To think that antisemitism now needs to be tackled in the strongest possible way?

The Bondi thread in chat was eye opening.

Forty pages and a lot of it whataboutery, excuses and vile antisemitism.

It’s disgusting.

It needs to be called out. It needs to be rooted out.

I feel so sorry for the Jewish communities everywhere. How can they possibly feel safe?

It is absolutely rife in academia and any left leaning institutions. It needs sorting. None of these shitty excuses that’s rolled out by the Palestinian flag waving mob. - never seen them marching about other wars where babies are dying. They’re either antisemitic or so stupid they don’t realise they’re useful idiots to evil theocracies.

Yes I heard one of the hostage speak Emily Damari and she said she asked those who held her about gay people (she is lesbian but managed to keep her own identity secret) this was in the context of the TV being on and Footage of LGBT for Palestines March etc. and yes she was told they’d murder anyone gay even if was their own son or brother.

MeridaBrave · 20/12/2025 22:01

Yes. I’m Jewish and often keep it hidden in real life. Worried who might be anti Semitic. I worry for my kids (aged 15, 19 and 22). Oldest 2 at uni - course mates don’t know they are Jewish (sharing houses with people they met at j-soc). 15 YO at a Jewish school. Worried about him in identifiable uniform. Dh wears a kipa locally but wouldn’t now at work or in central London. Sigh.

This is an echo chamber.
Listen to yourselves!

It’s not a ‘miracle’ that Israel has (only!) bombed to death 3% of the population of Gaza.

I’m out, can’t listen to this any more.
It’s not anti-semitic to be appalled at the deaths of innocent children, whatever their ethnicity.
You can think what you like.

I know I shouldn't take any notice but
It’s not anti-semitic to be appalled at the deaths of innocent children, whatever their ethnicity.
What do you mean, "whatever their ethnicity"?! WTF, how fucking dare you. I bet you're one of those people who bang on about Gazans being "brown" and poor, and Israelis somehow white and rich.

What's antisemitic is absolutely refusing to see the part that Hamas has played in the number of civilian casualties in a war that Israel did not start. Shit, you can't even call it a war. It was the most abominable terrorist attack this century and the so-called "war" was fought against an invisible enemy that buried itself underground beneath strategically placed operation centres that maximised destruction of its own people. How fucking dare you.

Yes, 5 actually. I'm not Jewish either but fuck this shit.

Hear hear. No thoughts about revengeful terrorist attacks against their adversaries. Composed, dignified and united, albeit in their relatively small numbers. Every time I hear Schindler's List theme played, I am reminded of the universal unrecognised plight of a relentless persecuted race x

They are everything that is good about humanity.

I am in awe of the Jewish posters’ resilience (and the Jewish people overall).

Faced with so much hatred and yet they conduct themselves with so much dignity and grace.

If Israel had said that they would pack up and leave, they’d still be criticised for not doing it quickly enough.

I love this thread. Thank you for starting it @LucyWestenra and I'm proud to say I stand with Israel against Hamas and will always stick up for Jews.

I posted my reply before I saw yours and I’m pleased we said similar.

Lucy, you've been proven right to post this thread. We are honoured to stand up for Jews and every single denial, we will bat back xx

I'm afraid I'm coming to the conclusion that the only reason people don't see this threat the way they would elsewhere is the obvious one.

I don't think there's any response to October 7, other than lie down and die, that some people would find acceptable.

Nobody who supports Hamas, explicitly or tacitly, gives a shit about Gazans.

Of course they don't.

Agree with all your posts OP. Useful idiots indeed. The left are being played like a fiddle. The women and LBQT types passionately supporting Hamas make me 🙄🙄

It may be a Western-style democracy, but it is surrounded by oil-rich and powerful Middle Eastern countries that want Israel off the map and Jews eradicated, and have never made any secret of these ambitions.

Being "shocked at Israel's behaviour" is not really fair considering Western countries don't face this kind of existential threat.

Any Western country’s behaviour would be viewed similarly
Imagine if hordes of French, with the full backing of other European countries, had swarmed into a UK festival and surrouding villages to torture, rape, mutilate, burn alive, scalp, and take hostages. What would a sensible response be?

I'm afraid I'm coming to the conclusion that the only reason people don't see this threat the way they would elsewhere is the obvious one.

Yes, so off you go back to CITME.
