To have not lied to DS about trans actor in Last Christmas?

Watching above with DD17 (lesbian) and DS11 (straight) earlier today. One scene where a female presenting (long hair + fake eyelashes) but clearly biologically male actor plays a doctor (just Dr). DS says "that......lady sounds like a man".

I said yeah it is a man love. A man who identifies as a sex they are not.

DD paused then typed a wee bit more furiously than usual for 30 secs but then was ok. She knows tbf. She's lesbian and not pan.

It was so distilled down to me at the point of his very innocent (and tentative so as not to offend question) that I am not prepared to lie to my kid about the fucking fundamentals of life and tell them that person is a woman. Fuck that.

Merry Christmas 🍷

Also FUCK THAT FILM 😭😭😭😭😭

Ah, "look what you made me do".

I see.

You see? I really don't think you do, and neither do I think you care.

What, you think it's appropriate for women to go up to random men and ask them if they've retained or removed their penis? Seriously?

Personally, no because encountering a transwoman in a public loo wouldn’t concern me. I was replying to another poster who said how can you establish which person had had surgery? The only way is to ask if such an encounter really causes you distress or concern. The TW is then at perfect liberty to reply or to tell the questioner to mind their own business, obviously.

As I say, such encounters do not distress me but in response to that direct question, that was the only way I could think of.

Alternatively, go about your business and let them go about theirs 🤷‍♀️

To be honest it's difficult not to appear transphobic (to the trans community, anyway) about the opinions of people who think I'm defined by whether or not the uterus I was born with and never used is still in place or not.

How about you engage with what caused the name calling in the first place? These opinions are outright offensive to many, many women.

And there we have it. Trans women are "scum".

And they say there's no transphobia on MN.

No, but hey, we’re used to the deliberate misrepresentation by TRAs and their “allies” by now!

Self-absorbed men who cannot stand for men not to be prioritised and validated at all times are scum. Males who claim they are just like 'women who have had a hysterectomy' are scum.

If you think that applies to all trans identifying males rather than just misogynistic TRAs then wow - you are a massive transphobe.

Hypocrite much?!

Some of them are, not all, like the rest of the human race. All of them are men though.

excluding trans identified males was just like excluding “women who have had a hysterectomy”
😡
I am so not surprised. These vile males really have no sense of human compassion for women, all they are is narcissistic self-absorbed men who cannot stand for men not to be prioritised and validated at all times. Males are just like 'women who have had a hysterectomy'! They really are scum, and they really don't see women as human at all. And those on this thread in thrall to this misogynistic ideology wonder why we are so angry!! They really, really, still, after all this time, wonder why!

Ummm, I didn't think that was a man. Are you sure she's trans?

The social engineering sitcom that about 3 people watched? “Rebecca” is a misogynistic male who on an interview on Victoria Derbyshire with a female survivor (as I recall) who wanted a female only domestic violence shelter, said she was ignorant because excluding trans identified males was just like excluding “women who have had a hysterectomy”, and I don’t believe goes by they/them? Why aren’t you she/hering?

So you're giving Rebecca Root a hard time?
Great actor. Was in the sitcom Boy meets girl.
They have quite a rich voice actually.
No idea why you are so proud of yourself.

Except the actor isn’t a man. They are a transwoman. And calling them a man is transphobic. I do hope this clarifies things for you.

The actor is a biological man. As only a "trans woman" can be. I do hope that clarifies things for you.

Fun fact - not one of the trans women who have "always existed" was ever stopped from voting because he was a woman.

"And also no trans people have not always existed"

I don't know what "always" means but records show existence of trans people since at least 5,000 BC. So hardly a recent development

People who believe they can talk to the dead have always existed.

People who believe they have a spiritual connection to animals or to the elements have always existed.

People who believe they can perform certain rites and ensure a good harvest have always existed.

People who believe they can see the future have always existed.

People who believe they are "really" the opposite sex have always existed.

In some societies, at some times, every one of these beliefs has been accepted by the wider society as a true fact.

In other societies, at other times, every one of these beliefs has been seen as an individual delusion.

"Trans people have always existed" is no more significant than "astrology has always existed".

Transgender people are not homophobic utter bollocks. They are not a movement either. Justa group of people trying to live their lives. Weither you agree or not. Dont make up shit!

You really have not done any research on this topic, that is more than clear. Trans Ideology is homophobic at it's very nucleus. It denies sex attraction and replaces it with gender 'identity' attraction. It calls lesbians who won't sleep with males with penises 'transphobic'. It shouldn't need to be said that lesbians don't do dick.

A man is an adult human male.
Transwomen are adult human males.
Transwomen are men. Lipstick and frocks dont change that. To call a transwoman a woman is misogynistic

YANBU. He is a man and you were right not to lie to your child. is your son year 6 or year 7? From year 7, he needs to be a bit clued up on trans ideology because it’ll be a topic of conversation in school.

From both of your children’s reactions, I’d be having a chat about trans ideology, how it’s a very separate thing to sexuality, that it’s a homophobic movement, the importance of biology, the harm this is doing to women, children, especially autistic people etc.

Transgender people are not homophobic utter bollocks. They are not a movement either. Justa group of people trying to live their lives. Weither you agree or not. Dont make up shit!
