OK far enough the parents wants some free time, do I csn see why a bit of that can be good for all,
but if your only working two days why would you want to be apart from a little baby that long? Just because its free

I mean toddlers I can understand more wanting to get away from the unreasonable ways of toddlers, but I just find this so sad and worrying for the future

I can see this inthe future.....baby's collected by the government after birth, geld in huge warehouses, they call nursery, next door is another warehouse where all the sick and disabled go then next-door to thst another warehouse for the elderly

Just seems so sad

I mean that's kind of how it used to be, you actually as if workhouses and institutions didn't exist historically. 9 months is young for that but compared to USA where women go back to work 4 weeks after birth we're pretty good here.

Don't you think it's sad though?

What a strange post

Most people need a bit more childcare time than their working hours because nurseries offer long days to allow for commuting time.

And you need to pay for those extra hours even if you don't use them.

So even if someone is only working 16 hours across two days, they'd still likely need at least 20 hours of childcare.

Parents aren't ditching their kids on nursery to be careless and heartless. Actually neglectful parents mostly don't use childcare at all.

People are just doing their best to look after their kids and keep a roof over their heads

16hrs is 2 days work.
22 hours (the stretched entitlement equivalent to 30 hrs term time) is also roughly 2 days.

So actually matches perfectly

I've never known anyone that does this tbh

Hyperbole level 10/10, sense level 0/10.
