The press need to move on?

I wish the focus would move away from Andrew to the other individuals who were involved in the mistreatment of women trafficked by Epstein?

AIBU- to wish they would move on and widen their reporting?

I completely agree. I am sickened by the level of vindictiveness shown towards him . There are many other people in the world who have done far worse things but many people seem to be fixated on him .

Wow just wow. Which decade did you just appear from? It's views like this that minimise what her has done that need to change and are the reason for him staying in the press. Describing it as "vindictiveness" is pretty low.

Ukisgaslit · 02/11/2025 11:07

It’s simple .
Andrew can help the police . The noise would stop then .
What’s he waiting for ?

Something else has happened though that people haven’t really commented on. I spend a lot of time saying ‘no-one is a prince ‘ ‘no-one is royal’

Looks like the Windsors accept that fact now too .

Andrew was a prince and now he isn’t a prince - all with a stroke of a pen - so it’s all made up nonsense - there s
is no special blood .

Can they do the rest of them now and save us a few billion over the next few years

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 02/11/2025 10:50

I don’t think we need to move on- I think we need to keep pushing. This isn’t enough punishment if he has done what he’s accused of, he’s merely changed his title, moved from one free property to another free property in the countryside and is still not facing justice.

Losing your title and swapping one big house for another big house is being presented as equal to Maxwell’s prison time.

I bet the royal family really want us to all move on and stop asking questions about Andrew, move to thinking “right we’ve dealt with that one, on to the next”. He’s not actually been punished or forced to admit his guilt yet.

Yes I agree. His behaviour was despicable but he was far far from the only one. I want to know who else abused these young women and girls

No he isn’t but are the public bankrolling all the others ?

Ukisgaslit · 02/11/2025 09:38

@BeeWitchy

Yes - why has that point not been raised more widely??
The palace abused their position and privilege to try to make the accusations go away and now we are meant to believe that Charles cares about victims because he added a line to a statement after a decade of stonewalling questions and protecting Andrew

BeeWitchy · 02/11/2025 09:14

They knew about Andrew and Epstein for at least a decade!
They did next to nothing even after the BBC interview - in fact they initially smeared Virginia with an statement from the palace dismissing her and until recently they made repeated attempts to rehabilitate Andrew.
Andrew was still swanning around in his knight of the garter nonsense robes - he was still ‘honourable’ to the the Windsors

That statement they made years back - something like they ‘categorically deny’ Virginia’s accusations. All the people disbelieving her because the royal family let people believe it wasn’t credible.

Fuck him.

He's not in jail.
He's not being trafficked or raped, unlike his and the rest of Epstein's victims.
He's not a vulnerable child.

He's an adult male abuser of teenage girls. A grifting, skanky, entitled rapist who has to move from a huge mansion with loads of staff, into a smaller mansion with fewer staff.

Fuck him.🤬

@TooBigForMyBoots

The focus needs to remain not just on Andrew but on what the Windsors knew and when.
The more I think about this the angrier I get

William at the the recent funeral covered his mouth to speak to Andrew. He’s fine with him.He was warning Andrew that cameras were around .

The Windsors have only acted now after more than a decade of knowing because WE know. We have the internet and Virginias book is international news and the leaks from the Epstein files showed Andrew lied to the BBC and months after he said he cut Epstein off Andrew was in fact emailing him , pledging loyalty and asking ‘to play soon’
I feel sick even writing that .

The Windsors would not have done a thing if it weren’t for the publicity.

We know that because they did nothing for a decade and only acted once the public knew .

And now we are hearing William is concerned for his uncles ‘mental health’

Bigger questions need to be asked about how this family acted and protected Andrew

Topseyt123 · 02/11/2025 00:56

The focus needs to widen.

It does need to remain on Andrew, but it also needs to widen to include all other unsavoury contacts of Epstein's. Donald Trump for example. He is connected and shouldn't be getting away scott free. There are others I'm sure.

