Is there something wrong with me or is there anyone else who can't cope with Strictly

I can't cope with it.
I've watched this series.
I watch it every year with DC.
Just watched the final.
It's soooooo noisy. So incredibly loud. The non stop screaming when they get their scores. The jumping up and punching the air. The shouting. The schrieking. The cheering. The super loud music. The staged acting. The horrendous booming music when the judges do that thing where they dress up in silly props. Claudia's relentless shouting.
OMG.
I can't stand this format and I'm sure it didn't used to be like this years ago.
I'm sure I used to feel relaxed whilst watching.
Now when I watch it I feel stressed and spend the whole time turning the sound down.
Am I alone in this?
I'm point blank not watching it next year. 11 year old DD forces me to every year but I can't do it anymore. It's torture.

I don't watch it any more. I can't stand Tess and Claudia and their silly antics and all the overacting. It used to be so good too.

You are welcome not to like it, however, it has a huge following - so clearly your comment "literally no one cares" is totally inaccurate. It averages over 8 million viewers per episode.

It's the Dead Nans that get to me.

It's so formulaic. It's cringeworthy.

I might not watch it next year if I don't like the new presenters.

But I find a reason not to watch it every year......... then I watch it anyway.

I don’t watch it. But it is one of the biggest shows on tv, by ratings. So it’s not accurate at all to say that no one cares.

I’d agree it’s not newsworthy though. But really, I don’t watch it, and have hardly seen anything about it. It’s not hard to avoid if you don’t like it or can’t cope with it.

me too- and I’m a dance teacher. I find it overwhelming and loud, and the last thing I need on a saturday evening after teaching dance classes all day. I haven’t watched it for about 8 years.

I think it’s very cringey and old fashioned. The edgiest thing in it is Claudia’s hair. The other hostess just looks soooo old fashioned, hair, her dresses, the lot. I have tried to watch it a number of times. I do not get the obsession.

I hadn't watched it for about 12 years until this series, which I picked up about half way though. I totally agree with all the things you find objectionable about it, so the way I 'watch' is by putting it on close to the end of the live broadcast and rewinding iplayer back to the start, then forwarding through all the rehearsal, chat, judges' feedback etc elements. I pretty much just watch the dances. It's a 15 minute show for me!

I can’t stand how emotional the couples get. They act like they have been married for fifty years the way they go on about how close they are and how important they are to each other. IMO it’s time it was put out to pasture.

I've never seen it, but I think I know the type of presentation you're talking about. Is there a long pause as the picture switches from contestant to contestant before each score is read out, in order to create fake drama?

The show is long, long past its use by date. Why do we have to have the same crap year on year? Strictly, Bake off, IACGMOOH. Just stale and boring.

I totally agree!! Every couple of years I think I will give it another go as surely all these people who love it can’t be wrong?? I watch it and cope it for about seven minutes until I remember how awful and boring it is… this has been on a loop for about ten years …

It's not for me, I find it dull and repetitive but it's clear many people love it, so why not let them have it? Luckily these days there is lots of choice of channels, streaming if you want to watch something.
