My husband just hit me in front of my 2 year old daughter.

I’m terrified for my daughter that she had to witness this …

Why won't you say which country you live in? Impossible to advise.

What can the police do ?
I was calling the national abuse line - no answer. I have tried to reach them so many times - never available. It looks so scary, where am I going to go in a foreign country with a 2 year old?

Can you go home? I think you’d have a much clearer head if you have your family around you to support you and your daughter.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/11/2025 00:49

Can you tell us which country you're in.

JetFlight · 22/11/2025 00:49

I’m sorry you had to go through this.
Please don’t take him back.
His behaviour will escalate. No matter how apologetic he is, no matter how much he grovels know that it will not last and next time he will be even more dangerous.

PoisedGoldBiscuit · 22/11/2025 00:48

Are you in the UK now? Call 999, as you don't know if or when he'll come back, he's been aggressive and erratic and you're worried about his next move. Tell them what's happened and that you have a 2 year old in the house. I know it's scary, but it's natural as any change can be worrying, but you're taking positive steps to support your child.

Women's aid. Go tomorrow . Don't delay. Lock him out tonight. Don't tell him your plan
Take any money you have and some personal belongings and flee.

HarlotOTara · 22/11/2025 00:47

Please ring the police, they should put you in touch with a domestic abuse organisation. If you are on a spouse visa you can still be helped.

CheeseIsMyIdol · 22/11/2025 00:46

What country are you in?

DancyNancy · 22/11/2025 00:44

I don't know the safest way to get out but please do. Others will advise. Someone I know was murdered this week. You do not want to be another headline or statistic.
Please. Get away

So sorry to hear this, well done for reaching out for help on here.
Your little one will be fine, but you must call the police and stop him coming back in. I know it feels like a huge step, but you need to do this to safeguard both of you in the future. The next few months will be tough, but are needed to give you both the life you deserve.

Are you in the UK? Do you have friends nearby? Call the police and don’t let him back in.

Jeschara · 22/11/2025 00:33

Call the Police. I don't know if they can contact a company to change the locks. You cannot let this man back into the house. The safety of you and your daughter is paramount.

SandyY2K · 22/11/2025 00:31

This relationship is unsafe. You need to think about how you're going to separate and coparent.

Needanadvice · 22/11/2025 00:26

He has started to abuse me emotionally intensively since the birth of our daughter, every day there are insults like “look at you- fat cow”, “ you are a fucking cunt”, “you are a fucking idiot”, “
I want a divorce”, “ can’t wait for you to get out of this house”, “ I can’t stand you “.
Today the insults continued for so long I spit on his face of disgust - he stood up he hit me very hard and he spit on me in my face. Then, he did like he will box me and all of this while I was holding my daughter. Then he took my hand saying “come
hit me, come hit me “

My family don’t live in the UK sadly, he just packed a small bag and he drove off.

I’m so worried about my little one :(

Dead lock all the doors so he can’t get back in. Phone the police and report it as an assault. Your daughter will be ok as long as this doesn’t happen again.

You need to leave. Do you have access to money? Do you have a friend to go to? You need to call the police and report him. If you don't have access to money or a safe place then call womens aid.

Call the police. Don't second guess yourself

Call the police and report it. If he has done it once he can do it again.

Call the police.

Call any relative or friend that would take you in tonight

ThroughTheRedDoor · 22/11/2025 00:17

Get out of the house with her.

Call 999.

Whats he doing now? Can you call your mum, dad, sibling, best mate?
