To feel like I don’t like men anymore

Not as in not attracted to them, although I am less bothered these days
It’s almost like i’m coming to a realisation that most (not all) are not great and women are infinitely stronger people.
Is this an age thing-late 40’s? Sad as I used to really like men. Now all I see around me is amazing women with men who aren’t a patch on them or dangerous and/or perverted men in the news.

Given so much hatred for men, it's probably not surprising when it is returned..

Darlingx · 25/12/2025 09:20

Also so much is outsourced for the liberation of women but it is usually the domestic load to another woman so I feel its still a woman chained to the kitchen sink a lot of the time.

The non mothers who spend their working lives supporting working mothers are also taken for granted I feel.

True I am one of those 😂I always got told I was like family but no one knew my Birthday

It seems men just want to be suckling on the teat of motherhood until the grave. They can’t unsee the mother in the woman be it their mother or her becoming a mother and yet ..

Motherhood is taken for granted. Growing a life in your body and feeding it and now she is changing the wheel on the car too.
When they made the film Robocop it should have been a mother expressing milk whilst multitasking every other ill in society
The human race depends on this role life depends on it.
I dated a record breaking mountaineer scaling heights without oxygen he went on to meet a woman who would join him on these recognised achievements . She died giving birth to their only child.
It goes to show how risky Childbirth is it could be akin to the Summit of something its just taken for granted but there hinges life itself and women give their body to carry life but hey can they change a wheel yes they can learn this skill but are the skyscrapers of wealth going to have a creche on every floor ?
The social construct we are fed ignores the cycle of our Climate , Nature and Bloodlines of creation if u went to the control panel they understand this and its how they control all of us men and women.
They have us disconnected and weaponise our biology hence the battle of the sexes.
I wonder what harmony we could create if we all didn’t carry the weight of judgement on ourselves we can’t opt out from half the human race .

Well, to all of the future lesbians, welcome to the LGBTQIA+ community. You're welcome to pick up your membership packets at the Lesbian Community Project in Manchester, where you can also take your pick of a free toaster or coffee set. 🤗

I'd be genuinely surprised if more than 10% of women could change a car tyre unassisted from start to finish.

Many men can't do it either
You can just call someone to do it.
If it was a must, you best believe women would learn how to do it.

The older l get, the more l see it. I have one male friend who has actually said to me when he'd old he's going to move in with me so l can look after him! Jog on mate!

😂
He must think you'd be so fortunate to have a bloke to look after
Omg
The poor delusional guy

I have been in a toxic relationship for a long time. I read the advice about being a grey rock and that worked. But years of practicing not engaging with him on any kind of emotional level has left me totally disinterested in men in general. When / if i eventually manage to become single and live apart from him, I am hopeful I will never need to be close to another man again. Obviously those are specific circumstances but every woman I know has so many issues with their partners and as for all the disgusting predators coming out of the woodwork, it is enough to put me off completely. I just wouldn’t trust a man again, even if they seem nice.

Not enjoying all this piling on the men. They are half the humans and we need to build societies that work for everyone.
It is worrying to think we ended up with patriarchy all over the world because that’s the only system that works for men.
Women have adapted quickly to independence but men often seem unable to be happy without the traditional set up of being supported by a female who takes care of everything domestic so he can pursue what he wants.
I don’t know why we’re blaming male humans for acting like male humans. Testosterone is powerful!
I consider men from a biological viewpoint. It helps make sense of things. They are more extreme in general. More focussed. More likely to take risks. To effect change. To invent. To build. Why are we talking as if ‘we’ don’t need them?
The BEST people I know are mostly men. The engineers, scientists, inventors, musicians and authors. I just really really don’t want one in my house and my young adult daughters are pretty sure they don’t want one in their lives.
It’s worrying because I want my son to be happy and recognise he will likely want a woman for that to be possible.

It's funny how many people get outraged when some women point out that many men choose to behave very badly and need to step up, because apparently saying that is a terrible insult to men. Then many of those same people turn around and justify male misbehavior as some kind of inevitable biological destiny. To me, that's far more insulting. It treats men like mindless animals with zero self control. I believe men are perfectly capable of being responsible adults who share childcare and household labor fairly, manage their emotions, restrain from violence and so on. Many simply choose not to, because society has long allowed them to get away with it, and they can't be bothered to do better.

