I don't agree about JA. Have you seen her face in Morning Wars? She could barely move her mouth - it looked like it was frozen. I actually found it really distracting.

I aged about 10 years when my daughter when through a rebellious stage between 15-18. I barely slept and comfort ate. Kylies never had that anguish. Although she may have wished for children we will never know. She may have swapped places with many of us. I still love her as I’ve grew up through all stages of my life with he ( she’s a tiny bit older than me) I wish I had a tiny bit of her money too! It would help.

Had good tickets - seen Kylie, up close, in Glasgow - start of the "Showgirl Tour". This was at the time of her breast cancer being discovered.

A bit shorter? Isn't she 4ft 11? I met her back in the 90s in the VIP section at Cream. At 5ft 4 and 7 stone I felt like a giant beside her. She was absolutely tiny, about the size of a 7 year old child.

Oh that is surprising that she has not released an autobiography. I agree that it would be an interesting read. She has had a long, successful career, after all. She does come across as very likeable, she reminds me in a way of Judy Garland. Nice.

I'm not a fan of Kylie's music, but I think there's far more to her than any of us can see or judge.

She's clearly a very clever and accomplished person, with a very rich life she finds satisfying. She only ever gives us tiny glimpses of who she really is. She manages to navigate fame with ease, she never gives very much away. We see the odd wild move, or exciting affair, or battle with cancer - which she owns - but she gives us no explanations, no exposes, no drama. How does she do that in a culture that demands everything must scrutinised and laid bare? Yet we love her, she respect us, and she gets it back. The odd person trys to tell us she's 'horrid', but nothing sticks. Something Madonna, Bey, Mariah and Myliee would be jealous of, I recon.

Australia has a very Body Beautiful culture... it's how I imagine California (used to live in Oz, never been to Cali). This helps a lot, I think - plenty of exercise and a super healthy diet. It's partly because you are more often likely to have to appear in public wearing a bikini! We can rely on hoodies to hide things here!

Back in the early 90s my daughters had been to see Ghost and were drooling over Patrick Swayze, I had seen something about him in one of their magazines so was able to point out that he was four years younger than me so I had a better chance than a couple of young teens!

This. See also Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga. If you listen to them doing very early perfomances, they were a bit pitchy, and their voice(s) weren't very strong. I saw a recording of Taylor performing the song 'Fifteen' at the BBC when she was about 19, and she was average at best. Still good, and talented, and you could see a big star in the making, but she wasn't very good.

Same story for Ri and Gaga.

I think all 3 are amazing now. Taylor has a lovely, strong voice, and Ri and Gaga sound much more powerful.

Kylie is a bit like this. She was average when she first started, and sang a bit off key live, but she got good fairly quickly and her live singing is very good now.

There are some singers who have been amazing since they were 10! Like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Hayley Williams, and so on, but for some others their singing talent had to be nurtured and honed.

For some the good live singing never came. Madonna is not brilliant live, and Katy Perry is terrible. Kim Wilde I have always liked, and I love most of her songs, but her live singing is quite poor. In fact when Kim is performing live she actually has her niece singing with her most of the time. as a 'backing' singer.

Madonna actually admitted herself once that her singing is not brilliant, but she said she enjoys performing on stage, and dancing, and she enjoyed writing songs, and let's face it, she is a great performer, and always has been, and she has made some brilliant pop songs!

One of the best singers - on 'record' and live IMO is Carol Decker from T'Pau. Brilliant voice!

Yes I just googled her to see- she does look spectacular, she’s nearly 20 years older than me and I definitely look a lot more tired! It’s also really hard to keep weight off if you’re a shorty as you get older so wild kudos.

However I have to agree she doesn’t look 30. She looks very well maintained but I guessed 45-50 before I checked (something I’d be delighted with at 57!)

She definitely doesn’t look 30, maybe very late 40’s/early 50’s but she looks great and has a lovely figure which she must work hard to maintain. She also seems really nice and like she would be good fun.
