Brooklyn missed the Sir David Beckham knighthood

How far is too far?

Brooklyn has missed his Dad’s 50th birthday celebrations (in London, Cotswolds and Miami).

His mums Netflix premier and family summer holiday to Italy, instead going to South of France.

Crucially, his Dads Knighthood.

Of course we don’t know at this point if he was in fact invited to Windsor Castle given his no shows elsewhere.

Have you had a family feud, with a parent or sibling notably. How long did it go on for, what did you miss of one another’s and is it still going and why?

AIBU to think Brooklyn is going to regret this one day.

Respectfully, was your brother spoilt? Brooklyn clearly is, my sister is very much spoilt and the one who has cut contact. Many years younger than me with a totally different childhood. I just can’t see many children who grew up with little turning their backs on their family.

Actually no but it was a complicated situation as they worked together (there's a reason they say never work with family!) and other brother would take the piss and not work a full day, leave if his friends turned up etc. So it's kinda the opposite situation where someone thinks their sibling gets an easier time. Saying that he hates everyone so whoever he worked with he would probably despise lol.

Agree re Brooklyn being spoilt, but then maybe he is just married now and that's where his priority lies? Perhaps he will have a change of heart some day. Hope your sister sees sense too-and you get back some sort of relationship (if you'd want that!)

I know! But why let facts get in the way of a bit of gossip 🙄

I think it's because all his other children were there afterwards....

Exactly, he took his parents and his wife (who the moment the camera was on her did that stupid hip thrust forward pose and then wobbled the entire time😂).

I thought his parents looked proud as punch. I'm not a fan of the Beckhams, and I don't think he deserves a knighthood, but his parents seem like nice people who are proud of 'their boy'.

Who fucking cares? It’s so inconsequential to anyone with a brain.

If only we could be nice to each other.

To turn the question around: will his parents regret what they’ve done one day?

Sadly I doubt it because they’ve normalised splashing their children’s lives across the media and they seem to think that giving them ‘opportunities’ like the photography book, releasing a Christmas single etc despite a lack of any discernible talent, is a positive thing.

And that’s fine, but if one year you didn’t and your friends spread rumours that it was because you’d had a massive falling out then that would be a leap.

It would indeed! I get the impression that it was a big holiday including all the other kids though so can see it’s more likely that they didn’t go for a particular reason rather than they just happened to be holidaying separately. That particular reason could be nothing to do with a falling out though.

One of my brothers did this-for a couple years at a similar age to Brooklyn. Then he came back as he needed help, funnily enough...he had to eat some humble pie that's for sure, though he was welcomed back with open arms.

Thing was my brother cut off ALL of us when really his issue was with our other sibling and the preferential treatment he thought my parents gave him. My grandparents had done nothing wrong though, and he wouldn't answer the phone to them either. Shortly after he came back my grandad died, so at least he was there to say goodbye-but I'm sure he would've been happy never to have seen any of us again if his life hadn't taken a turn for the worst.

It kinda seems like it's a similar issue with Brooklyn and his sibling(s) falling out and the parents getting stuck in the middle? From what little I know about it anyway.

There's obviously more going on than we are being fed via the media. Time to leave Brooklyn alone, but sadly his parents will keep feeding the media with stories and paint him in a bad light as the ungrateful rich boy whose parents gave him everything (other than a normal media free childhood).

I'm surprised Vicky's parents weren't there, they go to everything else.

Sunfloweranddaisy · 05/11/2025 07:42

Sadly things happen and families do sometimes fall out and don’t speak for many many reasons.

I am no contact with a sibling now. It’s been 4 years and my family are so much happier and feel like a weight has been lifted off us. We put up with their crap for a very long time until enough was enough. They could come back now and apologise but sadly it doesn’t make up for everything they have done so I would still not want anything to do with them.

Hi go on holiday with my parents. It’s a lovely opportunity to spend more time together and they get to see more of their grandchildren.

@Mistymegcan you link to where you’ve seen that DB’s other children were at the investiture? I’ve only read and seen photos which show his parents and wife were there. I’ve also seen photos taken elsewhere with the children.

As for Brooklyn, an earlier poster was bang on when she said maybe he didn’t want his entire childhood in the papers. Those kids have been horrendously exploited, they’ve been given no privacy which frankly is disgraceful. It’s nothing to do with having famous parents (there are plenty of celebrity parents who respect their children’s privacy and we have no clue what they look like, or even their names/ gender in some cases.) The Beckhams have exploited their children because they wanted to create a brand.

I don’t blame Brooklyn for going no contact and it wouldn’t wholly surprise me if the other kids do the same in time. They seem to be ok at the moment with playing the game and presumably enjoy the publicity but things could turn very easily. Brooklyn came off worst with the public ridicule for things like that photography book with a glitzy launch party. No doubt he thought it was great at the time but once he realised what a joke it made of him, who could blame him for resenting the way his parents pushed him into having these ‘opportunities.’ It’s no surprise to me that he got married very young, distanced himself from his parents and now seems to have gone no contact.

Ohgoonthenanotheronefortheroad · 05/11/2025 07:19

When I seen the photo with the kids, I commented to my husband about the absence of Brooklyn so was wondering the same myself actually. Quite a significant moment to miss.

Brooklyn Beckham is a bonehead who is married to a greedy fame-hungry egocentric whackjob. So, ya know...

Ash yes. He definitely learned from the best.

David Beckham has been so embarrassingly desperate from that knighthood, he's only got it through spitting his dummy out.

So cringe worthy.

Not sure if she's a 'whackjob'. Don't really see much about her. He certainly has his mummy and daddy's traits though - sense of entitlement being the main one.

But being pushed as a brand when he was a child, must carry some trauma.

PeonyPatch · 05/11/2025 05:52

cant imagine how it feels to be on the receiving end of NC with your own child to be honest

MannersAreAll · 05/11/2025 02:51

The kids weren't at the investiture. The photos with them are after.

Victoria and his parents were the three guests at the actual investiture.

WaryHiker · 05/11/2025 02:41

If I posted on here saying am I being unreasonable for being upset and hurt that my adult children don't all come on holiday with me every year, I'd be met with howls of derision and very justified accusations of being a smother mother.

Why is it incumbent on Brooklyn Beckham to go on holiday with his parents every year? Is it because they are super rich and the holiday will be incredibly luxurious? That doesn't really make sense to me.

suburberphobe · 05/11/2025 02:38

Overrated people.

Don't blame him at all.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 05/11/2025 02:35

My brother has done the same. He’s cut off my dad and that side of the family over some perceived slight that didn’t actually happen.

Since meeting his wife there has been non stop random accusations of unfairness and outright lies. I’m stuck in the middle of it all. Both sides are petty but what he’s said to my dad (hasn’t been divulged to me fully) devastated him.
Every time my dad tries to reach out, my brother doubles down with it all.

It’s all just a bit odd and came from nowhere. There were zero issues until he met SIL. Even more odd is the fact they are both very close to my mum, who was an abusive narcissist when we were growing up and was the cause of a huge amount of physical and mental pain for us (although mainly dished out to me).

I was always quietly proud of having a small family with no drama and no family arguments. Until all this kicked off a couple of years ago. Now it weaves its way into so many conversations and I’m fed up of hearing his bitching.

They were there but not in the actual ceremony room by the look of the photos

Maybe Brooklyn was behind instead of in front of the camera?

Brooklyn, in case you are not aware, is a photographer of some renown.
