Things you wouldn't admit in real life - part three

Arlanymor · 22/11/2025 21:10

I think part two is about to be closed as it's reached 40 pages.

So here is the new thread to continue or to share something new... I have one.

There is someone who used to be in my life who I would move heaven and earth to be with. The only reason I don't is because he went back to a bad situation because he had children - if he didn't have children, we would be together now. We didn't cheat by the way, he was separated. He made his choice. I understand it, even if I can't respect it because ultimately the bad situation is still bad for all involved and he went back due to a large amount of emotional blackmail that he couldn't withstand.

But there are moments where I just think: "Buy a plane ticket - text him that you're down the road - and let the cards fall as they may..."

I fancy my husband’s boss and he fancies me. We have an unspoken agreement not to act on it as we both adore DH but it is still nice. We don’t see one another too often but when we do, I love how his eyes sparkle.

Can you link the correct part 2? There are quite a few but none look the right one

My mother in law is staying with us after an operation. Shes lovely but she asks so many questions. I also have a student that never stops talking all day in work. Im over stimulated

TinselTina · 14/12/2025 20:18

Also I find parenting so exhausting.

TinselTina · 15/12/2025 09:40

Just me with secrets then 😂

PeeledOranges · 15/12/2025 10:02

I have four children. On most days this feels like four too many. Especially since their DF died. I would quite like it if they could all grow up and be very independent so I can recover from the trauma of the last ten years of my life.
Instead I have to support and parent older teens, two of which have Autism diagnosis.

TinselTina · 15/12/2025 12:08

That sound so stressful. How old are they all?

PeeledOranges · 15/12/2025 12:22

@TinselTina two are in their twenties and two are 17 and 19. So not little kids now and I have done the hard slog of parenting teens by myself! But I am so done now. I feel bad coz the 17 year old still needs me as do the others really.

I sometimes wish I had taken the midnight taxi with my son to spend the night with someone I really loved about 20 years ago.

XigDoop · 31/08/2026 00:40

I despise my sister in law because of the horrible way she treats her kids.

I hate my step sister for the same reason, it makes me rage internally.

I hate to admit I have also ‘mum shamed’ her more times than I can count, though I will probably do it again because I love my nieces and nephews.

I actually judge quite a lot of parents, mainly just in my head, for a lot of different reasons. My education was centred around child psychology/child development/education, and I work with children, so it’s not like it’s just for thinking differently than I do but being harmful for their children in some way.

I’m in love with a man who’s 15 years younger than me and is a work colleague;we’ve over the past 18 months played a game of cat and mouse where we’ve been either emotionally or physically closer to one another than colleagues really should;we’ve never actually acted upon this ridiculous behaviour though.

He’s single;I’m not but my relationship hasn’t been in a good place but myself and my significant other are working on it.

I’m actively looking for another job even though id rather not as I want to protect my relationship;when I leave I don’t plan on keeping in touch with said colleague and will be sensible and sever all ties with him even though it’ll make me very sad.

I would say I'm glad it's not just me but that's not quite appropriate. When she's screaming at them I want to slap her.

I regret having kids later in life but then again I didn't really have a choice to have them earlier.

rivalsbinge · 31/08/2026 02:23

I sometimes wish I didn’t have to care for my elderly parent, I’m the default daughter my charming sister has cut all ties and I’m the one who’s finally raised my DS they are 20s and find im now responsible for my DM, it’s just crept up on me and the last year I’ve started to feel a bit resentful that my 50s will now vanish into more caring responsibilities. For now her needs are low but it’s just hanging over me daily that I have this new human to care for and I feel a bit shit writing it down. I would never rever say anything IRL.

I feel for you. I also have a sister who has checked out. It's always me who my mum asks for when she needs help. I can assure you my sister will be the first one there when the inheritance is dished out though.

Are you a parent yourself?