@ThatNiftyBlueSwan
Are you not sickened by the covering for him by his mother? You know, the woman who was Head of State for over 70’years?

The more the light is shone on Andrew the better.

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/11/2025 21:42

YABVU @dearydeary.🤯
For so many reasons.😱

I think the press should continue to push their investigations into international corruption, trafficking and rape.

Why leave Andrew out of it?🤷‍♀️

HRTQueen · 01/11/2025 20:27

No I would rather it stayed in the headlines these men should not be getting away with ruining so many women’s lives

I would prefer more honesty around Andrew and his future. He will always be protected he will never not live a life of luxury he has too much tell

BeeWitchy · 01/11/2025 20:24

I'm talking in it's literally sense. I'm talking about him, as a fully grown man. He does not appear to be going after her family members who abused her (and would be a million times easier to bring to justice) but he is going after the very rich, famous, media worthy ex-Prince. Why is that?

“He does not appear to be”.

That’s your problem right there. You’ve not informed yourself and are guessing, otherwise you’d know what he’s been doing.

I don’t understand the impulse to want to protect anyone but the victims and the people working to help them. Target the perpetrators. Not those who were victimised.

God, this is so nasty. Her brother was a child ffs.

Virginia had a horrific life pretty much since the day she was born. She has been surrounded by people who used and abused her. And that has not stopped now that she gas gone. The lawyers, the media and her family. All crawling out of the woodwork looking to make a quick buck. None of them are actually doing anything useful from a justice perspective. If they were, they'd stop wasting their time on going after Andrew and focus on easier targets.

TheKeatingFive · 01/11/2025 11:10

It's quite clearly not just about Trump though. Otherwise the Biden administration would have released the files. All kinds of powerful
people are involved here.

Didn’t Biden occupy the White House? I didn’t mention Trump.

TheKeatingFive · 01/11/2025 11:10

BIossomtoes · 01/11/2025 11:03

We know that. It’s about time a few more of them were exposed but they’re enjoying White House protection.

I suspect there is much more to come on Andrew, the rest of the royals are getting ahead of the narrative.

As for all the other men implicated in the Epstein files, I expect there are plenty of them, they have lots of power and they are using it to keep the press away from the story.

Q2C4 · 01/11/2025 10:57

LookAtMeWithStarryEyes · 01/11/2025 10:24

No because the bigger story is still in the press. And the US press are already more focused on their own.

That’s my point - this story will only be in the press for so long, and the other suspected perpetrators might not get the coverage they deserve. There are 450 of them aren’t there? So if they get a month each individually, consecutively, it would take over 37 years to cover them all. Clearly that’s not feasible.

cottonwoolie · 01/11/2025 10:53

God, this is so nasty. Her brother was a child ffs.

It's disgusting & depressing.

cottonwoolie · 01/11/2025 10:52

I feel the same way. It’s getting quite performative and spiteful now. There were numerous equally disgusting men who did equally vile things and are hiding in plain sight. It’s about time the spotlight extended to them.

Spiteful? diddums!

He was a Prince, it makes a big difference to the spotlight.

Do you really believe that Virginia's family are doing it for her? Where were they when she was being abused as a child? Where were they when she was abused by Epstein and a whole raft of other people? Where were they when she was abused ny her husband? Where were they when she was telling the media she'd been in a fatal accident? Where were they when she had her children taken off her? Why are they just focusing on Andrew? Why aren't they talking to the media about all of these other people and events that have happened to her? Why aren't they asking the public and the media to scour the world for the other people who she claims were abused along side her so they can back up her story and they can help them? They have been absent throughout her life until kerching there's money to be made in selling books and courting the media?

God, this is so nasty. Her brother was a child ffs.

The reporting on Andrew is to show no one is protected in the UK, sends a message.

🤣🤣🤣 Tell me you don't understand how the media works without telling you don't how the media works...
