Sprive payments towards mortgage?

Has anyone heard of Sprive? I’ve got a friend who swears by it.

Is it a waste of time or does it actually accumulate over time?

I use it all the time in supermarkets. As it is money I have to spend anyway, I find it doesn’t encourage me to overspend if that makes sense. The app says I have saved 2 months of mortgage payments so far.

It’s just like any other cashback website expect you can only use the cashback as an overpayment on your mortgage. I do find it handy as I seem to rack up about £20 cashback per month so it’s an easy way to make a small overpayment each month.

I used to make regular overpayment but with years of nursery fees, and everything else going up so much I no longer have the spare cash to do so!

If an app wants access to your bank account then they are getting more out of you than you are getting out of them. Usually by selling your data. So it wouldn't be for me.
