Inappropriate present, hideous bookends and me in drag!!!!

I love christmas, and I love christmas presents, I got my best friend a lovely calendar showing photos that were precious to me throughout the year of all the good times we have shared, in return, and this is so strange, I got two bookends, which have obviously been handmade, but look like my face, but in a grotesque punch and judy way, I'm not sure whether they are supposed to look so scary, but they are hideous, I actually had nightmares about them last night, and on top of that, a smaller 3D figurine which is basically me looking like a drag queen in hideous blonde hair and a massive red bow, they obviously took a long time and I get that, but I wonder what they are trying to tell me, they have sent me a message asking what I think of them and I really don't know what to say, to be honest, Im quite upset they see me that way. Im just a normal person who loves christmas, I was hoping for tickets to see a christmas carol or something like that.

Put down the crack pipe OP

MaggieBsBoat · 31/12/2025 20:46

@confusedgoldilocks to be honest I really like your latest posts and the music mentions are really up my street. You soundlike a person I’d really like to get to know! I love some philosophy chat and was doing a deep dive myself on stoicism only the other day!

Oh it was never about an audience. It was a journey, and journeys don't really need an audience or even need to be witnessed, I achieved whatever I wanted to achieve in the first two pages, everything after that is just noise, however the raw signal at the start was important to me, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Abraxas loves you all, and hopes you all achieve your heart desires next year.

oh- Within Abraxian philosophy, anti philosophy is as important as philosophy, just as anti ego is to ego, in fact the opposite of anything is as important, which is why the little blonde statue works so well, it encapsulates all terrains, all possibilities, all outcomes, everything-yet also, nothing!

and with that, he was gone!

OP have you actually gone off your rocker?

"the raw signal at the start was important to me"

What does that actually mean?

WLnamechange · 31/12/2025 20:10

Pack it in OP, it's embarrassing.

The eyes on that figurine are all wrong.

Put the things in a bag, smash them with a hammer while inside the bag, put them in an outside bin, take a bath with salt, say a prayer.

And pay them the money.

I lol’d at this, thank you.

Arlanymor · 31/12/2025 20:02

I hope your 2026 resolution is to get a real life hobby. All the best.

PS. It's not a great character trait to seek people's genuine sympathy and toy with their emotions. There are plenty of joke posts on here that people get on board with. But manipulating people for your own LOLs is really very gross.

Well this all took a turn 🤣

Ariel896 · 31/12/2025 19:35

OP, think you’re starting to lose your audience 😬

Arlanymor · 31/12/2025 19:13

Hardcore philosophy?!

For what it's worth I would call Camus an anti-philosopher. He used art to deal with philosophical problems, but that was it. Indeed he himself called himself an artist and rejected the term philospopher.

IMissTheLittleBluePackets · 31/12/2025 19:10

The author of this thread is definitely a man who thinks he's above all of us silly women.

JaquelineHide · 31/12/2025 18:28

Is this the 'deep thinking' daughter from that other thread?

PurpleLovecats · 31/12/2025 17:43

Initially the thread was baffling, then vaguely amusing.
Now it’s just ridiculous. You clearly think you’re really funny and intellectual but you just sound like you are on glue.

A massive dusting of Absurdism? I suppose your right in a way, Abraxian philosophy does indeed marry quite closely with Absurdism, I do happen to be a great fan of Camus, but I don't see where the drugs come into it. I think the 'New Puppy' thread might be more up your street!!, We've moved onto hardcore philosophy now, but there are plenty of other threads for the mundane and pointless! Knock yourself out!

Hardcore philosophy?😑

Have you actually checked in with the donor to ask if this is what they intended op? That would seem a very good place to start ...

confusedgoldilocks · 31/12/2025 10:15

the bookends look just like me, and i have very prominent features, whereas the goldilocks/Abraxas image does not look that much like me, but thats not really the point of this thread, its a journey, a journey from single truth to contradictory truth, from love and hate to coherence and consonance, from misunderstanding to clarity, and none of those frankly have anything to do with the bookends any more, We're moving to Abraxian philosophy with a little bit of Jungian, and a sprinkling of Stoicism, and a sight dusting of Absurdity.

I suppose you could always check out the thread on someone who threw a party and only 3 people turned up if that is more up your street!

You sound like Stephen Hilton

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 31/12/2025 16:35

*you’re.
Maybe Tony Parsons would have got that right?

confusedgoldilocks · 31/12/2025 16:09

Fun Facts

Absurdism is a school of philosophy, Albert Camus is quite a prolific writer of Absurdism, he wrote the stranger, which inspired The Cure to write a song about it, I'd say Luke Rhinehart was probably a fan, he wrote the dice man, and funnily enough Talk Talk wrote a song about that, as far as Abraxas is concerned, Santana dedicated an entire album to it, but based on the concept Herman Hesse wrote about in Demian, Hesse also wrote Steppenwolf, which the band Steppenwolf took as their own name, and well I could go on, but just to keep things simple, yes, Abraxas is a detergent, thats exactly what it is, unless your an intellectual like Tony Parsons!

confusedgoldilocks · 31/12/2025 15:56

yes, Abraxas is a new laundry detergent, you've finally got me bang to rights

Inappropriate present, hideous bookends and me in drag!!!!

FeliciaFancybottom · 31/12/2025 15:19

I suggest you try Abraxas!! it makes things whiter than white! or blacker than black

Is Abraxas a new laundry detergent?

PlumpHobbit · 31/12/2025 14:51

What on earth is going on!

We need to see a full blown photo of the entire "revelationionary image".....

I was responding to your own words regarding Absurdity.

I don't like puppies that much so no thank you. I don't like streets either as they tend to be full of puppies and their poops.

There is no hardcore anything on this thread.

The drugs were mentioned because you seem to be posting about a bad trip. Channel your inner Zammo and say no to drugs.

PGmicstand · 31/12/2025 14:12

This thread is weird! (But I like it)

MyOtherProfile · 31/12/2025 14:00

We've moved onto hardcore philosophy now

We? Hardcore philosophy?

Neither of the above 😂

So i lined up the bookends either side of the goldilocks figurine, and it sort of created a shrine, a hideous constipated half face on one side, goldilocks in the middle and then a matching mirror image constipated half face on the other side. Seeing the three of them looks quite striking to be honest, goldilocks has a sort of serene smile, but the half faces look quite disturbed.

And then it came to me, they are not bookends at all, they are actually designed to be a three statue shrine, they represent something, and then silly me, it came to me, its Abraxas.

The lit self, the shadow self, Abraxas in between, I could really bang my head onto a wall, its so obvious.

Abraxas loves you all!!!!!

So pleased it all worked out well in the end OP! 😂😂