I just recently turned 34, single since May (out of a toxic relationship that I tried so hard to make it work), and I am feeling more and more like what you describe with each passing day.

I still find men attractive but I have zero interest in showing interest to them, and I completely ignore them when out and about.

JFDIYOLO · 25/12/2025 02:08

It's all part of the fact that we don't choose our sexuality.

I'm way post meno now - haven't actually done sex in ten years or so now; sadly the post meno has caused me a few problems in the area.

But I will happily look at a man and think he is gorgeous. Wow. And still thoroughly enjoy that visceral reaction.

Sadly though I'm intellectually generally disappointed and disillusioned with men as a whole.

The whole manosphere madness.

The godawful litany of abusive men drugging, assaulting, renting out, sharing images of their poor wives - another one in the news this week.

The fact so many see women as not quite human, not quite people, not having the right to boundaries. And how young that starts.

The way women have evolved and grown with increasing rights and opportunities - while so many men seem stagnating in 'looking for a mummy / maid / domestic appliance' mode.

I think if I were a young woman starting again, but knowing what I know now, I might well take a different path and be living in a friendly artistic female community with pets and nice meals and lots of books etc etc.

Plus the mad dating stories on SM are amazingly entertaining.

No wonder gender disappointment always applies to women pregnant with sons!

SouthernNights59 · 24/12/2025 23:54

I've been single for over 20 years and have no wish to ever have a relationship again - however I don't share your views on men at all. I've nothing against men, I just like my own company.

FlockOfSausages · 24/12/2025 23:39

Bitter, man-hating lesbians. They used to be confined to the feminist forum but spread over here now.

Then fuck off back to your Reddit incel forum. Nasty little man 😆

Yes, FIL is very boastful that I am a SAHM. He says how much better I am than his divorced daughter, who puts her child in nursery to work. I wish I’d done life differently and been like her.

I wish I was like his daughter who had a career, her own money and was able to say, “fuck this” when her husband turned into an arsehole when she fell pregnant, and walked out the door to start again.

He should be proud of HER. Not me, sat here looking like a bag lady with nothing.

He’s only proud that I’ve had to rely on his son and that I have to nod and smile to keep the peace with everyone because I can’t just tell them to sod off like SIL does.

This post saddens me greatly.
There is hope to regain your sense of self. Probably seems impossible right now but several other women have escaped similar trappings.
Take care OP

When my DP cooks he cleans up after himself. When I cook, he cleans up after me.

I’ve noticed my friends’ husbands are mostly the same.

I honestly don’t know where this hatred is coming from?

Are you under 45 jade? I do find this aspect worse in guys over 50 if I’m honest -

I find (in general) men's company easier than women's, more straightforward. I'm talking about company - not relationships. I think living with men is pretty shit, and their total blindness towards just the most basic living standards from many (certainly not all) and the lazy callous approach of leaving the donkey work to the woman is common.

One thing I often see mentioned on here and personally experience in my life is the 'big cooking session' where a meal is made by the man. Might be a great meal, but the woman is left with a god-awful mess to clean up. I am SO fucking sick of this. Its not a nice gesture, its pure control. Control of what's being eaten and the belief that as the cook, all cleaning up and all the other housework can then be opted out of. In my house this happens as soon as I tidy the kitchen. Every fucking time. I dont want to eat the food as it pisses me off to the point it chokes me. Took me a long time to realise this is not kindness.

And breathe....

When my DP cooks he cleans up after himself. When I cook, he cleans up after me.

I’ve noticed my friends’ husbands are mostly the same.

I honestly don’t know where this hatred is coming from?

Is this peri, age or just maturity and seeing the truth? It’s pretty depressing

I feel the same way. I think for me it is a mixture of age (45), peri and experience. I am more aware of it now so I see it with wide open eyes - before I wasn't so conscious of it. My awareness comes from my and my friends and family's experiences.
