Celeb benefit cheat

hellohelloitsme · 27/10/2025 14:04

I won't name names but a celeb benefit cheat claimed the UC forms were too hard to fill out and she found it difficulty to understand the forms etc.

Think she has a second home (Owned by a few family members) but received £20+k

These weren't pip or any disability benefits.

Aibu in thinking she's lying and not enough checks are being done?

Not sure Hun. The courts convicted her, not me

Not the sharpest tool in the box are you OP?

So the system… worked with this minor celeb (who you clearly have a RL beef with 😆)

Trying not to use her name because it's more the situation and not individual. Courts have delt with it

So the system works then.

sentfromiphoen · 27/10/2025 14:36

I find it hilarious you consider Lauren Goodman a celebrity

But she is a bona fide convicted benefit cheat that is a fact

Old new but it's still happening. Why do they make it so easy....

Not sure who paid for her lawyer fees for the CM case.

How did they make it easy? She got convicted for benefit fraud. Sounds like the system working exactly as intended to me.

Somelast · 27/10/2025 14:33

Interesting
You name changed just to start the thread Op

i reckon you and this minor celeb have a bit of a beef going in RL

Is there a reason you are coyly but very obviously trying to stir up interest in a 6 year old case?

What’s your skin in the game? I doubt it’s to have a wide-ranging discussion on the benefits system.

You seem like a nasty piece of work
I'm not using her name because it's about the act of "not knowing". Not hatred for her.

OMG! No way. You wait until I tell Tracey down the road about this. She won't believe it.

Tracey will be livid

feellikeanalien · 27/10/2025 14:27

Why all this faux concern about not wanting to direct "hate" her way? It is a six year old case. Why not just start a thread about benefit cheats? Or are you worried some people will accuse you of benefits bashing?

Have the courage of your convictions and say what you mean.

BelatrixLestrange · 27/10/2025 14:25

If she's been convicted. Name names.

PinkyFlamingo · 27/10/2025 14:20

hellohelloitsme · 27/10/2025 14:19

Yes sorry I should have made it about general benefits and cheats

Yes. So what is it you wanted to say about benefit cheats?

Kellogs4 · 27/10/2025 14:19

Is it LG @hellohelloitsme ?

hellohelloitsme · 27/10/2025 14:19

PinkyFlamingo · 27/10/2025 14:18

How on earth would be able to say if she's lied or not when we don't have a clue who or what you are talking about?!

Toottooot · 27/10/2025 14:18

Would hardly call her a ‘celebrity’ only known for hanging off the tails of a z list reality ‘star’ sister then having 2 kids to a very wealthy footballer. 🙄

That's a celeb nowadays

This is old news - it was widely referred to in the media during the court case for her outrageous maintenance demands. The judge in that case also made reference to it.

MrsMAFs · 27/10/2025 14:17

She was convicted so will have been suitably punished. Not a fan of hers but surely that's case closed?

hellohelloitsme · 27/10/2025 14:17

Everanewbie · 27/10/2025 14:16

So a "celebrity" has been convicted of benefit fraud.

And your question is "AIBU to think she is a liar?" Is that fair?

If that is your question, then I suppose if a court of law has convicted the individual of fraud, then given the definition of fraud, its not too much of an extension to call said person a liar.

But I'm not sure the reason for the smoke and mirrors in the question.

But OP, a prevailing view on MN is that there is close to zero benefit fraud, and that everyone who receives it are angels, and we should never snitch, question, or say anything less than sweetness's against them.

Just trying not to name her because it's not about her. It's about those who do it.

Thank you for the last sentence. Weird women on here
