Excessive use of Toilet roll

We having a few issues with having to reflush constantly but since lodger been away this has gone! So we know it’s cause the lodger uses 1/2 toilet roll everytime he goes to the loo.

its ridiculous amount of toilet he goes through compared to us 2 females who have used 1/4 of toilet roll since he been away for Christmas for 5 days.

AIBU to ask lodger to reduce amount of excess toilet roll he uses?

How do you know 'he leaves rubbish all over his floor' - presumably you mean in his bedroom, which as a lodger he pays you to have private use of? Even worse, how on earth do you know his posture when he sits on the toilet?! Another space with an expectation of privacy. Are you spying on him with hidden cameras, or ... ? This is really fucking weird.

I think you should all agree to just buy your own and use your own toilet roll for a start I lived in house sharing situations before and never crossed my mind to use other people's products toilet rolls or bleach I always used my own
If he's leaving marks down the toilet ask him to clean it or put a note up in bathroom and state please clean up after your self if these are the only issues I think eviction is harsh

No, he's not a typical bloke. This is not normal, and he needs to be told to use the brush and leave the toilet immaculate. Everytime. If he can't do this, he needs to find another lodgings, who are happy to put up with his unusual toilet habits.

You've lost me now. I'd happily sacrifice bog roll for a clean toilet. Given the mess every man that ever uses my loo makes, I'd say you're doing well with this bloke.

My DD is autistic and uses so much toilet paper.
It is not a hill I’m going to die on and due to many blocked toilets, I buy cheaper loo roll so it’s thinner.

I think this is one of those that comes with having a lodger.
Is he good in other ways?
If so, I’d let it slide for a while but if there are other issues then it’s perhaps worth a rethink.

you buy a new bog brush every month? why? just get the silicone one that lasts and first go rusty.

id speak to him about the loo roll though.

It sounds like you use an unnaturally small amount. But I can see your frustration.

I guess you can just withold the toilet rolls and keep your own in your room. When it runs out just say nothing, use yours and he will have to buy more?

You'd think it should even out as men often don't use any at all for a wee. I think?

In my experience, men tend to poo more frequently than women. My husband, sons and brothers all go multiple times a day, which I find bizarre as an ‘every other day’ kind of woman. They also use toilet roll for erm, ‘other activities’. Men always use far more than women.

Problem is we have is the toilet will eventually need a plumber as the amount he uses will clog the toilet! So who then pays?
