People who have never heard of bread sauce?

Sent a photo of my Christmas dinner to a friend. She asked what the white stuff was and whether it was horseradish.

I said 'No, bread sauce.'

She said she had never heard of it. Asked her family and they had never heard of it either.

Wonder it's a regional thing? Her family are from Somerset but also some from Lancashire. My partner is Welsh and never heard of it either. I'm from the Midlands.

I thought it was fairly universal? Dependent on preference ofc.

YABU - I've not heard of bread sauce /it's not a common thing.
YANBU - of course I've heard of it

Love bread sauce. Goes great on Xmas dinner. Midlands-born here, my mum who was the bread sauce devotee was from Stoke.

I am forrin and had never heard of it before I met DP, but it must be popular because I could buy some ready made in aldi

We're Welsh and we know what bread sauce is, but none of us like it. My nana did though - I wonder if it's becoming a bit of a generational thing now.

We have it here in Ireland but it's not very common. Gravy would be more ususal.

You can even get ready-made gluten-free bread sauce in M&S.

DP's made some GF bread sauce for me especially today.

It's lovely, hot or cold.

He's from the arse end of nowhere Devon.

Londoner here, as were my grandparents, and we always had bread sauce with a roast chicken. Personally I don't like it, so don't bother with it!
