Hello

My workplace has a vending machine. I bought a £2 drink this morning from it but the metal thingy turned around but didnt release the item so it got stuck.

I went to get more change to buy the one behind it/above it to try to release it, but the original one that was stuck was gone...

Im pissed off about this.

What do you make of this?

Do you think im being unreasonable?

I've had the opposite happen (and oh yes, this is not a humble brag) I've bought a drink and had a twix randomly pop out with it. Went to retrieve my bounty and there was a pack of crisps in the bottom as well. 3 for the price of one. Had all the major food groups for lunch that day.

You should have just rocked the machine back and forward a little to make the drink fall out.

I once did that and five bottles came out! I put the extra ones down by the machine and beat a very hasty retreat.

Call up the Spanish Inquisition, and have them set up shop in your workplace. This is way more important than medieval heresy.

My boss bought a Lion Bar out of the machine and it was made of wood.

A display bar had got mixed up with the edible ones, somewhere in the system.

I think the level of mirth and joy this would engender in my colleagues as I toured my fake Lion bar around the office and then used it as a perpetual desk ornament would make this utterly worth it.

A... a wooden... display bar?

No, sorry, not having that

A friend told me that one of her niece's colleague's bridesmaids once got a Twix that was actually just a Twick. There was only one in there.

Since then I always feel for two Twix before I make a purchase and that's why I never buy them from vending machines. I mean, you never know. It just doesn't bear thinking about.

You snooze you loose.

FreyjaOfTheNorth · 25/11/2025 19:32

Thoughts and prayers. This must be harrowing.

Hankunamatata · 25/11/2025 19:32

Annoying but not really a drama or surprising. Someone brought something. Stuck one fell out. They were hardly just going to leave it on the side.

DedododoDedadada · 25/11/2025 19:30

There is normally contact details of the company on the machine, just contact them and tell them you didn't get your item and ask for a refund.

Neveranynamesleft · 25/11/2025 19:26

Are you short of something to do....

Lambington · 25/11/2025 19:24

There will be a phone number somewhere on the machine. Call it and await instructions.

You are being unreasonable for forking out 2 quid on a vending machines drink. Buy a multitasking at the supermarket and take one every day. You will save a fortune 🤣

lol at multitasking

It was the final straw frankly.

Shit, you ran out of straws too??

It really wasn't your day, was it? 😁

Lol. My cup certainly didn't runneth over.

On one occasion I went to open a can of drink and the pull snapped off. It was actually in my hand and I couldn't drink it.
Also, last week my colleague made me a coffee and put milk on it. I'm vegan so I couldn't drink that either.
It was the final straw frankly. And I vowed there and then to guard against future drink related mishaps by sticking to water.

What do you make of this?

That you clearly have nothing else going on in your life that you needed to make a post about this non-event! 😂

OP has posted about it on MN, just as you have. You've posted about someone posting about a non-event. By your logic, you've got even less going on in your life than OP! Wink

I'd be calling Tango and Cash.

I can`t disagree they would be my first call.
