Shitty note from new Neighbours after moving in

Laylamum2 · 25/11/2025 18:19

We moved house on Friday - have had a hectic few days trying to sort things and have this week off work thankfully.

There is one bathroom in the house and this is upstairs at the front of the house which faces our driveway. Next to the driveway is a neighbours house directly opposite.

The seller has taken all blinds out of the property as is their right and we’ve spent today putting some new ones up, including in the bathroom.

Yesterday, a note got put through our door:

”Get blinds for your bathroom, we don’t want to see you having a shit”

The window is frosted but I assume at night with the light on you can see in.

This was obviously from our neighbours opposite. AIBU to say they went about this in a rude way? They could have sent a politer note or knocked on the door.

Get new blinds - personalised with a photo of you sat on the loo on them

spirit20 · 25/11/2025 19:29

Maybe it was a random passer-by instead of your neighbour?

Nearly50omg · 25/11/2025 19:29

I’d be temped to stick a note back through their door with one word on it …”pervert”

Nearly50omg · 25/11/2025 19:27

Doggielovecharlotte · 25/11/2025 18:26

surely no one can see you once your on the loo as your below window height

also frosted wouldn’t allow people to see what you are doing lights on or not - just a blur of colour

I can tell you that frosted glass in a bathroom at night does NOTHING to stop you seeing the horrendous sight of the naked neighbour getting out of the shower and wiping his arse etc! 🤢🤮😂

Say nothing, but get a window sticker of a shitting Santa for the bathroom window.

Glad I’m not the only one who immediately though sticking a picture of a giant turd in the window was the way to go 🫣😂🤷‍♀️

deepseaargyllfish · 25/11/2025 19:26

How awful. Sorry this has been one of your earliest impressions of your new neighbours. Obviously you’ll be putting blinds up when you get a chance, but if the window is frosted it hardly matters. Ignore. I’d do this room last, after this, just so they feel ignored.

Ariel896 · 25/11/2025 19:26

Do you have a cat who could park a turd when then are looking out the window?

Change your WiFi access point name to "WATCH-ME-SHIT"

Edited

Love this, best response so far.

Ahfiddlesticks · 25/11/2025 19:25

To be honest, I'd be glad someone had told me.

I'm sorry but that is just vile, I mean who on earth would send a note like that!!!

Well, I did suggest a kid, but people here seem convinced it was the adults of the house who must have sent it 🤷🏻.

I'd apply Okham's Razor to this mystery.

MyChristmasCheerHasBuggeredOff · 25/11/2025 19:22

Why would they be looking in
They are weird
Ignore

Bedtelly · 25/11/2025 19:22

Never ever get a blind 😂

ColaWars · 25/11/2025 19:18

That’s genius 🤣

There's more:

At 8pm, be at the window waving at them.

(Just in case their curiosity was piqued).

That do, Miss? Terribly sorry for wasting the class’s time, Miss.

I'm feeling snarky tonight, clearly. I did notice that bit after I had posted, but couldn’t really be bothered editing my mistake. I figured most people would just ignore! My reply still stands anyway - write the message on the lower part of the window and lower the blind just far enough that the rude neighbours can see that there is a blind there.

Only shit with the windows open and make inappropriate grunts, like you're trying to pass a melon

🤭🤣🤣🤣🫶

WinterHangingBasket · 25/11/2025 19:21

Someone with appropriate IT skills would very quickly be able to scale this into a window sized image, laminate and attach to the window. Hopefully image makes it through the filters. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Shitty note from new Neighbours after moving in
Laylamum2 · 25/11/2025 19:20

We haven’t actually seen our opposite neighbours yet so not sure exactly who lives there. There is a Range Rover Evoque which hasn’t left the drive, that’s all I do know!

We have met both neighbours either side of us who are lovely thankfully.

Send a note back:

Hi Neighbour. I'm having a shit at 8pm tonight.

Send it on notepaper that you'd use for a party invite.

That’s genius 🤣

babyproblems · 25/11/2025 19:17

You could get a window sized lifelike poster of someone sat on the loo and put it in the window 😂 bin the letter!!

ThreeSixtyTwo · 25/11/2025 19:17

YABU
I'd suppose you wanted to know.
And I'd see a short informal note as much easier for both parties than talking face to face about this.

Yes, the wording might be a bit better, but the message was there- the frosted glass isn't enough.
They had no way of knowing you were planning the blinds for the next day.

They have shown themselves

Smile and wave, when you see them, nothing more ☹️

ChattyGeePeaTea · 25/11/2025 19:15

Shitting Santa sticker, for your edification. Or a slightly smaller one.

Although I also quite like this one (not shitting, but definitely seen something he shouldn't).

Edit to add that I think this is the best of the shitting santas. I now regard myself as a shitting santa connoisseur. Sorry for the Temu links but if you need an emergency shitting santa, that's where you're going to get one.

SoMuchBadAdvice · 25/11/2025 19:15

Nifty50something · 25/11/2025 18:30

I'd probably buy a plain white blind, draw a bum on it with a sharpie and hang it up facing the neighbours. But that might not be the most mature response.

My thought - except that I was thinking of sticking a turd photo on the blind.
