Twitter when Elon bought it, that was my line in the sand. Everyone’s line will be different.

I've just pointed out you can't do that elsewhere - apart from Mumsnet. X is useful for finding out what's going on although that does make it quite addictive. I'm going to see what they do about the Grok images. Obviously if they don't remove that function I'll reconsider.

Oh bore off. The last thing we need is more censorship. I am on Twitter/X and I think it's great and it is the only place I see reporting certain news which I'd otherwise have no idea about, which is completely absent from places like drippy Bluesky (milquetoast echo-chamber which censors any view that is not left/liberal). I think censorship is much more dangerous a tool than Grok. I don't want Starmer or anyone else telling me what information I can and can't access. And as another poster has said, this isn't really about Grok, it's about trying to shut-down Twitter/X because it is owned by someone the left doesn't approve of - Musk. There's just as much disgusting and misogynistic, dangerous stuff on places like BlueSky and Reddit but no calls to ban them or to shame people who use them because they are seen as holding the correct and acceptable views.

I feel that by blaming Grok- which is an AI tool- we take the agency, blame and judgement away from the actual people who deserve the vitriol. Perhaps the creators of Grok, perhaps Elon Musk, perhaps the MEN who ask grok to create this shit (see also babies children shown nude/ naked etc) but we should be naming the men at fault IMO. By naming the tool and blaming the tool we aid the men in hiding behind the software

Twitter is simply unusable though. I used to like scrolling and reading the replies to threads but had to stop when the paid blue ticks started. There was so little quality that it rendered the site pointless for me. Posts were simply aggressive or inane. However, frustratingly, it's still the quickest way to contact some companies. Very rare I'll do that but I've not deleted my account in case I do need to ask about train route changes and cancellations etc. I don't open it up to look anymore though.

Grok is a shite AI anyway. People only use it because it has fewer filters than the likes of Chatgpt and Claude.

If you want to code, use Claude. If you want to chat, also use Claude, he's quite sweet tbh. And part of his training uses an actual ethics paper.
