Just for fun.

What are some things that you have done in the past or do now that you know most MN’s would find you unreasonable for?

I’ll go first:

  • I’m so unbothered if you choose to have a child free wedding and my children aren’t invited. Even close family weddings. It’s your day I’m not going to kick up a fuss that you haven’t invited to my children. You’ve probably given me at least 6 months to a year notice, I’ll just arrange childcare. If I can’t - then I can’t come and you can’t be mad at me!
  • Chose to have 2 elective c sections for no medical need.
  • Given my children chocolate occasionally before the age of 2.
  • Son slept in a cot until almost 3!

😂

I just had a peek at some of your other posts (just in case), and I can safely say that I'm not!

My mum is in her 80's and still smokes a little weed everyday!

MistressoftheDarkSide · 16/12/2025 15:02

Might have been covered but:

I believe there are more things in heaven and earth and love a good paranormal thread.

I would rather chew my own arms off than "embrace" AI.

I'm a lifestyle vintage Goth and don't care if people think I'm attention seeking, it makes laundry so much easier 😘

BunnyLake · 16/12/2025 15:02

All my coloured washes go into together, be they tea towels or my knickers, I haven’t died yet.

I put the dog bowl in the dishwasher, not died after 13 years of it.

I can spend an entire day lying on the sofa thinking about doing things but not actually doing them.

I answer my door.

I was very mumsy and did all my kids cooking and washing until late teens and still managed to have two independent and self sufficient young adults.

In our case dh hand scrubs the toilet.

Nobody who lives in our house uses disposable sanitary items.

Loo roll tube comes straight down for recycling. 😅

Same here. Husband cleans the toilet with loo roll and a bleached cloth because I'm germ phobic and I will not have a loo brush in the house.

Sanitary items go in the fire or in a dog poo bag straight into the outside bin because we have cats that steal from bins in the house.

Getting a smear test without making a big deal about it

Batshitkerazy · 16/12/2025 15:00

Put pet bowls in the dishwasher!

everdine · 16/12/2025 15:00

I breastfed and co sleeping with my children until they were 3, I have never taken their temperature (don’t have a thermometer.)

I'm also another one who loved having visitors when I had a newborn. You want to come to my house, hold my baby so I can go to the toilet, drink a coffee and have my arms free. YES PLEASE.

I was also delighted for my MIL and parents to come round and just and sit and hold the baby and to see them bond. I didn't demand that they (or anyone) do my housework or cook a meal for me.

I also don't do "shaking and crying" or at "my wits end" over the smallest inconvenience.

I'd never use the phrase "get your ducks in a row" in real life (or on here for this matter).

Edited

Isn’t it usually ‘sobbing and shaking’ - and usually ‘literally’?

proname · 16/12/2025 14:56

I decided to stay with my cheating DP

BlackCat14 · 16/12/2025 14:55

I don’t want to propose to my boyfriend. I want him to propose to me!

Dontlletmedownbruce · 16/12/2025 14:55

I get along with my inlaws. They have many flaws but I make sure to keep my mouth shut where appropriate and I let things slide, because it's important that I get on with them. They are a part of my family and if Dh became lazy about contact i would step in because they are my kids family too.

I host Christmas dinner because I feel obliged but I don't enjoy it and never will.

I have an open door policy regarding DC friends and neighbours. When they are here I see it as they are using our house, I don't supervise them or interfere with their play. I likewise don't mind kids hanging out at neighbours houses.

mrlistersgelfbride · 16/12/2025 14:55

I don’t WFH and can’t do school pick ups. I drink too much and am an occasional smoker.
I get on with men better than women.
DD has too much screen time.

ClassicBBQ · 16/12/2025 14:54

DH brings in the money, I do all the housework and majority of child/pet care.

Catwalking · 16/12/2025 14:53

My middle name is actually Karen… (sort of proves my mother hated me!?)

The cats are at perfect liberty to walk on tables & kitchen surfaces.

Sort of opposite to OP’s post?: cats never use neighbours garden as toilet, (only have 1 neighbour who has 100’s of dogs, so no surprise there 😆😺)

Starlight1984 · 16/12/2025 14:53

JHound · 16/12/2025 14:39

I don’t get it and for the same reasons as you.

I wish someone would answer it for us 😆
