does anyone know anyone who works there please? Someone stole an item out my hands today in a different store and it’s the only store with stock of the item which I’ve hunted everywhere for but I can’t get through to store only a central call centre; anyone know how I can before I drive all that way for potentially wasted journey please?

Thanks for the update, glad there's a happy ending to the story!

Yes that Jackie Pumpkin Person was unnecessarily rude.

😊

Understandably, the OP came off the thread because of the trolls. To conclude the story - yes, she got the bag - and other one! Plus other sale items, so it was worth it!

Spill the beans @Hallamlass , we need to see this bag.

I'm hundreds of miles away so unless this bag is spectacular I'm no risk.

Hallamlass · 28/12/2025 14:11

I went upstairs, bought some things in the sale (Kelly Hoppen candles!) and have come back downstairs....
Still 7 on the rack!

Hallamlass · 28/12/2025 13:45

In store now
They have 7 on the rack.
Downstairs, by the Foodhall.

RedRiverShore6 · 28/12/2025 10:48

I think there has been some trolls unfortunately, same poster has been deleted across threads today.

Hope you get your bag OP, if you do, come back with a photo

HolyFocacciaa · 28/12/2025 10:05

As an aside @Babynamehelp8 I hope you manage to get it, I’ll try and have a browse in the Newcastle store next time I’m there

Oh bugger off with your sanctimonious attitude

I have since replied on here so maybe read the whole thing? Or bugger off yourself! I didn’t mean it in a bad way, just that hopefully CS would help more than we could.

RumNotRun · 28/12/2025 09:57

@friskybivalves I remember that thread, it was so sweet and I am not a sentimental person usually.

@Babynamehelp8 I hope you get your bag!

Hallamlass · 28/12/2025 09:42

Nice thing to do, @friskybivalves .
I'll be round the corner from Fargate this afternoon, so it's no problem to go into Marks and have a look for her.

Hallamlass · 28/12/2025 09:40

It's very interesting. Handbag threads - of any kind - tend to be met with disdain by many posters on MN. I think handbags, being such a female thing, have consequently been roundly mocked. There's a lot of internalised misogyny around the whole topic, I find.

It’s a bag, I just can’t imagine wasting time creating a thread and asking strangers to help me find a bag. It’s quite sad. And your martyr act is sadder still.

Not long ago I went off in search of a particular small suitcase, which a MN-er had seen in a tiny tourist shop near Tower Bridge. Her child had fallen in love with it but she’d refused to buy it at the time. She couldn’t remember the name of the shop but did know vaguely where it was. She lived hundreds of miles away from London but was coming through again for work and would have just enough time to divert to the shop IF the little case was still there.

It was easy enough to do in my lunch hour and it was a successful quest! I took some photos - yep, right case - and the shopkeeper agreed to put it aside. Job done.

Don’t know why you have to be so sour. People like to help others out.

mrschocolatte · 28/12/2025 09:19

@Yepyouknowit I don’t think the post you are referring to means what you think.

taIao · 28/12/2025 09:17

Tighteningmybelt · 28/12/2025 06:51

People on here used to love this type of thread and a kind person would have gone and posted it on with much reporting back and updates and photos.

I miss the old days.

I know, and then they’d probably go and be witnesses at each other’s weddings too! Everyone’s vile currently!

lol yes, an unimaginable waste of time...but you don't mind wasting your time on the very same thread @Jackiepumpkinhead
THAT is quite sad 😆

I don't think expecting adults to be civil and not be unnecessarily rude over such an innocuous topic is a martyr act either. The fact that you think so is genuinely sadder still, what a sad reflection on the world. I guess miserable people like to spread their misery.

Jackie, did 3 ghosts visit you?

Blacksheepatchristmas · 28/12/2025 08:42

@Jackiepumpkinhead where's your Christmas spirit?? Or maybe you've had too much of it!! No need to be so unkind.

lol I don’t think slinging insults whatever the reason is the sign of a kind person. Kindness is never wasted.

I didn’t ask people to search for the bag, I asked if anyone who worked there or was in there knew how I could contact the store as their number just connects to a call centre who can’t help. and I certainly didn’t ask you to read the thread or search 😊
