Chariot by Westlife. Do people actually like that song as much as Radio 2 seem to think they do (based on the fact they play it every 12 minutes)?

I would like to find out by doing a highly scientific poll here.

YABU - it's the song of the year and the lyrics are just pure poetry
YANBU - it's fucking terrible and they can't sing either.

As far as I'm concerned, there is no in between.

I often wonder how much the BBC, or at least certain producers get paid to promote shite songs.

I don't listen to Radio 2, but Radio 6 Music often play an absolute garbage new song seemingly on repeat for weeks on end (hot chip I'm looking at you).

Google tells me they don't take payment to promote but I don't believe that for a second.

You might be right, they may be paid to play it. I can't understand what there is to enjoy about it. The singing is baaaad, and the lyrics are just naff. I do genuinely feel like Scott Mills (who I like, unlike most other MN's) plays it to take the piss. It's just bad on all parts IMO.

I’m with you OP - it’s awful & I actually feel a bit embarrassed for them when I hear it. I don’t know how these things work but Radio 2 must be being paid a lot to play it or something 😂
