Is husband being a prick?!

my Husband has an issue with me cooking “greasy” foods in the house and it’s getting to the point where I want to leave. I know that sounds dramatic but I was cooking chicken Parmesan tonight for dinner and he literally went ballistic when he got home, it’s my favourite food and haven’t had it in years and the minute he saw me shallow frying the chicken he went nuts ranting how the whole house smells like grease and how he won’t feel clean for days! Im so fed up. It’s okay for him to bring home stinking fish and chips and has no problem with garlic or onions or whatever else! Please give me some perspective here

Damn.

Yes, he's being an asshole. Does he have sensory issues?

Either get an air purifier, it really helps with cooking smells or get rid of the husband.

No he’s not being a prick. Cooking greasy foods makes me feel sick. The smell lingers for days

Oh god, please ladies, leave these men!

I promise, being a single mum isnt bad enough to warrant putting up with such nonsense!!

Sounds like he would fit in well on Mumsnet tbh. But yes also a prick.

Yeah

This is tricky. I hate greasy foods being cooked too. I have weird sensory issues with food. Does he?

vodkaredbullgirl · 26/11/2025 17:41
