Talk to me about Tattle Life

Ive heard people talking about it on here before but didn’t really know what it was other than a forum. I’ve recently stumbled across a thread on there about an ‘influencer’ I’ve followed for years who has become progressively more annoying and false. Some of the comments on this tattle thread are needlessly unkind but others echo exactly what I’ve been thinking about her. Albeit I’m not sure id ever put those thoughts out there where they could hurt someone.

So is Tattle basically just a space for being nasty about people? Please excuse the naivety but other than MN, instagram and Facebook I’m not really a big social media user.

A quick search on here tells me there was a big reveal recently of the owner of the site, as if he was in trouble or something. So is it a site that’s looked down on?

If you don't like it, maybe just don't read it?

The mumsnet thread is funny and highlights threads over here that I normally wouldn't read. I don't read any of the influencer threads, most of them I have never heard of. I stick to celebrity gossip mostly, although currently there is very little happening in the celeb world.

teawiththetaxman · 27/11/2025 16:26

'Tattle is definitely a place where people say nasty horrible things just for the sake of it'... avoid, avoid..have you all read MN lately..!!!!
Dare I say a lot of posters with very detailed thoughts on what a bad bad place Tattle is...interesting (that's if you can really be interested in two very bitchy sites).

Allswellthatendswelll · 27/11/2025 16:17

Thank you for the recommendation of the mumsnet threads which are hilarious- especially finding all the competitive under-eating posts!

I do agree with this I’m afraid. I don’t like bullying in any forms but if you put your entire life out there (and your kids) then some people will not agree with your views, lifestyle and choices. I have followed an influencer for years, back when she had a blog and found her relatable and quite enjoyable to read. But her attitude and content has changed loads, she’s deeply irritating and contradictory. And if anyone offers an alternative view she is so rude and basically eggs on her sheep to pile on to the poster who dared to disagree with her.

Plus she massively overshares about her kids one of whom is now a teenager. I don’t think some of the comments about her are particularly pleasant or relevant but I do think her attitude should be called out. Like most influencers she seems happy to reap the freebies and adoration but can’t handle any criticism.

They really can’t complain.

If they want to carry on getting freebies and sponsored content, then these are the punches they have to roll with. People will have an opinion and sometimes it won’t be nice. If you can’t hack it, get another job.

And while no one should be nasty about children, the parent shouldn’t be posting them to thousands of strangers. It’s the parent soley at fault there, they aren’t protecting their child.

Honestly, it was the other influencers and bloggers that made me jack it in in the end. Not being mentioned on tattle (although they were nicer about it me than some of the other influencers I knew were!). It’s all such bollocks, I just couldn’t be bothered with it anymore. It attracts some seriously odd people who can’t take any negative feedback without losing their minds.

If only there was a way to stop that…..scratching my head here…..

Oh yes! Stop posting yourself and your children online if you can’t take any negative comments. Not everyone is going to like you in life. I am sure people at work slag me off behind my back. If I put myself on line, I’d expect it to happen there too. It’s not rocket science.

Or, they could take their own advice, “if you don’t like me, don’t follow me.” Well, if you know there is a gossip forum, don’t read it.

A whole heap of them bleat on about online safety as well (when they are paid to do it for an ad). Keeping their children away from social media - while simultaneously posting pictures and videos of them on social media. Is it any wonder they attract criticism?

Edited

I found it to be vile, an echo chamber where people are egging each other on. Even kids are slagged off. If they were just calling out things like influencers using their kids for fame I’d be like ok, but they criticise people looks/weight/kids/everything is fair game

It really depends. They have unveiled a lot of scammy influencers, but also have hideous threads attacking cancer youtubers - really mixed bag and probably one of those things whose toxicity you don't want to be chronically exposed to.

It’s different from Mumsnet in that no one ever disagrees with each other. They join a thread to rip the shit out of whoever the subject is and they have that hatred in common.

So they seem supportive of each other rather than arguing like we do on here. It’s mutual stroking (there’s a cruder expression for this).

I would love to know what would happen if some of the (for example) Meghan supporters from here managed to infiltrate their Meghan hate thread and disagree with them in the same way that happens on Mumsnet. Because you never see a dissenting voice. Do they get banned?

I wish the Meghan haters from here would all just fuck off over there. They’ve completely taken over the RF board and it’s unusable to anyone who doesn’t want to slag Meghan off. Some of them literally post Meghan hate from morning til night. It’s such a strange board now.

