If you could wake up tomorrow with a specific singer’s voice, whose would you choose and why?

Inspired by another thread, mine would be Karen Carpenter.

Pretty much anyone who can sing in tune would do me.

Judith would definitely be my pick.

'The Carnival is Over' probably shows off her voice better, or 'I am Australian', but I specially like the one I linked to :)

I've seen an interview with her bandmates where they said (a little bit irritated with her!) that she never sang a wrong note, and picked them up on all of theirs even if only a fraction out 😉

Judith was amazing!❤️

Also, Joni Mitchell.

I'm in a choir and would love to sound like Karen Carpenter, we don't have enough men to sing th know parts so a good deep, rich, female voice like that would be amazing.

neilyoungismyhero · 20/10/2025 21:25

Wynona Judd or Tina Turner.

squashyhat · 20/10/2025 21:18

Great thread! Carly Simon, plus Justin Hawkins or Geddy Lee for the high notes Grin

outerspacepotato · 20/10/2025 21:11

Whitney Houston or Aretha.

Songbird54321 · 20/10/2025 21:10

Karen Carpenter is a good call. I love her voice. But I'd probably pick Judith Durham.
