“Shut up, piggy”.

Trump told a female reporter this. How come this behaviour is accepted but if it was former president Obama, people would have lost their mind. Obama had to practically be ‘perfect’. When Obama wore a tan suit, it was such a huge deal.

Racism is a sick illness.

Thinking rationally here; he said "Quiet, piggy!". Not the same as saying "Shut up!". He's not a fan of Bloomberg which she is a reporter for. The outlet is probably a heavily-biased news outlet favoured by Democrats. He was probably thinking a lot worse but was tame in his words given he was on camera. 'Piggy' is hardly insulting and if you find that it is, then, well, no advice for you from me. It's all tabloid fodder designed to rile people up, and it's worked.

Well I think the president of the United States calling a journalist Piggy is absolutely purple, juvenile behaviour. What does it matter that the journalist is from a paper which backs different politics?
As for quiet vs shut up, neither is acceptable in a reply to any question from a journalist to a politician, let alone one about Trump's ties to Epstein which that is absolutely acceptable to keep asking about.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 22/11/2025 21:53

Emily Maitlis’s comment nailed it. ‘He has no argument, so he resorts to abuse.’ Or words to that effect.

It's currently the front page on the telegraph. Which tells you it's a pretty big deal. He's disgusting but not sure why you're trying to make it about racism.

OP is saying that if Obama had done it he would have been called out on it because a black man as a president cannot put a foot wrong. He has to be completely perfect, above and beyond what a white president would get away with.

However, I would say this has gone far beyond just race as to be honest, ANY other president bar Trump would’ve been ousted a long time ago. Trump is a dictator no one dares to question

Greggsit · 18/11/2025 19:50

You're being unreasonable because people are not accepting it. It's a major news story with a lot of condemnation.

But he’s not being asked to resign is he? The White House is accepting it. Media condemnation doesn’t matter a fig if those in power are not questioning whether he’s fit to continue in power.

People have to cool their hatred and to stop "misinterpreting" the truth.

What's the truth? And what's the "misinterpretation"?

wantom · 22/11/2025 19:37

If Trump can run a third time, then so can Obama. Simplistic I know, but then again T might just declare himself as President and what reaction would there be to that?. Scary times, but I really hope that there will be an uprising if that happens. Wishful thinking maybe.

I'm not a political nerd, I just follow it at a high level without getting into the deep analyses. However I think Trump is getting away with it because the Republicans in Congress and the Senate and Red States refuse to criticise him openly, with some rare exceptions and look what happened there - MTG for example.

I wonder if the mid terms will change the flavour of things if the Dems wipe the boards. I don't know, as I said I'm a total amateur about all this.

Why is he never brought to account for anything?

Probably the fact that everyone is shit scared of being sued by him as he's a billionaire. Extremely wealthy people shouldn't be allowed to run for presidency or prime minister here. The whole world is corrupt as fuck. It makes me sick to the stomach💩I wonder when we'll get to see these Epstein files...........

bbwbwka · 22/11/2025 18:34

I wouldn't say it's racism. The comment is par for the course for trump, but obama didn't behave in this manner so it would have been far more shocking for him to say.

HellsBellsAndCatsWhiskers · 22/11/2025 18:31

MGT has spent years being hated by the Left. 24 hours of being hated by the Right and she needs full security. It must be a bitter pill to swallow.

Guess which ones tend to be armed to the teeth and have no conscience...

Sen. Elissa Slotkin says police responded to her home tonight in response to a bomb threat. Slotkin wasn't at home at the time.

This is two days after Trump said Slotkin and other Democrats committed "seditious conspiracy, punishable by death."

RedTagAlan · 22/11/2025 04:51

I see his former best pal, MGT, has resigned.

I am positive she was on his mind when he said piggy.

He was likely thinking of using Miss Piggy as a nickname for her.

And no, I am not commenting of looks etc, but it is the level he works at.

@EddyF How come this behaviour is accepted

Who accepted this?

The millions who voted him back in for a start.

Yeah, bigly word that.
However, I think he does, full well.

DuncinToffee · 22/11/2025 10:04

He has called MGT all kinds on his Truth Social

Don't mention the Epstein Files.

Groceries … an old fashioned word …it’s what you call food….costs are way down…eggs are down.. 97-98%.’

It’s like an eight year old talking to a group of his 8 year old classmates. Groceries …it’s an old fashioned word

It's terrifying how much power this man has.

BeeWitchy · 21/11/2025 21:57

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 21/11/2025 21:42

Although, again, it might just be because he doesn't have a very wide vocabulary. I've never heard him use a word a 9 year old wouldn't know.

Trump to UAE president: "We have a term 'groceries.' It's an old term but it means basically what you're buying, food, it's a pretty accurate term but it's an old fashioned sound but groceries are down."

I saw it as misogyny, not racism.

Also, it was " Quiet, piggy"

Edited

The poster meant that the difference in how Trump is treated compared to how Obama was treated indicates racism. You’re definitely right on the misogyny though.

I was going to do an explainer about “fish” being at one time a derogatory term for women, but then I googled and it turns out he was talking about how he liked McDonald’s fish and how he would like them to put more tartare sauce on it……

Yes, Trump is undoubtedly misogynist but of the 'women are for sex' variety, not the 'women are good for nothing, including sex' type that that type of drag queens are.

Besides, though Trump is hard to describe as socially conservative, I doubt he'd be using drag queen lingo when that would be extremely unpopular with most of his base.

And still pining for that Nobel Peace prize

He might receive the newly invented FIFA peace prize next month.