I can’t post on there as my account needs verifying and it doesn’t work. Secret Celebrity gossip threads are my favourite. Really funny and random. The mumsnet one makes me laugh. I don’t really follow any influencers except the Jake Quickenden one as he blocked me for commenting he shouldn’t have a pic of his naked son in the bath on insta 🙄 With all forums there’s a lot of supportive comments and toxic ones. Reddit and X are horrendous so I’ve never got why the focus is on Tattle.

SoftPlayForDogs · 26/11/2025 23:12

C4tintherug · 26/11/2025 19:30

I think we must follow the same family! 6 children (5 + 1 “adult”)
it’s outrageous what some of these influencers are doing to their children and tattle is the only place we can talk about it without it being deleted. The lies are kept and their inconsistencies are made public.
It makes me so mad that the children have no say in this at all, the isolation, the lack of education, and the gas lighting that this is their “best life”

Yes that the ones. Those poor children and as you say, they’re constantly told they’re living their best life and how lucky they are. It’s abuse and neglect in plain sight. 😞

I don’t follow ‘influencers’ as it’s all smoke screen and mirrors with them a lot of the time. There’s one ‘influencer’ who lives near us. I’m going to name change after this post due to what I’m about to say. She made her ‘fame’ on TikTok initially posting videos of her packing packed lunches for her son who has SEN. The “you're jealous” rubbish is trotted out repeatedly and to be frank, the woman I’m talking about is vile. If you knew her in RL like many of us do everyone would avoid her. She’s told so many lies it’s laughable, Sitting on planes pretending she’s been left alone after falling asleep, using mourjano but proclaiming to having lost the weight through eating a healthy diet (after she posted a video of her fridge with a mourjano pen in it). Accusing her ex husband of domestic abuse…the list of this woman’s lies is laughable and her content is outrageous. The worst part is she continually posts about her sons disability with him having meltdowns when her views are low. I don’t care who the ‘influencer’ is but you don’t post your children’s most vulnerable moments on social media ans expect not to be judged by doing it. At one point she was suing Tattle (as well as many others). Let’s face it, only one couple has sued Tattle and it was yesterdays news and tomorrows fish and chip paper. It’s not a site I use but, come on, you only need to go on Reddit and it’s exactly the same.

Ha, I was waiting for a post about this person to pop up. Big Teefs gets around.

SpoonBaloon · 26/11/2025 22:59

Tattle is quite a decent forum as it’s one of the only ones that exist now that doesn’t have insane levels of censorship.

Yes, of course some of the posts can be quite cutting and there’s the odd thread which may be nastier than others, but on the whole it’s quite a nice community with a lot of humour and a decent bit of advice. The behaviour on Mumsnet is far, far worse in my opinion.

I don’t go onto the Influencer threads. I assume this is where the bad reputation comes from. But the most controversial stuff I’ve seen there is probably from the Harry and Meghan threads - which have actually exposed a few things over the years.

I think I started there with the Phillip Schofield situation when he first came out. Every single detail (and more) was posted there many years before his eventual downfall.

IsntItDarkOut · 26/11/2025 22:51

I joined because there was a time you couldn’t say anything negative about JM without it being deleted. Tattle did good work showing her up for what she is.

DuchessDandelion · 26/11/2025 22:50

@DontGoJasonWaterfalls OK. I've seen a pretty vulnerable person trolled quite badly there

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 26/11/2025 22:48

DuchessDandelion · 26/11/2025 22:46

It's not just that, they're pretty nasty about some people. Dressing bullying up as 'calling people out' doesn't stop it being bullying, anymore than does some people finding some cruel remarks funny

Any MNer I've seen referenced by name in a negative way on tattle has generally been pretty shit to people on here, or is an obvious troll. Mumsnet is far nastier than Tattle, it just disguises it under passive aggressive attitudes and undeserved superiority.

DuchessDandelion · 26/11/2025 22:46

DontGoJasonWaterfalls · 26/11/2025 22:23

I don't post but often read various threads including the Mumsnet one. They're absolutely spot on; people just dislike them because they call out all the teeny tiny Mumsnet waifs with 6ft rugby player hollow leg sons and they're able to recognise bullshit on here far better than most MN members or mods can.

It's vicious and not my cup of tea at all. I think it's also often truthful though and I think was one of the first places where people openly spoke about seeing through through Jack Monroe.

Yes, and didn’t Clemmie Hooper reveal herself on there a few years back?
