AIBU that this is the most ridiculous thing for a company to claim.

"Can a transgender woman have a period? Absolutely. Many trans and gender-diverse people menstruate. Whether you’re a woman, a man, non-binary or agender, your body may menstruate too."

Oh FFS

"Many trans women have periods. Some trans women don’t have uteruses, so they won’t bleed as part of a monthly menstrual cycle. But the hormonal experience of menstruation can still be very real.
Some trans women undergo gender-affirming treatment in the form of feminising hormones. These symptoms may occur at the same time each month, just like premenstrual syndrome (PMS). For many trans women, this is their period."

Seriously? Some transwomen i.e. males don't have uteruses? No transwomen have a uterus and they don't have a menstrual cycle ( you need a female reproductive system for that) they are merely experiencing the rather unpleasant side effects of taking cross sex hormones.

SanFairyAnnie · 21/11/2025 15:38

They are run by an Australian team according to Companies house and there's a correspondence address.

Letthemeatgateau · 21/11/2025 15:37

The best thing any of us can do to help end this nonsense is stop buying from companies like Modibodi. That's the only way they'll pack it in.

Littlejellyuk · 21/11/2025 15:36

I don't understand, where is the blood coming from? Their arsehole? 🤔
If a man is bleeding down there and doesn't have a uterus, then he needs to click his heels and toddle off to the GP pronto!

From their website-

Many trans women have periods.
For many trans women, this is their period.

They don't even understand the audience they are trying to attract. Trans women take hormones every day, it is not in a monthly cycle with different fluctuations of hormones like it is for biological (real) women. They are literally just making shit up now.

It’s just outrageous shite, isnt it? I don’t know whether young girls around eleven are still clueless about periods like I was in the mid-60s, but to read all this kind of thing you'd not know East from West.
If a girl wasn't getting any helpful info from anyone close, she could be absorbing all kinds of nonsense.
Well, boys too of course. God knows what youngsters make of it all. Just saying ‘Live and let live’ and to hell with biological differentiation is not useful at that age.

Boomer55 · 21/11/2025 15:34

Of course they do. Biological men are known for having periods. 🙄🤷‍♀️

Said no one ever.

SheinIsShite · 21/11/2025 15:33

Trans women’s periods are just as real and valid as anyone else’s,

What a load of bollocks.

This utter bollocks is minimising what so many women go through every month with periods. Sleeping on a towel because of flooding, anaemia, changing sanpro every hour, fibroids, pain. GP not doing anything because "it's just one of those things". Yet we are supposed to simultaneously "affirm" someone who claims they are going through just the same thing as women every month even though they don't have the equipment?

Seriously. Unhinged.

katseyes7 · 21/11/2025 15:33

I saw a post about this on social media the other day.
Male to female trans person saying they were having periods, and going into graphic detail about it.

I genuinely have no problem with transexuals of any kind. So long as they're happy and not harming anyone else, be what you want to be.
But seriously, that is deluded at best, and at worst a mental health issue.

Oddly enough I did this morning, quite before this thread, see an ad for Modibodi. It had a very skinny young (cis) woman in their pants. I've never worked out if they are meant to be worn instead of tampons/ towels/ ye olde Hoiked tissue paper wedge or as a backup. I mean, why use that and then have to soak it or whatever and then laundering. I did wonder if they would try and enlist Dylan thingy. I guess they will

I wear period pants at night, as well as a tampon, so that my mattress and protector don't get ruined. But some who don't have overly heavy bleeding just wear them in place of sanitary pads, as they're more environmentally friendly.

The human race has run it's course. It's time for a giant asteroid/deadly zombie plague/nuclear Armageddon/insert your choice of world ending catastrophe.

I agree, in deadly earnest.

Who owns this stupid and ridiculous company? Anybody know?

Muffinmam · 21/11/2025 15:28

This ridiculous rhetoric from the left just pushes more people towards conservatism.

The concerning thing is while people are arguing whether or not a genetic male can release menstrual blood from their uterus every month (they can’t) then we aren’t discussing the real issues.

Waitingfordoggo · 21/11/2025 15:14

The more I think about it, the more incensed I am by the section about how to support your male friends or family members who pretend to be women.

Be a good ally. Be kind. Don’t ask intrusive questions (like ‘how come you think you’re having a period when we both know you’ve got a cock and balls?’)

WHY on a website which is entirely centred around women and women’s bodies, is there a whole section instructing us to Be Kind to men? And not just any men but men who intrude in and attempt to colonise our spaces, our experiences, our lives?

We aren’t allowed anything just for ourselves- even the things we don’t want but are stuck with, like periods. I’m fuming at the gaslighting.

Absolutely.

Hey women! Be kind and let your male friend / partner fetishise your body's functions.

FairKoala · 21/11/2025 15:24

senua · 21/11/2025 12:47

"Can a transgender woman have a period?
It doesn't say transwoman. It says transgender woman i.e. transman.

Is this company saying that as a transman, you might believe you are a man but you can’t change your female biology?

charcoalandsugar · 21/11/2025 15:24

But if anyone can have a period and some trans women (men) have uterus’s, then why did the NHS substitute the word woman with ‘Uterus havers’ to make things clear. Or ‘cervix havers’ . If that wasn’t insulting enough now we can’t even define ourselves as a body part. 😂

Crambino · 21/11/2025 15:24

Well I honestly couldn’t care less who buys and wears the pants, whatever floats your boat, live and let live etc.

I do think it is ridiculous that they say ‘some’ trans women don’t have a uterus though. I’m quite tempted to e-mail them to ask for clarification about the identity of transwomen with a uterus, because it’s not an identity I have come across before…

She is summarising TRA logic.

I'm not surprised that you are confused

Thank you for that. 💕
I honestly thought the poster was being serious and I'd stepped into the Twilight zone. 😫

JFDIYOLO · 21/11/2025 15:20

Menophilia is an unfortunate fetish with some men, including some transwomen and non-binary members of the male sex.

Another ‘gem’ from that website, ‘Bottom line is, people of all genders menstruate. Trans women’s periods are just as real and valid as anyone else’s, so…’. blah blah…

(Why am I wasting time on this when I’ve got 14 horrible houseworky jobs to do??)

Waitingfordoggo · 21/11/2025 15:15

@Lalgarh Some use them as backup, some use them on their own. As for why: much better for the environment and our budgets.

madaboutpurple · 21/11/2025 15:15

Has anyone told them there is a song Only women bleed. Will they be blaming their periods for their bad moods.? PMS etc. What next I ask will they be complaining about?
