Hate been a female!!

No idea what you are on about. Being female does not mean you are the only person allowed in a kitchen, you seem to have very odd thought processes

You know exactly what she is on about

DaisyChain505 · 26/12/2025 21:50

You could be expected to do something and not do it.

Don’t be a martyr and start having a backbone.

People sit back in life and let people like you do everything because they can.

mathanxiety · 26/12/2025 21:37

Hate having a useless, entitled lump of a male partner!!

Fixed that for you.

I cooked and decided as I had he would wash up and I have left afew small jobs for him over the weekend!

Okay...

Why didn't you just say to him " I've got one day off, you can sort Christmas dinner this year"

Cherrytree86 · 26/12/2025 19:22

@Mardy45

why are you being such a martyr, OP??

It doesn't enter your partner's head to do it in the same way it never enters your head to not do it.

Juneclaire · 26/12/2025 18:23

If you make yourself into a doormat, don't be surprised when people wipe their feet on you.

More fool you.

Being in possession of a vagina doesn't make you responsible for all domestic tasks.

Make 2026 the year when you stop being so dilly.

rainbowsparkle28 · 26/12/2025 18:20

“Hate been a female!!”
This has nothing to do with being female and has everything to do with your partner being a waste of space man child 🙄 Don’t do it and let them get on with it. But even more so, what do you see in someone like this and why are you with them?! 🤯

DelphiniumBlue · 26/12/2025 18:19

Well, he can expect all he wants, it doesn't mean you have to do it.
Maybe set up a few expectations of your own, like not cooking on Boxing Day if you've already done Xmas dinner, like having 2 clear days off in the week if you are working at the weekend. `By 'days off,' I mean relaxing and doing what you want.

TheCooperettesShingaLing · 26/12/2025 18:17

Nah it's not on just tell him straight Sunday cooking and clear up is on you
So get in the kitchen and rattle those pots and pans.

ibuprofenhead · 26/12/2025 17:47

It’s nothing to do with being a woman; it’s 100% to do with you being a doormat.

Clasaassa · 26/12/2025 17:47

I’ve only voted YABU because don’t do it! Tell him if he wants it, he’ll have to figure out how because you're really exhausted.

Sanasaaa · 26/12/2025 17:45

Tell the male that he is to cook half the week from now on.

He's not a partner if he's incredibly stupid and a burden. Don't accept some man treating you like a domestic appliance.

FieryA · 26/12/2025 17:36

As you knew your work schedule in advance, why didn't you and husband plan the cooking and division of labour before itself? Is your husband a good cook? Could he help in any other way in the kitchen? Why is expecting a meal, could a takeaway not be an option? Clearly there is more to the story here.

outerspacepotato · 26/12/2025 17:20

You can say no. 🙄

Let him get his own dinner.

Cornishclio · 26/12/2025 17:13

Don’t do it. Letting your partner get away with doing zero to help just leaves you resentful and him entitled. I often say to my DH it is his turn to cook and now he does it without asking. You have to put the training in 😂😂

Chasbots · 26/12/2025 15:23

I do cook from scratch all the time but if it was expected, then that would cease.

Are you scared of him? If not, let him expect away.

My DH did help with a roast meal a couple of days ago & was saying how much work it is. I grew up eating meat & 2 veg but we don't now, as it's so faffy.

I'm off work for 2 weeks and my husband worked up until Xmas eve. He's designated Xmas cook and other than a bit of veggie prep and organisation I've done no cooking. I HAVE cleaned the whole house and done loads of kid activities and most o the shopping. I'm not doing everything because he's an adult too.

Aplstrudl · 26/12/2025 15:09

Get some food on the way home, don’t go too late and say work fed you. Let him fend for himself.

columnatedruinsdomino · 26/12/2025 15:07

I think you’ve bought into the male perspective of have uterus, belong in the kitchen. Make 2026 the year the scales fall from your eyes! Good luck op.

mydogisanidiott · 26/12/2025 11:04

Fuck that shit. DH has been cooking none stop since Christmas Eve and now he is making a Boxing Day pie.

nothing to do with being a female.

I make the cosy, presents and house decorated and we both shop for food together. He out the outside lights up.
