This Christmas?
I know it’s mainly a cost thing but if it’s achievable, can people possibly manage with less stuff?

I keep seeing Temu reminders on this site, and going back to add more to my latest cart. Got one parcel out for delivery, placing another one tomorrow. Love getting the plastic bags and opening them, it's like mini Christmas when they arrive.

Same stuff as Amazon, but cheaper. Love it.

Christ I hope you don't buy candles from Temu/Shein! All that tat and a naked flame, careful where you stand!
🤣😘😂

crappycrapcrap · 26/10/2025 08:35

I have never and will never buy from them. I buy enough unnecessary stuff, it’s really easy just not to use these sites.

Digdongdoo · 26/10/2025 08:34

You sound mad honestly. Go ahead, waste your money. No need to announce it. After all, it doesn't matter does it?

Ooh, and now I'm trying to decide between which plastic measuring cups I want. Was thinking of getting them from the shops, but instead I will deffo go Temu.

Thanks :)

DaisyChain505 · 26/10/2025 08:34

If you want your eyes opening on the subject and to learn a little bit of perspective watch “buy now” on Netflix.

Digdongdoo · 26/10/2025 08:34

notthisagain2025 · 26/10/2025 08:32

Oh my God you cannot possibly be that thick. Surely not. Surely you know what a wall of text is? My goodness. How embarrassing for you.

I just added a couple of silver necklaces to the cart (well I say silver 😅) in your honour. I wasn't sure about them, but for your sake I'll bite the bullet 😘

Megifer · 26/10/2025 08:32

Of course you can ask!

My answer is "respectfully, no"

notthisagain2025 · 26/10/2025 08:32

Digdongdoo · 26/10/2025 08:21

There's another wall of text. You even responded to your own wall of text with another wall of text. You obviously do feel guilty deep down. Not the behavior of someone who really doesn't care.

Are you trying to convince me, or yourself?

I just added some tealight candles to my cart, in honour of you. I guess getting the last word means more to you than someone using Temu afer all 😇

And yes I will use it no matter what you say. But it is worth it to me to spend a bit more money on Temu tat tonight than I ordinarily would have. So yeah, you're adding to the Temu problem by pretending you don't believe me 😊

JoemarIerseyes · 26/10/2025 08:27

LittleCarrot12 · 25/10/2025 18:19

Temu order delivered yesterday and ordered Shein last night. The UK is ridiculously expensive and I need to live

What necessities are you buying that are cheaper from Temu? I'm genuinely interested 😊

Digdongdoo · 26/10/2025 08:27

notthisagain2025 · 26/10/2025 08:23

It becomes virtue signalling when you lecture someone about Temu and pretend (or even worse actually believe) that you consider yourself in any way superior or helpful or better or more ethical for not shopping there.

Feel all the feelings you want, and accept that nothing you do, or don't do matters one bit when it comes to the planet, animals, slavery or anything else.

Be nice to those in your immediate vicinity. Live your life. Be as happy as you can.

That's it. That's all you've got.

Bagsintheboot · 25/10/2025 18:16

I agree. Yet people still blindly by plastic / toxic rubbish for their little darlings, cos you can't tell them where to shop innit.

notthisagain2025 · 26/10/2025 08:23

OlivePeer · 26/10/2025 08:07

But I can't not feel bad when I see a picture of the suffering caused - especially the animals. I try not to seek them out but they just appear sometimes on the news, adverts and so on. It's not a choice made in order to be "virtue signalling", it's feeling genuine emotion.

Why do you think China pumps out so much pollution in comparison to other nations?

Who cares? There is literally nothing that you can do about it. It won't stop.

I just added some Christmas napkins to my Temu cart.

Digdongdoo · 26/10/2025 08:09

notthisagain2025 · 26/10/2025 08:06

Nothing YOU do for the environment/slavery/etc matters. Nothing. You have helped nobody. You are doing no good. You are not making any contribution to the world any more than I am. Your politicians are lying to you as they fly around the world guzzling champagne and oysters and giving zero fucks about you.

Give the beggar on the street a pound as you go past and be nice to your mum. That will make FAR FAR FAR more of a positive impact than spending your life pointlessly following useless demands from your overlords.

There is one difference between you and I when it comes to saving the world - I am no longer living a guilt ridden confused and pointlessly miserable life. I'm enjoying what I can while I can. And I will keep doing it.

You're doing an awful lot of patting yourself on the back for someone who is "no longer guilt ridden"... so many walls of text defending yourself for something you supposedly don't think needs defending...

I highly recommend watching the episode of The Good Place where they figure out why nobody has gone to heaven for hundreds of years. Because every single thing everyone does fucks something up. Buy a tomato in the grocery store, contribute to world famine, butyan organic egg, kill a kid somewhere.

Nothing matters, nothing changes, your politicians are doing whatever the fuck they want in their gigantic cars and aeroplanes and by the way China pumps out more pollution in 12 DAYS than Australia does in a year.

You are wasting your lives wailing and trying to virtue signal and being kept in a state of permanent guilt and confusion and are helping absolutely nobody at all.

It's wonderful to let go fo the desire to be a virtue signalling pompous arse, and just live your life and be happy while you can

Can't wait for plastic straws to make a huge come back and am very much looking forward to my next Temu parcel, love that it's in plastic, so easy to open and get rid of and light and convenient for delivery. 💅😇😍

The comment about the unfixable world - how did you stop caring? I'm genuinely asking. How did you turn off the bit of you that cares when you see a picture of a sea creature choked by plastic or the conditions of the factories?

Nah, nothing internalised love. I just don't give a single fuck about Temu. No fucks given. I recognise that nearly every single thing YOU do, and everything your wannabe ethically superior brigade do every single day helps nobody at all and instead contributes to fucking a completely unfixable world, and that nothing YOU do or I do or anybody else from the masses does matters even remotely, and so instead of morosely and whinily virtue signalling and lashing myself with a cat o nine tails and changing nothing at all - literally not a single thing - I live my life and am happy.

Sick of being lectured, nothing matters, I do what I want. That's all of it.

It's fucking awesome. And nothing you say, nothing at all, will stop me.

I just added two crystal lotus candle holders to my cart, in honour of you. You're welcome.

Well when the wooden tea set I got off Temu for £2.50 for my goddaughter, showed up in an Amazon box, with Amazon labelling and shipping from our usual Amazon courier, no.
Even more so when the £2.50 toy off Temu costs £14.99 off Amazon and it’s the exact same thing…

This.

or you go into TK MAX and find their home decor stuff can often be exactly the same as on the shein website.

I find it genuinely hard to believe (not as a figure of speech) that people don't care about the suffering of those in slavery or endangered animals, so what drives the "I love plastic, give me everything from Temu" attitude? Is it a kind of internal bravado/denial to avoid having to feel any guilt? Where if you say it enough you might start to believe it?
