Is there something wrong with me or is there anyone else who can't cope with Strictly

I can't cope with it.
I've watched this series.
I watch it every year with DC.
Just watched the final.
It's soooooo noisy. So incredibly loud. The non stop screaming when they get their scores. The jumping up and punching the air. The shouting. The schrieking. The cheering. The super loud music. The staged acting. The horrendous booming music when the judges do that thing where they dress up in silly props. Claudia's relentless shouting.
OMG.
I can't stand this format and I'm sure it didn't used to be like this years ago.
I'm sure I used to feel relaxed whilst watching.
Now when I watch it I feel stressed and spend the whole time turning the sound down.
Am I alone in this?
I'm point blank not watching it next year. 11 year old DD forces me to every year but I can't do it anymore. It's torture.

You are not wrong. I have been a strictly fan for many years. But I can’t bear it now. It is all so over the top and silly. So much of the antics are infantile and it feels like I’m watching a children’s TV show. No thanks. I am done.

It’s awful.
Even more so when they talk about it on the news. Literally no one cares!

Not true. It has a massive following!

Nourishinghandcream · 20/12/2025 22:07

Have never liked it ☹️

My M&D used to watch it so if I was visiting I would sit quietly but no, have never watched it at any other time.

Horrorscope · 20/12/2025 22:07

I’ve tried to like it - but not succeeded yet…

greentest · 20/12/2025 22:07

It's not for me, I find it dull and repetitive but it's clear many people love it, so why not let them have it? Luckily these days there is lots of choice of channels, streaming if you want to watch something.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 20/12/2025 22:06

I agree. I think it’s got worse and worse in this aspect. I get so bored with the repetitive questions too: ‘how do you feel now you’ve got through to next week?’ ‘What do you want to say to your partner?’ ‘What would it mean to you to win?’ Over and over and over again.

Julen7 · 20/12/2025 22:05

Oh God me. Wanted to see who won (sort of) but all the screaming and cheering and repetition where the couples tell us a million times about their journey and how much they want to win was too much. Made even worse because Tess and Claudia are leaving and for a month at least we haven’t been allowed to forget it, it has just become so mawkish.

I was willing it to end tonight.

InLoveWithAI · 20/12/2025 22:05

I tried to watch it years ago. I feel exactly the same.

Mumofyellows · 20/12/2025 22:03

I love it. Each to their own!

Me neither. Not watched it for years, but I did try....
First problem was the dreadful studio audience clapping out of time 😬
Second big problem is the sentimentality, which they ladle on with a giant spoon.
Not to mention the "celebrities" I've never heard of!
I'd quite like to see people learn a new skill, but all the nonsense just puts me off and makes it unwatchable.
