I know it’s early but I left my husband for a few hours yesterday, two cans of snow spray and asked him to do something nice with it on our front room window.. Came home to this, amazing stuff I think. Should I start pimping him out, would you pay for this, how much? If

Poor Edward Trunk.
Mind you, those Rupert characters go back a long way, not surprised not everyone recognises them.
How's the video of your friend's Paddington ouevre coming along, @OnToast81 ?

Just on our way to hers now, I’ll post it once it’s done.

Don't like the elephant one. Weird.

Fabulous stuff, he should pursue this! Or at least have a happy making sideline every Xmas!

OnToast81 · 22/11/2025 08:30

Thanks everyone, I’ll definitely take a video of him doing his friends window today. He’s really pleased with your comments.
I’ve always known that he can draw a good picture on paper but even he is surprised at how lovely this creation is.

Dear me! He’s amazing!

TimeForATerf · 22/11/2025 07:08

I love the Rupert bear one! Very clever. I’m Mrs Grinch, so I wouldn’t pay, I’m pushed to put a tree up these days, but what a talent!

MyDeftDuck · 22/11/2025 07:00

I know people who pay a great deal of money every year to have their windows decorated for Christmas. Your DH is very talented and could potentially earn some serious cash leading up to Christmas but he has to want to do it, there’s no pleasure in being pressured to use a talent in that way…….hope that makes sense and I don’t mean to be unkind.

Talk to him and see how he feels……then consider approaching local shops, businesses, and tell your friends……who in turn will tell theirs etc.

Why have you marked your photos as sensitive? Do you think the MN population is too left wing to cope with Rupert and his friends?😄

The window is really lovely - he’s very talented.
Is Rupert the Bear right wing though? I’ve always seen him as pretty apolitical - if anything maybe slightly to the left.

MapBringsJoy · 22/11/2025 06:37

Love this!

whattheysay · 22/11/2025 06:35

He is amazingly talented. Many people or business would pay for this on their window. I have seen seasonal window artists advertise on Facebook and they are nowhere near as talented as your husband.

Greycatclub · 22/11/2025 06:20

Hey OP, we have ours done. Cost we pay is £70 per hour and our large (floor to ceiling almost) bag window takes 2-3 hours

monty2020 · 22/11/2025 06:02

Really impressive, not seen anything like this before 🤩

hattie43 · 22/11/2025 05:23

Amazing

springintoaction2 · 22/11/2025 04:53

@OnToast81 your DH needs to change professions - to artist!

They’re almost suspiciously good. Are you sure he didn’t hire a professional to do it while you were out? Ask him to do one while you’re watching 🤣

😂 Talented people do have families! Some of them even have family members on Mumsnet, or are Mumsnetters.

It’s good, and if he practices his depth perception he could be on to something. If he has a look at snow graffiti on insta, https://www.instagram.com/snow.graffiti.scott?igsh=N2tveGkwemd3dGoy he has some amazing tutorials - that’s how I learned.

Rupert Bear was his inspiration perhaps.

Your husband is clever with spray.

puppymaddness · 22/11/2025 01:59

Incredible

StruggleFlourish · 22/11/2025 01:45

Just saw op's latest post and I wanted to say yes definitely... If he's doing another artwork tomorrow (Paddington) and someone is there who's half decent with a camera and has the time and your friend doesn't mind an extra person they're filming, definitely definitely, take video. And not just from behind him, do it from the other side of the window as well, so that you're looking right at him as he's spraying, you might want a two camera setup, which shouldn't be all that difficult, everybody's got a phone right? If one person like your friend could video from the outside (just for a minute or so) and one person from the inside or put a camera on a tripod, have it running the whole time and then you can speed it up so it looks like he's super fast cuz no one wants to watch in real time, everybody needs everything to be fast, but that would be really great.
It would get a lot of views, not only because it's a different form of art, using spray snow on windows, but also because it's seasonal, and also because he's so talented!
YouTube shorts allows for 3 minutes now not just one, but the video has to be in portrait / up and down orientation which is something to be considered before taking the video.
