I don't know if my mum rage is out of control but I went to Asda pizza counter and they were closing so I was told as soon as I joined the queue of 2 people that they were shut. They don't display time and the lights were on, so I was a bit annoyed.

I went to look at the premade pizzas, very annoyed but I didn't say anything to the lady. She then asked how many pizzas I wanted, I reminded her she was shut so why does it matter.

Aibu - either shut and be shut, or serve people?

How is that doing me a favour? Why not do the favour in the first place?

If you hadn't been so rude you might have got the pizza you wanted. She was closed but then thought I'll be nice and make a pizza if I can. You know full well why she asked you just wanted an excuse to be a twat.
The only other reason she would have asked is because you've complained before and she didn't want you to complain again.
But she's just a retail worker so she doesn't matter right? She should bow and do exactly what you want.

Are you always hard of critical thinking skills?

Literally EVERYONE else knows why she asked... because she was going to help you.

Are you genuinely stupid enough to think she just wanted to know so she could gossip with her friends later? There is literally only one possibility which is she was going to make your order for you DESPITE being finished.

You need the patience of a saint to work in retail, I couldn't do it. Some members of the public such as the OP seem to think they can treat staff like servants there to wait on them hand and foot.

Jeez, yet another person asking for opinions to then argue that any opinions that don’t align perfectly with their own are invalid. The lady probably realised she had enough time to serve you before closing and just assumed that you’d realise that and appreciate it without her having to spell it out, you were the one who was rude here.

You where EXCEPTIONALLY rude as everyone has pointed out. She was being nice, you clearly love to wallow in your own self pity and bitterness.

How on earth can you spin someone willing to reopen after their paid shift has ended just to do you a favor as THEM being the bad guy. Give your head a wobble.

She said they were shut because they were shut. She then saw you looking at alternatives and probably thought “ah sod it, if she only wants one or two I’ll just do it”

You then gave a dramatic and rude response and she probably thought oh sod you then

To be honest your lack of understanding of your behaviour makes you sound a bit thick. So many people have told you you are wrong and why.

How do you mean 'conditions'? Why would she ask how many you want if she wasn't going to try and quickly make them for you?
She was trying to be helpful? But why should she serve people beyond the time she's permitted or paid to do so? Clearly it didn't make you feel like a satisfied customer. Which is a shame.

Nobody wants to work in retail. I wonder why?

Good grief, what a ridiculous thread. Situations change OP, no idea why you're being so rigid about the whole open/shut aspect. She rightly told you the counter was shut, to allow time to serve the customers ahead of you and close on time. It probably took less time than she'd allowed, she saw you were still in the vicinity so went to try and fit you in.

You need to assess people's actions as well as their words. Her asking you how many you wanted was clearly her re-opening the conversation and letting you know she might be able to fit you in, assuming you didn't want loads of pizzas. You were rude.

Why should she grovel. It’s pizza counter closing time, they’re closed. Why does the worker need to be “really sorry” OP didn’t turn up within the many hours they’re open?
