Just for fun.

What are some things that you have done in the past or do now that you know most MN’s would find you unreasonable for?

I’ll go first:

  • I’m so unbothered if you choose to have a child free wedding and my children aren’t invited. Even close family weddings. It’s your day I’m not going to kick up a fuss that you haven’t invited to my children. You’ve probably given me at least 6 months to a year notice, I’ll just arrange childcare. If I can’t - then I can’t come and you can’t be mad at me!
  • Chose to have 2 elective c sections for no medical need.
  • Given my children chocolate occasionally before the age of 2.
  • Son slept in a cot until almost 3!

Use my tumble dryer on a sunny day.

Paisleybuddy · 16/12/2025 12:26

I have loo brushes
Toothbrushes are in the en suite
Have no interest in tracking my family members
Was a STAHM mother
I open my door even when not expecting anyone
I swear with fuck being my go to word…covers a multitude of occasions
I drink wine at the weekend
Only believe in abortion in exceptional circumstances
Wash towels and bedding weekly
Don’t think all men are dickheads
My cat goes outside
My kids had their own bedrooms as soon as they outgrew the Moses basket
God knows why I joined given all that 😂

secretllama · 16/12/2025 12:25

Had a hen do abroad with 23 of us going 🎉

Giddykiddy · 16/12/2025 12:24

My (small) dog often sleeps in the bed with us.

I swear and drink.

I'm kind to MIL even though she's often very blunt/rude

Coffeeishot · 16/12/2025 12:23

I have a toilet brush i don't understand how people clean their toilets without one,

You can wear your shoes in my house that probably has a whiff of dog 😀

BeanQuisine · 16/12/2025 12:23

I'm happily judgemental.
I don't think inane assertions like "their house, their rules" win the debate.
I rarely think the first post nailed it.
I never use the word "grim" or the phrase "end of".
I would never ask anyone to remove their shoes, shirt or knickers before entering my house.
I don't call the police if someone leaves poo stains in my toilet.

BarnacleBeasley · 16/12/2025 12:23

I don't spend equal amounts on my DCs' Christmas presents.

Also I have separate finances from my partner, even though we are married.

I thought of one last night while watching 'The Holiday.'

I answer my front door. Even if someone knocked it in the middle of the night and I was alone, I would answer it.

And because of this, I would get to shag Jude Law.

If Jude Law knocked on my door I'd break the sprinting speed record to answer it.

Watermelonsugar345 · 16/12/2025 12:02

Oh yes to this one, I actually do not mind receiving toiletries or candles!

Edited

Me too! I think people giving gifts is kind, not some kind of weird offence against planet earth.

Thundertoast · 16/12/2025 12:22

Oh my god its definitely dog stuff.

Will let her sleep in the bed. And I mean, under the covers. She keeps my feet warm.
Will let her lick a chopping board if there's been something tasty on it.
Talk about her like she's my child - because its funny, to me and my family (dont expect anyone else to treat her like she is though!)
We are in a cul de sac with a park at the end and I let her run down the street with no lead on to run to the park, thats probably the one that some people would find to be the biggest sin! Despite there being no scared children, old unsteady people, cars, other dogs about etc...

I also really, really couldnt care if someone didnt change the sheets before I slept on them at someone's house, and I still dont understand why its an issue if I'm totally honest, unless the sheets were visibly dirty/smelt??

Olinguita · 16/12/2025 12:22

I have one child and I had him quite old (38)
DH does most of the cooking
I can't drive (and I also don't want a lift from you, so put your pitchforks and flaming torches down)
I have a large and varied circle of friends
I travel on business a few times a year
I live a part of London that is widely thought on mumsnet to be an absolute shit hole and totally unsuitable for raising children in
My son took a long time to crack potty training (well after his 3rd birthday)
Basically I feel like I'm a social parish on this site but for some reason I keep coming back

RanyaJerodung · 16/12/2025 12:21

I don't think dogs should be treated as humans.
They're not.
I don't care about tattoos. Not my skin.
I don't care if people want "tat" at Christmas, it's a season of joy, not an event curated by John Lewis.

Burningbud1981 · 16/12/2025 12:21

Drink too much wine.
Invited people to the evening part of my wedding.
Lock my front door.
Allow unannounced guests.
Don’t have a hobby

ModernLife1sRubbish · 16/12/2025 12:20

I've had sex with married men for fun and feel no guilt or shame.

myglowupera · 16/12/2025 12:18

I carried on with a pregnancy instead of having an abortion.

BarnacleBeasley · 16/12/2025 12:18

I like all my neighbours, and happily take parcels for them, let them have showers in my house if they're getting work done on their bathroom, move my car if they need the space, etc.

I am intermittently teaching my child to read before he starts school.

TinselTina · 16/12/2025 12:16

Have 1 child

Have re married. Im a Heathen

TofuEater · 16/12/2025 12:16

MrsAvocet · 16/12/2025 12:16

I'm a cyclist.

Barney16 · 16/12/2025 12:16

It's the chicken. A chicken lasts one meal and there are only two of us.

Cosyblankets · 16/12/2025 12:15

I had a child free overseas wedding
I don't ask anyone to remove shoes
I have an en suite and i like it
I answer the door
We don't share finances
I let my dog off the lead (because he's well behaved)
I take my dog to the pub or the cafe

Owly11 · 16/12/2025 12:15

Oh I don't wash my bedsheets, towels or clothes very often, I drink alcohol most days, I don't believe a child's 'needs' (aka wishes) trump everyone elses and I never, and I mean NEVER eat a massive salad.

princesspadam · 16/12/2025 12:14

I drink in front of my children - if anyone needs A&E we’ll get a taxi
i love holidays without my children - in fact if they’re coming it’s not a holiday
i I have a toilet brush
i I don’t monitor anyone’s phone use or screen time
i I don’t AirTag or stalk my children

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 16/12/2025 12:13

I’m covered in tattoos and in love with a trans man.

Eyesopenwideawake · 16/12/2025 12:13

I shower 2/3 times a week. Ha!
