She's dying isn't she?

Mum discharged herself from hospital today.

Hiatus hernia. She can't eat or drink anything. Literally throws it straight back up.

Can't walk because her lower back is buggered.

UTI in blood. Been given antibiotics but nothing seems to be giving her a boost.

Sat in a sodding chair for 36 hours at A&E. Not slept for at least 48. Said she just wanted to go home.

I'm really scared 😭

Oh, McS, my heart bleeds for you.
I know it's a lot while this is hitting you & your family like a tonne of bricks, but try what you can to get her into a hospice if there is one in your area. They're experts in palliative care - & in supporting families.

I echo this.

Smilesinthesunshine · 19/11/2025 22:01

So very sorry xx

wizzler · 19/11/2025 22:01

I’m so so sorry.
You knew though didn’t you. Twelve days ago you knew yet the incompetence shown by so many staff to get to this point -what a waste of the last 12 days.
Honestly the NHS is dreadful -I’m sending love and hope as a family you can all pull together in this hard time.

Rhubarb24 · 19/11/2025 21:39

I am so so sorry to read this, heartbreaking the poor battle ur mum has had, this should never have to happen. Our NHS is floored i work in health care, and the weeks coming will be the hardest but do what u can to support you all. If a hospice Is an option please think about it the care is amazing and personal. Please be kind to yourself. Thinking and send love to u all xx
