Is anyone on, or have friends travelling on the 11.15 from Penzance to Edinburgh just now? My son has left his back pack on the train when he got off at Birmingham New Street. A black backpack containing all his stuff! Carriage F5. Can't get any answer on the phone at Lost Property and he has registered on line. Long shot but....please!

My daughter’s phone once went to London from Somerset and back on its own. We had an anxious few hours but all was well.

Is it the crosscountry train? Sorry @Hedjwitch , I can't seem to DM you....

It will be a Crosscountry Train, yes.

HollaHolla · 03/01/2026 22:17

I've managed to DM you with my phone number, OP. I'll have until about 22:35, as will have to go for my last train home. I'm off to see if I can find a real life person for lost property.
Fingers crossed!!

Kitterkitkat · 03/01/2026 22:14

I'm invested in the travelling bag's progress too 😆

It's more adventurous than I am

I'll be at Edinburgh Waverley in about 15 mins. Heading home on a local service. I can go see if lost property is open. Do you want to DM me contact details, in case I need to call you?

Its done Sheffield and now not far from Edinburgh so I can only hope someone secured it at Sheffield as promised. I wish they would let me know...

If the tracker shows it still on the train then seems the workers didn’t find it. Edinburgh station is your best bet.

ilovesooty · 03/01/2026 21:49

Hope he gets it back.

Tulcan · 03/01/2026 21:48

My nephew left his bag on the train a couple of weeks ago and it also ended up in Sheffield because it was the last station. He had to go to Sheffield to collect it.
