Strongly agree. I met a train driver once who told me she was on long term sick leave for her mental health because "something" happened when she was driving. It was clear what she meant, she couldn't even talk about it. She said every time she drove the train after that, she kept thinking it would happen again any second, so she had to get signed off. She said you're alone in the cab for hours with no one to talk to, just your awful thoughts to sit with.

Totally selfish to knowingly choose to traumatise an innocent person that way.

I knew someone who was part of a team that have to clean up after train suicide. Utterly traumatising.

He's such a clever, entertaining broadcaster. If only there were more at his level.

IS he clever? He often comes across as a bit thick on Who Wants to be a millionaire on the Ask the Host bit.

Dollymylove · 23/10/2025 17:45

G'wan Jezza 😆

Crucible · 23/10/2025 17:44

Do you honestly think people are in their right mind at this point? FFS

GrrrrrrrBrrrrrrr · 23/10/2025 17:37

I think he is funny and down to earth. He’s not a big old fake like lots of other celebs. He is very sympathetic to the needs of farmers but is always careful to point out that he doesn’t face the same challenges as he gets money from other places. I like his honesty. I was amazed at how much I enjoyed his gaming show. You could see that the other people involved are genuinely fond of him. I don’t think you can fake that.

However he is also a bit of a wanker. He likes the sound of his own voice and he is a bit of a buffoon. His private-educated old white guy confidence is a little too obvious.

The punch thing was terrible though. That’s hard not to forget.

YABVU

He’s hard working, successful, intelligent and extremely witty.

Where’s you’re very good at well let’s see…swearing? Stringing an intelligent sentence together?

Grin

Can't string a sentence together, you say? Read your post.

Ihateboris · 23/10/2025 17:36

My top five pricks are as follows;

Boris Johnson (obvs)
Jeremy Clarkson
Piers Morgan
Jonathan Ross
Jacob Rees Mogg

Kaleb is that you?

🤣🤣

Karistyleaftea · 23/10/2025 17:35

He seems horrible but thankfully I do not know him so it doesn't matter.

Didn't think much of him until I saw the slope on the bridge comment. Now I know he is racist and doesn't care about letting people see that.

It’s what people say about Katie Hopkins. I wonder if the name in the op was changed to Kh what percentage of the people loving clarkson would be the same about her?
I reckon it would be high.

That's a name I haven't heard in ages! There was a time when every 5th thread was about her!!

I love JC! He should be leading this country

Thank fuck you can't do anything to make that happen!

what a mad idea!

confusedlab47 · 23/10/2025 17:29

He’s done a lot to show people how hard farming is - he’s 50 percent twat but he seems to know it. I loved top gear and the Amazon prime grand tours

Flakey99 · 23/10/2025 17:29

You’re not wrong OP. He’s an odious little prick. 😡

Butchyrestingface · 23/10/2025 17:28

Are you actually fucking Jeremy Clarkson though, @Driftingawaynow ?

Or are you just all talk?

So many Mumsnetters make such large claims these days that just do not stand up to scrutiny. Sad

Lol.

Over40Overdating · 23/10/2025 17:26

In a game of shag, marry, kill with him, Gerald and the dodgy vet, I still wouldn’t choose Clarkson for the shagging.

Pollqueen · 23/10/2025 17:00

Love Jeremy Clarkson. Wasn't he voted world's sexiest man or similar a couple of years ago?

Anyway, YABVU OP

What? By the blind association?

PlaceIntheClouds · 23/10/2025 17:24

He does make a lot of sense if you actually listen to him. Rather him as PM than Starmer tbh.
