My unemployed husband spends all of his time and money on his hobby whilst I raise our 3 children single-handedly, working full time and running the household. He’s a really good dad though

You should give your CF friend a lift to and from her place of work every day from now until she retires, even though it's in the opposite direction from your own work, and you haven't got a car anyway.
