Would your husband care about a one off lesbian kiss

Relatively new fried of year that you’ve instantly clicked with. Both felt a bit lonely being SAHM and married to men who work incredibly unsocial hours. Neither consider themselves lesbians. No feelings involved. Very strange and unexpected.

Ive contemplated telling dh as he may well just laugh it off (he’s very level headed and not a jealous cave man type man) but I don’t see what is to be gained by doing so. It won’t happen again.

Tbh we probably leaned on each other too much and became a tad codependent. Friend and I probably spent far too much time together.

Gross.

As a bisexual woman I would find this deeply offensive if it was my husband. Same sex relationships aren't a kink, and women don't get off with other women just for the pleasure of men.

This is partly why biphobia exists, and why lots of gay women would prefer not to date gay women…

Didimum · 17/11/2025 17:52

My husband would be absolutely devastated.

You're telling yourself a lot of lies here, OP.

MangaKanga · 17/11/2025 16:56

Meh. It's a sexual fantasy.

It would be gross if he were trying to coerce her into a threesome

My husband would fucking love this. He knows I am bisexual and has already said he is OK with me doing stuff with girls as long as i don't lie about it or try to hide it from him. It's always been a little fantasy if his to see two girls together or even a MFF threesome.

That's gross.

I disagree. I kissed a female colleague once years ago. We were both extremely drunk and neither of us were/are lesbians or bi. I'm not sure why it happened - too much booze probably - but I've never been remotely interested in kissing another woman since (and that was over 20 years ago). So I can categorically say that I'm not bi. We've both since married men and had kids.

Well the OP said they were both sober, so it's not the same situation.

And there have been times when I was younger when I've been very drunk but I have never felt the slightest urge to kiss another woman.

Am i the only one rooting for OP and this woman to declare their love, leave their husbands and run away together?

Am I rooting for a marriage breakup?
Er, no, not really.

Suspect the reality would be quite different if you actually had a relationship with a woman while married to him

It's not just a kiss though, it's an emotional affair.

I agree but if the OP did not know she was bi beforehand (quite common) she may have had no idea what she was slipping into until this happened. Now she has a chance to pull right back and end it before it ruins her marriage.

PollyBell · 16/11/2025 03:40

So basically what the op is trying to say is same sex relationships are not serious just straight ones?

'Oh a lesbian is nothing' wouldn't this be insulting and discrimination against people in same sex relationships?

rosyvalentine · 16/11/2025 03:12

BatchCookBabe · 13/11/2025 11:34

Well you're bisexual at the very least. In 50-odd years on this planet, and with dozens of female friends over the years, I have inexplicably managed to not kiss/snog the face off any of them. Even when tipsy/drunk/very drunk.

I probably wouldn't tell my husband if I'd kissed another woman though. Why does he need to know? Unless you're worried SHE will tell him.

I thought i was happy with my husband, and very much straight, i had a good friendship with a woman
Then feelings grew. Ended my marriage and was with her for 10 years

If you want your marriage to work
Stop the friendship all together

JHound · 16/11/2025 02:46

You mean would my partner care if I cheated on them? I think they would - yes.

mummymetalhead · 16/11/2025 02:45

Like you, I have a SAHM friend with the same age children. We do everything together, look after each other’s children and even go abroad together with our kids and leave the husbands at home.
Not once have I ever had the urge to kiss her. Obviously there must have been some form of attraction there for it to have happened. It’s unlikely you’re a completely straight woman and you should probably take some time to consider that.
As for telling your husband, you should.
Cheating is cheating. It doesn’t matter what sex the affair partner is.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 16/11/2025 00:54

Yes my husband would be devastated if I snogged someone else, wouldn’t matter if they were male or female, he would be gutted. It’s not something I could keep from him either, I would have to tell him sooner or later

lilkitten · 15/11/2025 15:11

Depends on your boundaries. I'm polyamorous, generally my DPs wouldn't mind if I kissed someone, but like monogamous people we could put in boundaries to say we're not getting involved with any others. To me, kissing is definitely getting involved with someone, and cheating if you're in a closed relationship or have otherwise said it's not permitted. At one time we had closed our circle off to other people, and I wouldn't have kissed anyone during that time.

TheIceBear · 14/11/2025 12:47

This is cheating and if it happened sober there must be some sexual attraction between you (in some way), hanging around together all the time does not explain this at all, it sounds like you are trying to justify and make excuses.
if this is a one off I wouldn’t disclose but this is a wake up call. You need to fully reflect on this , possibly change your lifestyle and also put steps in place to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Could you even consider going to work part time or something like that ? It sounds like you are feeling really lonely .

BauhausOfEliott · 14/11/2025 12:46

Draytoncb · 13/11/2025 20:34

Probably not. Have you ever wondered why at a gathering it is not seen as outrageous if two women exchange kisses on the cheek, but if men do it is a little odd. This of course doesn't apply with my Italian male friends.

There's a big difference between a peck on the cheek (whether between men or women) and a full-on kiss. A hello/goodbye kiss on the cheek isn't a sexual gesture in the slightest. It's non-sexual affection - people do it to their own kids, as well as friends, relatives etc. It's not remotely the same thing as a a romantic kiss on the lips or a proper snog with tongues.

dh280125 · 14/11/2025 12:26

You mean find it hot and try to engineer more? Yes, probably.

Tanya901 · 14/11/2025 09:38

LiveToTell · 13/11/2025 17:54

Exactly. You can’t be straight OP to have had the urge to do this. That’s fine, sometimes people realise later in life that their preferences aren’t what they thought they were. I have NEVER wanted to kiss a woman even when I’ve had a drink or two. Not even slightly tempted.

I doubt my DH would be impressed. Interestingly, if HE kissed another man I would leave him in a heartbeat. If he kissed another woman it would depend on the circumstances. I guess my thinking may be of the view that if it’s another woman, there’s a chance for us, but if he’s discovered he’s gay, well there’s no hope is there?

People can be bisexual too, to varying degrees. Sexuality is a spectrum.

Mackerelfillets · 14/11/2025 09:27

My advice would be don't tell your husband. If there was nothing in it and it won't happen again I wouldn't want to know. There is nothing to gain, you just have to learn from it.
